Okay here's my problem. I'm drawing a picturing in Illustrator and I'm trying to put it in Photoshop to color it. But when I do the back ground it all blocky like the image below...what do I do to get rid of that.

Are you referring to the checkerboard pattern?

Have you never used photoshop before?

That's there so you can see what is and isn't transparent. It won't be visible when you save the final image.

If it bothers you, you can create a new layer and fill it with a solid color and place it behind the layers you are working on.

I've used photoshop just not illustrator with it...I'll try that

I just want to give you a tip.
What they are saying is correct. Also, be sure to make plenty of new blank layers over the background. It will help you color more easily.

Just fill it in with the bucket tool and make it white. It just means it has no color ^_^ it wont show up if you save it as is.

In a way that is what you want. The "tiles" are for transparency, as in you can upload it to a site with a blue background, and it will show blue through instead of a blocky white.
