Gaia Game Chat Gets Color! (and more)

For everybody who likes to chat in Gaia games, your world just got a whole lot more colorful.



Change your default chat color

you can change your default chat color by typing a command like this one:



Don't forget the slash. See the table of named colors (below) for all the currently supported values.

You can also use a custom color by typing a command like this:



In this example "112233" is any valid RGB Hex value.

This next example sets your custom color to full blue.

So, can't users make their text color white and be annoying?

Yes. If any user is annoying you for any reason, you can always click on their avatar and choose to ignore that person.


Can mods read the chat if it's invisible?

Yes. The chat log is plain text.



Why don't you have my favorite color?

Some common colors were not implemented because they were too light to see on a white background. If you have a favorite color you'd like to see added to the list, PM me.


But I want RAINBOW scream

A lot of people ask me if I would add rainbow text. Right now there is no option to chat in rainbow color. This is because each letter would require it's own open and close color tags, which creates a lot of network traffic. If anybody really wants to chat in color they can by preparing lines of text with lots of color tags (good luck with that) and then by using copy and paste into the chat window.
