• I walked into the school that I would officially be attending. Lakewood High School, I read the sign over and over again wondering why my mother would do this to me. She got a new job and moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia, therefore I had to too. I left it all behind, my friends, my school, my home. I sighed letting my brown hair fall into my face so hopefully people wouldn't notice me. I wasn't paying attention and I suddenly felt something run into my shoulder.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." I said turning around to a blonde girl with blue eyes. She looked almost perfect, had I not messed up her hair. She was wearing a really short blue jean skirt with a pink shirt that barely covered her chest, which I think was the whole point. She looked extremely unhappy and I knew who she was. She was the popular, the cool, the wanted by all the guys type. I just set my own grave. Or at least that's what I thought until her face turned to a little smile.
"I guess I'll forgive you since you're new and you probably don't know who I am." she smiled deviously. I hadn't noticed until now that she had two girls behind her. One with bright red hair and the other with brown. They looked like wannabes of the girl and the girl looked like a wannabe barbie.
"I never asked for your forgiveness, I said sorry." I replied simply but she kept her smile.
"Oh, so you're the smartass type, don't worry, I'll rid you of that quickly and then maybe you can join the my clique." she said looking me over. I was in a black T-shirt that had Gir in his green dog suit on the front of it and a pair of blue jeans.
"I don't want to be like you, the bitchiest girl around and who probably stuffs her bra so the guys would take a second glance when you pass by." I said and her face flushed. I wasn't sure if it was because it was of embaressment or anger. She turned around quickly flicking her blonde hair in my face and walked off. The other two looked at me, stuck up their noses, and stormed off with the other girl. I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and I turned around. Another blonde girl was standing there with big blue eyes like mine.
"That was amazing, I'm Elaine, you are?" she smiled.
"I'm Catherine, but call me Cathy, um who was that?" I asked glancing behind me.
"Kiesha, the biggest b***h here." Elaine snorted.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one here who hates her." I smiled.
"Not the only one," she said rolling her eyes, "we basically have a whole group that's anti-Kiesha."
We started walking and talking. Suprisingly she was in most of my classes. I found a friend, yaeh, I know it sounds gay, but its true.

    . . .3 weeks later. . .

"Cathy! Come on, we're going to be late for dance and it's our first day!" Elaine shouted racing down the hallway. I ran after her trying hard to keep up. Elaine turned a shap left and I followed after panting. She stopped abrubtly in front of the gym doors and I ran into the back of her. I stumbled backward and Elaine grabbed me quickly to keep me from falling. She turned back to the doors and pushed them open. We walked in side by side. I held my breath as I looked around the room to all the eyes staring at us.
"Glad you could come ladies." Mrs. Turner greeted us.
"I'm glad too." Elaine smiled. Mrs. Turner nodded her head telling us where to stand.
"Alright, today class, we're going to be doing a dance that involves a lot of touching." Mrs. Turner anounnced. I heard some of the girls giggle and watched as most of them glanced at one guy. He was standing there looking at me. He had mud brown hair that sometimes you could swear it was black with deep brown eyes. He was ridiculously handsome or, as most girls put it, "hot". He had a well built body and was wearing a T-shirt that clung to him with black sweat pants that weren't baggy but then again they were.
"Can I have a volunteer, boy preferbally."
"I'll happily do it." the young man said, his eyes finally leaving mine.
"Thank you Jason." Mrs. Turner smiled and pressed a button on a CD player making a smooth and sexy rythm fill the room. Jason made his way to me and walked behind me. One of his arms wrapped around me while he made me lift an arm. His lips gluided down my neck and to my shoulder, all of this matching the beat of the music. His arm was sort of holding my arm up. He brought his hand in close to him and then let it trail on the bottom of my arm. I turned my head as he lifted his, putting our faces barely a centimeter apart. Out of the corner of my eye I saw jealous looks from most of the girls standing there watching us. Jason unwrapped his arm from around me and stepped out to my side with my arm still up and his hand gently holding mine. His back was facing the other students while I was facing them. He twirled me into his arms to where my back was pressed against his chest and his arms were wrapped around me. He untwisted me so we were facing each other and as I jerked to a stop, so did the music. Jason turned around and bowed as every body started clapping wildly.
"Thank you Mr. Garcia." Mrs. Turner smiled. I walked back and stood where I originally was. Elaine was staring at me the whole time wide eyed and with her mouth slightly open.
    What, I mouthed.
Elaine shook her head and mouthed, Tell you later. I shrugged and turned around to face Mrs. Turner.

It wasn't until after school that Elaine decided to freak out about what happened in the gym between me and Jason.
"He is the hottest guy here, and he danced with you, why aren't you hyperventilating?" she asked.
"Because while all of the other girls are trying to grab his attention, I'm trying to grab my books." I replied rolling my eyes.
"What does that have to do with breathing hard?" she asked and I laughed.
"I meant I 'm just not really looking for some guy to touch me in ways that gay pepole wouldn't, if I was looking for that I would hope to be in a relationship with him before that stage." I said as we made our way tom my car. I was just about to open the door when Elaine nudged me in the side. I turned to her and she pointed in the school's direction. I looked that way and I saw Jason walking this way talking to one of his friends. His friend glanced to me and smiled widely. He poited to me and Jason looked over. Once he spotted me he smiled and sped up. His friend departed and so did Elaine. I watched her leave and then turned around to open my car door when I heard someone call to me.
"Hey, you're the girl from the gym." Jason said as he finally got to me.
"Yeah." I replied not even turning to him.
"That was a lot of fun, we should do it again sometime."
    "No way."
"Fine, you weren't that good of a dancer anyways."
    "And who said you were?"
"Mrs, Turner." he sneered. I rolled my eyes and climbed into my car shutting the door behind me. He knocked on the window and I rolled it down.
    "I never got your name."
    "Cathy."
"Well, I'm having a party in a week or two, wanna come?"
    "Uh, sure."
"Great, see you then." he smiled and walked off.

I sighed driving to Mrs. Garcia's house. I don't even know her but she found my offering for a babysitter and called the number. Her and her husband were going on a cruise for their anniversary and they don't trust their son. Garcia, the name ran through my head again and again like I knew it from some where but I couldn't figure it out. I pulled into the driveway looking at the big brick house wih dark green shutters. It was a two story house, easier to break my neck in. Great. I climbed out of the car and trudged through their grass. I had to park in the yard since they were about to have to pull out of their driveway. I rang the doorbell and there was a loud crash and some yelling. The door opened and suddenly had to look down only to find a little red headed girl staring up at me with big brown eyes.
"Mommy! There's an angel at our door!" the little girl gasped. A reddish gray haired woman walked up and picked up the child.
"You must be Cathy, I'm Mrs. Garcia and this is Chantal." the woman smiled. I smile and nodded back.
"Jason! The babysitters here! Don't mess with her!" Mrs. Garcia yelled. I froze. Jason, Jason Garcia. Of course the name sounded familiar, Mrs. Turner had adressed him by his last name once. I watched in horror Jason cam bounding down the stairs that were clearly visible from the front door. His eyes got wide and he smiled when his eyes met mine.
"Well if it ain't gym girl." he grinned walking to the door.
"You're right, it ain't gym girl, it's Cathy." I smiled back hoping to sound like a smartass.
"Yes, well, my pet name for you is gym girl." he smiled.
"I'm not a dog nor a cat." I replied narrowing my eyes.
"You're still my pet." he grinned and leaned in towards me. Just then Mrs. Garcia appeared.
"I told you to leve that poor girl alone." she hissed. I guess it looked like we were kissing because she came closer to make sure we weren't. Then she turned to me.
"Don't fall for him, he has his looks but has missed placed his mind. All he ever cares for are a girl's looks and let me tell you, he will sweep you off your feet and then drop you, cause you're really pretty and thats all he cares about." she warned. I nodded and heard Jason sigh in the background.
"Well, bye!" she smiled as a man that I'm guessing was her husband came behind her and they walked out the door, leaving me with Jason and Chantal.
