    Yumi Nereza Keiko
    March 7th,
The Day of Black Light, Part One

My eyes tried to adjust to the light coming in through the grand and beautiful window in my room. I rubbed my sore eyes, sitting up and yawning. I didn't want to get up; I wanted to stay and sleep, skip March Seventh.
But grudgingly, I opened my eyes. What made me open them was the fact that my brothers' birthday was today. I wanted to be one of the first to wish him so.
Though I was beat to the punch.
"Happy birthday, twin." I heard him saying from the lavish couch in my large bedroom. I waved, still lulled with sleep. I walked into the bathroom.
Pooling water into my hands, I splashed it on my face in the bathroom, waking up my senses. I wiped my hands with a cloth, quickly dressing into my clothes that Mother and father had gotten me. I stepped back out into my room, staring Kilunar down.
"How long have you been there?" I asked, my arms crossed. He didn't like the way I looked at him, so he got up.
"Only about ten minutes; I just woke up. I had trouble falling asleep, though."
    "Oh? And why is that?"
He uncrossed my arms from my chest.
"I don't know, I guess I was used to sleeping in a tent." He shrugged. "The cook probably has breakfast ready. We should get going."
I nodded, though I had no idea where that was. Rolling his eyes, he took my hand and led me down the stone hallway.
    "You're nervous." I stated.
    "Hm? Me? No."
"Yes you are, actually. You're making me nervous because you are."
He sighed, stopping to a halt and looking to his shoes.
    "About the Ritual."
I smiled softly, walking to place my hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry; everything will be great!" I smiled again. "Your words, remember?"

They wer placed in a circle, standing at the points of the star I'd drawn on the floor. The uppermost point was empty, since it was where I'd be. They talked to people, putting on their necklaces. The order was simple.
The Fire Power was first, Fiedra Imasa, followed by the Water Power, Airahos Soharia, then Wind, Teruko Asami, then Earth, Ero Inoji, then Darkness, Yumi Nereza Keiko. I was talking with my brother for the while in a secluded corner, so I wasn't in position.
Slowly, we walked to the circle, where I looked at Kilunar once more. His eyes held pain, sadness, and fire. He hugged me tightly, brushing his lips on mine for the shortest of moments. I watched him walk to Mother, who looked at him with an arched eyebrow. He avoided her gaze.
Sighing internally, I got into place at the circle, fingering my pendant around my neck. It was beautiful.
"Okay, moving on... you all ready?" Mother asked, motioning for everyone else to move far away from the circle. They complied grudgingly.
We all nodded one curt nod.
I kept my eyes on the castle doors as we went through.
    "Fire."
    "Water."
    "Wind."
    "Earth."
"And Darkness. Seek forth the Dark Ones and change them. Do not murder them; do not harm them. Have them change their ways."
I started chanting an old spell I'd learned when I was four - it was in the Old Language, so no one really understood me.
"Turn our sadness and anger into strength and spare us and the world the Darkness that harms the Earth."
There was a bright light in the center of the circle; the star I drew onto the floor changed, shifted, and became a star with six points. The light stretched into a collumn, touching the ceiling.
"It will show us our answer; where the light to contradict the Darkness is found." I stated, answering the questions that poured out like tea.
Two rays of light seperated from the collumn, dancing like magic lights. They passed over every person in the room; one stopped somewhere on my left, and the other stopped on me.
The light felt warm, filled with awe and surprise, and gentle, loving, tender. I said a few quick words, which allowed me to survey the room properly.
Kilunar was watching me, and his body glowed a light aura, before seeping into his skin. I noticed that the light that had landed on me had wrapped around me, and was sinking into my skin.
It landed on you? I asked my brother.
    Yes.
I terminated the spell, falling to the floor, unconscious. All I heard was my name being shouted.

Something ran smoothly along my left cheekbone, I felt calm and quiet, happy. I didn't want to open my eyes and let the feeling go, but I did so anyways.
The first thing I saw was a ceiling, which meant I was lying down. I turned my head to the left, seeing that I was also in my bedroom on the couch. I looked to my right, and met with two bright blue eyes.
Kilunar smiled as I slowly woke up. I didn't move from where I lay, I was way too comfortable for that.
"Welcome back, Nereza." He smiled, his thumb still stroking my cheekbone. My head was on his lap; he held me from falling to the floor. "I told them I'd bring you here, so no one came to bother you. I also said I'd make sure to be there when you awoke."
"Thank you... brother." I smiled, and he kissed the tip of my nose, of which I lifted my head a little to kiss his lips. Smiling, he sat me up slowly, not breaking it. I could hear a bird gossip outside my window to another bird, though I chose to ignore it. Instead, I sat on his lap - comfortable as I was - letting myself be like a teenager for once.
Albeit a teenager who loves her twin brother. Ironic.
You think too much; I'm surprised you don't have a lot of headaches. He laughed internally, using our twinness. I wanted to stick out my tongue at him, though thought better of it.
We broke it after a few minutes, anxious for breath, just staring at each other.
"What was... the light from the spell? I didn't understand it." He asked. I leaned my head on his shoulder, sighing and closing my eyes. He placed his hand on my hair, stroking it gently.
"It means that our bond is the link to saving this world and all others from the Dark Ones." I kissed his jaw. "Something tells me though that they're not waiting for our Okay and they are already slaughtering humans."
    "Eew."
    "Exactly."
"What will we do? I have no powers."
"Look again, dummy. That light was a source of power. It touched us for a reason, you know." I'd already figured it out, though I waited for him to get it. His gasp was immediate.
"You are my equal now." I grinned.
