• Cameron answered the door; my eyes fell right on his face. “Calianne, please come in.” He said flashing a smile well he stepped out of my way. He lead me into the cool, dark house, it calmed my headache. He led me to the living room, the curtains were pulled back, bathing the room with sunlight. I cringed and grabbed my head. “Baby, is the sun bothering you?” He asked. I stifled a groan. He pulled the curtains closed. I fell on to the couch. “Can I get you something Baby?” He asked.

“Water.” I said. Instead he brought more red wine. I took a sip, the room started spinning. I felt dizzy. I tried getting up but, Cameron caught me before my head crashed into the coffee table.

When I opened my eyes, my hands were tied to two posts. I was lying on a bed, I wasn’t in my blue jeans and tank top anymore, I was in a white linen, sleeveless gown. I tried pulling at the ropes that bound my wrists, it didn’t work. When I looked to a dark corner across the room, I saw the spiders and mice cowering in the corner, their tiny hearts beating fast. I saw the door open in my peripheral vision.

Cameron walked in. A smile came across my face. “Ah, Calianne, you’re finally awake.” He said walking towards me. I used the ropes to my advantage; I pulled myself up so my back was against the wall. He was dressed ready to go cook at Saltanie’s as head vampire chef. He kneeled down so his eyes were level with mine. “I tied you up so you wouldn’t run.” He said.

“Why would I run? I love you.” I said to him. His eyes were there usual red, but I felt a lusting behind the regular emotions.

“From the first time I met you, you looked so dead.” He said, starting to untie one of the ropes binding my wrist. When my hand was free he took it and kissed it. “You buried yourself deeper into your work, always separated.” He continued. I worked on my other bound hand.

“But why the ropes?” I asked freeing my other hand. “Baby, because you didn’t agree with what I was doing.” He said. “I’m sorry, but I don’t remember.” I said. “Baby, you were arguing with me after I told you I’d be making you a vampire.” He said. “Please forgive me? I was drunk with a migraine, I didn’t mean too.” I said, a reddish tear trailing down my cheek. Cameron’s hand touched my face and wiped away my tears. “Baby I forgive you. But now, to business, full consumption. Bring a beverage of your choice and meet me on the dance floor at one thirty tonight.” He said. When he meant “beverage” he meant a human.

“But what about tonight’s rush?” I asked. “My sweet, you can work, but I have to keep an eye on you.” He said. “You will not be left alone ever again, I promise.” He continued. He pulled me to my feet. I did something I wanted to do since I had met him; I pulled him back down on the bed. He and I were kissing, he pulled me on top of him, and we kissed and kissed. We lay on the bed catching our breath, his arms around me, holding me to him. He glanced at his watch. “My sweet, we must get ready, Saltanie’s opens in three hours.” He said. I pulled myself into his lap. He hugged me and ruffled my hair with a kiss. “How will I get home? The only clothes I have were the ones I wore.” I said looking into his eyes. His red eyes flickered. “Baby, no need to worry, I have something you can wear.” He said. He pulled me up to my feet, he lead me to a room with a giant closet. “All yours my sweet.” He said.

He was at the closet, pulling out a blood red corset, black camisole, a black miniskirt, fishnet stockings and blood red shin high boots. He left me so I could change. I slipped the camisole on, then the corset. Then I saw two similar puncture wounds on the base of my neck, bite marks, from Cameron. I peeled back a scab, blood came dripping out, I put my finger to the blood and put it into my mouth, and I tasted myself. I wanted more. I finished getting dressed and headed to the bathroom in my room. I saw myself in the mirror, red eyes, pale skin, and fangs. I am a vampire. I went to touch my face, my finger nails were pointed. I grabbed a finger nail clipper from the medicine cabinet and started cutting my nails.

After I finished, I walked out of the bathroom. Cameron was lounging on the bed, dressed in a midnight blue suit and black shirt with a blood red tie. “My, that looks lovely on you.” He said, pushing himself off the bed. “Thank you. You don’t look half bad either.” I said. He took one of my hands and slipped a fingerless glove on and then on my other hand. His arms wrapped around me, holding me to his chest, I wrapped my arms around him. He kissed my forehead. “My sweet, we must go.” He said unwrapping his arms and grabbing hold of my hand. He led me through the house.

We got into his car. He drove one handed. His other hand was clutching mine, or behind my head. I put my head against his arm. It was three o’clock, one hour away before we opened. My mind was racing, who do I bring? I couldn’t take Ime, she’s my best friend. And Brandon was gone. I decided I’d take Tyler, he was so shy, and no one would miss him. Cameron knew Shy Ty; he said he’d send someone for him at one. Uncle V, I missed him, shot and killed, Aunt Sandy, mauled to death, I was alone and dead when I met Cameron.

Somehow, he convinced the courts that I would stay with him. He never enforced that I had to live with him; he let me stay at Uncle Vinnie’s until we moved everything out. We arrived at Saltanie’s, Cameron walked in with me at his side. He went to start cooking and I made sure everything was ready for tonight. Cameron was doing a special midnight toast he told me, he didn’t say anymore though. It was time to open up, I took the hostess stand and started writing down parties and how many arrived. Time flew by, people coming in and out. I saw them eating their dinner, oh some of them so unaware what fate they have chosen.

It was about time for the midnight toast. Leah handed me a glass of wine and told me to go and enjoy. I saw Cameron come out; he introduced himself and did the toast, but when he was almost finished he did something no one expected. “My sweet Calianne, will you come and join me up here?” He asked. The guests parted like the red sea. I walked up to the dance floor. His hand outstretched to me. I grasped his hand and looked at the sea of faces. “As you all know from the little bio in the menu, I’m looking for that special someone, and well, I found her, and I hope she’s found hers.” He continued. He was saying me! “Cameron, I did find my special someone, he right next to me.” I said smiling and looking into his eyes. “Then I have one question for you. Calianne Bree Rosar, I promise to love you forever and always for the rest of eternity. Will you marry me?” He asked he was on his knee with a diamond ring. How could I refuse? “Yes. A million times yes!” I said. He slipped the ring on to my finger, kissed the ring and stood up. The guests were clapping, cheering, and shouting congratulations. Cameron faced me, grabbed my face and kissed me. We kissed for a while; we stopped. “Later. I promise.” Cameron said kissing my forehead lightly. He put his arm around my waist, I leaned into him. “I love you.” He whispered into my ear. “I love you too.” I said kissing his cheek.

It was almost one thirty, the guests were gone and the employees were home, Tyler came into the restaurant, he looked me over and his eyes almost popped out of his head. I took him to Cameron. “Ah, Calianne, you’ve done well.” Cameron approved. Cameron had told me before how to surprise him with the bite. I drank long and deep, sinking my fangs further and further down. Tyler’s body to the ground. I felt my fangs retract and I saw my skin get some color back. “Baby you’ve done well.” Cameron said kissing. I felt his tongue lick the last of the blood from my lips, it felt heavenly. Cameron laughed and kissed me again. We got rid of Tyler’s body.

Cameron then drove us back to his house. When we got into the house, he locked the door. When he turned around my lips flew right to his. “It’s later, and you promised.” I said. He growled. My hands entangled in his hair. He picked me up and ran up the stairs and into his room. He shut the door and continued to kiss me. We lay in his bed, our clothes in a pile on the floor, I didn’t know where I ended and he began. We just kept kissing each other. I still lay on top of him, I straddled my legs. My hands in his golden bronze hair. His hands on my back, pulling, holding me to him.

I must have fallen asleep because when I awoke, I was in his bed alone. “Cameron?” I asked in the empty room. “Ah, you’re awake.” He said entering the room. My body ached for him to be in bed with me. He was in a pair of pajama bottoms. I grabbed my clothes and started to put on my bra, underwear, and camisole. I stood up and walked towards Cameron. His arms encircled me, and kissed me. “Baby, your eyes sparkle like emeralds.” He said kissing me again. Did he say green? Then it was true, after full consumption I did get my human appearance somewhat back. I looked into his eyes, they weren’t red anymore, and they were blue, like a night sky. “You have blue eyes.” I said. He nodded. “I feel so alive when I’m around you.” He said.

He led me to the living room, he sat down and I laid my head in his lap. He turned the TV on, the news was showing, it was noon, we had four hours together. He stroked my hair, and my cheeks, and my neck, I let out a sigh. He leaned forward and kissed my forehead. When he sat back up, I got up and sat up myself. His arm came around my back and pulled me closer. I laid my head on his shoulder. “Cameron. Thank you.” I said. He smiled. “For what baby?” He asked. “For being here, for changing me.” I said. “Of course Baby.” He said. His head rested on mine. We sat there watching the news for another hour.

I shifted around, and then stood up. “Baby, where you going?” He asked. “Well, it’s almost two o’clock, and I still need a vampire’s opinion on what I should wear.” I said winking. He smiled, his fangs growing. His eyes changed back to red. We raced up the stairs to my bedroom. We finally decided on a black tank top with red inlay, a net top, a mini skirt, and knee high a** kicking boots. He left me so he could change. I went to my bathroom to brush my hair.

I heard him knock on the door, I opened it. He came towards me, he twirled me around him, we were dancing, we started laughing. “I might have to change the midnight toast. Of course with your permission.”
