No longer was Monferno knocking its opposition aside Instead, each Pokemon he now faced was taking out one or more on his own. Monferno, was first to be knocked out, but not before taking out one and heavily damaging a second opponent. After that Saru found himself being cornered. He'd lost the forward momentum. But the monk was reveling in the challenge of it all. The heat of a good battle invoked a fanged, toothy smile the likes of which nothing else in life could! the worst the battle went in his favorite the happier he looked until finally he was left with just one usable Pokemon.
Clinching a fist, and looking crazed Saru reached for it. The last Pokeball in his sleeve. "Lets rumble Kong!" Chibi gasped going wide-eyed as in a flash of light appeared a massive Slaking. Standing it had to be nearly 12 feet. Lazily it slumped to the ground watching its opponent, a puny Snubbull. "Let's go, bite Snubbull!" Commanded its trainer undeterred. It rushed forward but a slipt second before it was within range a blur of motion and the fairy-normal-type was sent crashing into the crowd of Team Skull grunts like it had been fired from a cannon. Kong yawned and rolled over. Saru hadn't even given it a command. "Master, is this such a good idea?" Saru didn't answer verbally. Instead, setting a hand on the boys head and pulling him in as a father might his child.
Chibi didn't resist but nor was his concern suspended as the battle pressed on until Saru was the victor. Kong had hardly cared to move, mid-battle or otherwise. The only acknowledgment he had at all was the groove carved into the grass from when he had swung his arm battering his opponents aside. Yawning again the ape eyed Saru and for the first time, the monk's smile faded. "Kong." The ape didn't blink but a shirt time later rolled over to face away from its trainer promptly scratching its rear end. "At least he's not mad this time." Chibi replied walking back towards Tay. "Are you ok Tay?" The boy asked looking between her and Avikna having watched some of their battles.

The fight didn't last much longer as soon as Aislin stepped in. The canine had easily dealt with the Team Skull goon, and just as quickly turned her sights on the male in question, paw still frozen in ice. 'If only attacking humans wasn't frowned upon.' She muttered. Avikna ignored this statement, stepping up past Aislin. The male stood up straight as soon as he saw Avikna approaching. Someone strong in aura could defiantly see the fire burning around her wildly lapping at the air. Aislin stepped back some, she didn't want to show fear, but she couldn't hide the look of concern on her face. She'd seen this aura back when they confronted Avikna's father. It wasn't quite as strong as it was then, but it was enough for the Lucario to understand she was upset. "Yo,you wanna throw hands one on one!?" The male shouted, swinging his hands around as if taking that saying literally. "I ain't afraid of no girl." He stated. "But, da boss would be real mad if I hit one." he added. Avikna stopped about 4 or so feet from the grunt, her arms firmly folded at her side. "I'm not afraid of any man." Avikna stated. "And I don't care who would be mad at me for hitting one." She added. Save Tay, but a quick look back told Avikna what she was about to do would be easily forgiven. With a half grin, the red-head turned back to the grunt, eyes holding a firm determination. Her intimidation meter was skyrocketing, forcing a small chunk of the grunts standing behind their 'superior' to either back away, then run, or just run right away. Looking back, he could see his posse was quickly dwindling. With not to many healthy Pokemon on their side, he was finally realizing just how muh they'd bitten off. But before his instincts and common sense told him to run as well, the male of the two 'superiors' was met face to fist. Avikna's fist collided with the man's lower jaw. She didn't hit him hard enough to dislocate it, but it was enough to get her message across. Falling back he held a hand to his jaw, massaging it. "Yo? That all you got? You were talkin' real big, bu-" "Shut up." Avikna interrupted. "That was a warning you idiot. Next time I'll rip your jaw out of your head so all you can do is gargle." She stated. Empty threats, but with a well placed popping of her knuckles, the grunt bought it. "Y-y-y-yea? I'd l-l-l-like ta s-s-see you try!" Oh really now? A fake with her fist made him duck, but what actually hit him was a swift kick to his lower torso, knocking the grunt to the ground, clutching his gut. "Ohhhh!" A few braver grunts returned, cowering as they grabbed the one on the ground. "Yo! Let's get outta here!" One shouted. "Yea, that dude and chick are way outta our league!" Another cried. "Right now I fear them more than I do the boss!" It seemed they were finally retreating. Avikna was sort of.. relishing in this. She hadn't used intimation in a long time, and it was satisfying knowing she used it on idiots like these guys.

Being back on Route 2 reminded Naomi of his first day in Alola, and how he'd spent it exploring a vast majority of Melemele Island. It hadn't been that long since that day, and yet, as he traveled up the dirt trail, careful to make sure that certain individuals--aka Empress Jingū--didn't wander into the tall grass--he felt as if it'd been months. Once they'd made it past the berry farm, a place he was still interested in exploring, Naomi turned to Rotom for directions to Verdant Cavern, only to find the 'dex staring intently at the sleeping Mori tucked away in his arms. "Is something wrong, Rotom?" he asked, slowly. A motorized hum came from within the machine, before finally Rotom glanced away from Mori and in Naomi's direction. "I think your cat is sick," he stated, simply.
"Now before you get your yukata in a twist, I don't think it's anything serious. There's been a virus going around lately called Pokerus--not that I expect you to recognize it--it's real weird, makes the infected pokemon stronger. But, it would explain why Mori here hasn't been eating too much, and why he's sleeping now." Rotom, after explaining himself, turned to look back at the Litten, who still slept peacefully. "I'd say... give him until this afternoon, he oughta be feeling better by then." Naomi hummed, then hesitantly joined Rotom in looking over at Mori. Rotom was a pokemon himself, and had access to the world-wide web and more information than he, so he didn't have reason to doubt his diagnosis. But, at the same time, he wasn't a medically certified doctor. "...Until this afternoon," he eventually agreed. "And if he has not improved by then, I shall take him to Nurse Joy." Rotom nodded his head, but it was accompanied by the least subtle of eye rolls, "Yeah, alright. You do that, kid." What? Did he not trust his information or something?

Naomi smiled gently, understanding Rotom's disgruntlement, and nodded his head in thanks in lieu of commenting. He gestured, with his head since his hands were a bit full, for his team to follow, and together they continued up the trail. The usual chipper Empress Jingū hustled to join Naomi by his side, and when she drew close enough she chirruped worriedly up at him. The trainer looked down at the fruit-shaped pokemon before he smiled, and looked pointedly over at Mori. "Are you worried about your friend?" He didn't need to ask, however, he'd observed the two pokemon long enough to know that the two were rather close; it made sense that one friend would be worried about the other. Despite its obviousness, Jingū still nodded and chirped in confirmation. "Do not worry. Mori will make a full recovery," Naomi assured, and his tone, accompanied with the genuine belief in his gaze, helped to assure her. "Boun~" She remarked determinedly, and seemingly returned to her more cheerful nature; her natural skipping helping to assist.

After discovering Mori's illness, and consoling Jingū, Naomi had forgotten that he'd meant to ask Rotom where their destination lie. Luckily for him, he had Ieyasu. The Eevee, fully aware of his human's plans and what was needed of him, nudged the dark-haired male as they neared the route's center before glancing purposefully at Rotom. It took Naomi a moment to understand the look, and twice he had to look between Ieyasu and Rotom, but eventually he connected the dots. "Oh!" He turned to Rotom, determined. "Rotom. Where is Verdant Cavern exactly?" Rotom, saving his typical snark for a more appropriate time, simply gestured, with his head (i.e. his entire body), to the right. "Just over here. Can't miss it." Naomi nodded and followed the directions, and came upon the cavern's entrance not a minute later; Rotom was right, it was impossible to miss. "Let us go!" He cheered, careful to keep his voice down for Mori, and eagerly shuffled his way inside.

Saru thought hearing Avikna's threats to the grunt. Though even by his standards ripping someone's jaw off was a little excisive. He wasn't sure if she was being serious or not. Her aura had shifted from mild announce to full on rage and judging by the Pokemon she'd chosen to deal with the Grunt he dared not intervein. It was easy to see, without or without the aura, that it would be a losing fight to step in. Even to attempt calming her. Even if his team was at full strength, which it very much wasn't, he didn't think he'd be able to beat even this humanoid canine she'd called to her side, nevermind five others of comparable strength. "Wow, she's scarier than you when mad Master." Chibi giggled at his side. "A good enough reason not to provoke her then." He warned patting the boys head still cradling the injured Passimian.
As soon as the grunts had left Saru handed the Passimian off to Chibi in order to change out the guard on his team. Aside from King Kong and King Louie, he had no one left aside from the Pan trio. The last grunt was much stronger than his counterparts. Saru wonder if he'd have been able to beat the others had he lead the charge? It was just further proof of his reasoning to leave the temple and become stronger. He couldn't grow confined within those stone walls anymore. He needed to battle trainers like them. Win or lose he'd walk away stronger he was sure of it. Looking to Chibi made it even more important that he needed to become stronger. The same was probably true with Avikna.
Saru began shuffling through the small collection of items he'd pilfered off the disgraced grunt. He came across a disc reminiscent of the one Tay had given to her Vivi. This one a clay brown colored one. Flipping the disc over he noted no distinguishing features of markings on either side. OIt alone the edges. He traded it with Chibi for the Passimian who he began nursing now that he wasn't beset by attackers and could afford to treat it. "See if it would be an off value to Tay." He said pulling from his sleeves the same jar as before. "Yes, sir." Chibi replied then trotted off to the young girl's side. "Master Saru wanted to know if this is like that other disc and if youed want it? Holding the disc up, the boy to inspected it. Curiosity was infectious over this strange object.

As the grunts retreated, Avikna folded her arms and watched. She wanted to be sure they were completely gone, and not just going to hide. Her stance was firm, like an iron wall. Tay in the meantime quieted her cheering over Avikna's intimidation win, to tend to her Pokemon, who'd fallen during the last battle. She knew there was a Pokemon Center nearby, so as she returned her Pokemon she promised them they'd get healed real soon. As Avikna finally made her way back, Chibi approached Tay, offering another one of those discs from earlier. Tay tilted her head. It was brown, unlike the ones she had... but it was shaped like them. Pulling one from her bag she held it close to the one Chibi offered. "It is!" She finally exclaimed. They both had the same letters, along with the words 'Memory: FIGHTING' etched into it. "I do want it~" The teen added, but then her gaze ventured over to Avikna. The red-head gave a side glance but continued walking. "That's up to you." She stated. Tay smiled, nodding wide. Turning back to Chibi she held out her hands, seemingly forgetting she was still holding the other memory in them. "Yes, please!" She wanted to put it on Vivi right away, after he was done being healed that was. She wasn't actually aware though, that having him installed with the fighting memory was actually a very good, and convenient thing.

Along the way, Ducky introduced Lucina properly, as well as officially greeting her. The topic of which he was concerned about had not been brought up, so that was a relief. However, it still felt like Lucina was a bit displeased with him for whatever reason, even though she was not being outwardly rude or anything like that. He watched the elegant gardevoir as she walked beside him. She was 'dressed' in a very traditional manner that he was used to seeing in his family. There didn't seem to be any hint to her unusual typing.
"Hey, what's up with the new chick and big kitty?" Ducky looked over to Daiki, who was on his opposite side, illusioned as a tattooed green haired male. In response, he elbowed the trouble-making Zoroark. "Ow! Jeez..." Daiki exclaimed, rubbing his 'wound'. "This is Lucina. She's going to accompany us through Alola. And... uh... This is Solgaleo. I'm... still not sure..." he explained quietly. It felt awkward to be referring to the legendary by it's species name, but he also wasn't sure it's reasoning for following him or if this was going to be long term enough to earn a nickname. Or would nicknaming it be disrespectful? Either way, he suddenly had an idea. "Hey, Daiki, could you disguise Solgaleo too? It'd make traveling less awkward." Ducky asked the illusionist before they could pass anyone. "Sure thing." the male grinned, snapping his fingers as if it was a magic trick.
Suddenly, Solgaleo was no longer a giant steel lion. He was a blond male about the same height as Ducky. In this new 'form', the Solgaleo exited the bushes to join up. "If this makes it easier, so be it." he accepted the new shape he was taking on thanks to Daiki. The Zoroark turned his attention towards Lucina, and she shot him a sharp look. "Don't you DARE illusion me." she insisted with an edge to her tone. Her green gaze was quite serious, and that was enough to cause Daiki to raise his hands in defeat.

It was a lot easier to continue traveling now that he didn't have to worry about being spotted walking around with a legendary from this very region. It was definitely not the kind of attention he had wanted. However, he found it funny that Daiki had chosen that illusion for Solgaleo's disguise. A younger Daiki once used that illusion quite a lot. He shook off the thoughts, turning his attention back to Lucina. She was already seeming like she had a hostile aura towards Daiki. "Ah! I thought no one could be as beautiful and cruel as my darling Haru-chan! Be still, my heart!" Daiki lamented dramatically. Ah, that's right. Haru, his Delphox that Daiki often harrassed, but was usually the subject of the Zoroark's affections. It was really for the fire fox's sake that he didn't let him out too often, especially when Daiki was out and about.
"So... um, Lucina? Where's the first gym on this island?" Ducky asked the gardevoir. She gave him a look as if to say 'are you serious?', then sighed. "There aren't any 'gyms' in Alola. At least, not in the same sense as the other regions. The League is new to this region, and the terms are a bit different. There are 8 captains that must be defeated, and you get a stamp, which is essentially a badge, for each one you defeat. It used to work that the captains would overlook the island trials, which most still do as well as manage 'gym' challenges." Lucina explained as they continued to walk. "The trials are meant to appease the guardians of the islands." Solgaleo chimed in in a boyish tone. Lucina merely nodded, then continued. "Anyways, you will be challenging Illima first in Verdant Cavern. He specializes in the normal type." the gardevoir finished telling Ducky.
Daiki was following along, staying quite mostly so that he could focus on holding his illusion and the one on Solgaleo. It wasn't a strain, really, but it has been a while since he last illusioned another as well as himself. He needed the practice anyways.
"I see... I think I understand. Thank you, Lucina." Ducky replied after having listened to her explanation. He assumed it couldn't be far, much like any first gym in each region. Heck, back in Johto, Violent City was only 2 towns away from New Bark, where professor Elm gave his starters away.

Knowing that his first challenge was against a normal type trainer, Ducky had absolute confidence that he'd win quite easily. After all, fighting type happened to be his specialty. Jun would be a good bet, too. "Perfect. Then it shouldn't take too long..." Ducky muttered to himself. Lucina 'raised her brow' at him, side-eyeing Ducky. "Why the rush? I thought you wanted to learn more about Alola and it's history." she asked. Ducky raised his arms up, folding them back behind his head in a sheepish manner. "Weeeell.... I still want to go to that winter gala thing. At least just for a bit. It sounds like fun... I just feel an obligation to at least do one challenge before running off." he replied, continuing along the path. Actually, not only that, but he sort of felt like there was pressure on him to show Solgaleo that he was a worthy trainer; to prove his worth to the legendary even though the emissary of the sun had already decided to follow him around. For reasons still unknown to him. "Ah... I see. I hope that after this, you will take your journey more seriously. I have to admit thought... the thought of going to a gala seems quite nice." ►Recalling King Kong proved to be an ... advantage. The first couple of attempts were simply shrugged off and further attempts resulted in an immediate release until finally, the recall stuck. Kong must have grown bored with the back and forth and given up. Not a reassuring sight for anyone to witness. It was something that had bothered Saru the entire way to the Pokemon center. How was he to become stronger if he couldn't properly control his Pokemon? He understood the basic principle to the idea of Gym leaders and badges. Defeat Gym leaders and collect their badges until he had enough to challenge a league fo its championship position. That would mark him as the strongest trainer in that region. But why did Pokemon obey humans based on the possession of a small metal trinket? What intrinsic value did it hold?
Coming upon the Center Saru pushed the quandary from his mind as he set his staff-spear against the wall just inside the door. He'd noticed a great deal of concerned looks from people when he walked around in public with an unsheathed, two-foot blade. In the Johto, he wasn't considered that big of an oddity. Monks where part of the culture. Alola was different. Monks of his nature weren't common by any means. Chibi lead the way after Avikna and Tay. He did all the talking. A switching of the roles between then as Saru, being the recluse he was, hadn't the foggiest of how to go about dealing with this situation at hand. He'd ever needed to use a Pokemon center before. "Thank you, Nurse Joy." Chibi said once Saru had handed over his poke'balls.
Saru and Chibi returning to a moment of training as they wanted. The pair exchanging mock blows with one another for nearly twenty minutes before exhaustion forced Chibi to give in. Saru finished the sparring match by sweeping the boy's legs from under him. "Owww, what was that for!" Chibi whimpered standing and rubbing his rear end. "To condition you to pain." Saru had already begun to head back inside to collect his Pokemon and meet up with Avikna and Tay. "Having the skill is of no value if you can't take a blow yourself. It makes you a glass cannon." Chibi following still holding his rear. "I think you just enjoy hurting people." Saru turned with a grin stuffing his poke'balls back into the hidden pockets in his sleeves. "I do." Back at the side of the girls, Saru gave a shallow bow. Chibi mimicked "Sorry if we held you up." The monk said with a slight shrug. "Kong proved troublesome for the young medic."

It didn't take long for Ducky to reach the pokecenter, going over to the counter to have the nurse heal up his pokemon. Not that they all needed it. His pokemon were returned to him, healthy, and he stepped out of the way with Daiki, Solgaleo and Lucina. Before they got into getting ready to go to this ball, something occurred to him. "Um... so, it's kinda awkward to not have a name to call you by... Would you mind if I called you Katsu?" Ducky asked the disguised Solgaleo. The blonde merely nodded. "Acceptable. You may call me Katsu, if that is what you wish, young suanni." he stated. Dakota was quite relieved by this. It would have been really uncomfortable to be at the ball, having nothing to call the Solgaleo by. And even though the legend was not actually his, Katsu did seem like he was sticking around for the long run. Might as well get used to his company and have a name for him, if that was the case.
"This is a formal event, so I hope you have suitable clothes. I do not want to be dragged along with you dressed so... casually." Lucina told the three, though she was mostly speaking to Ducky and Daiki, as Katsu's appearance was out of his control."Don't worry about it, sweet heart. I got it covered." Daiki smirked, and with a snap of his fingers, the illusions changed. His own image shifted his clothes to a pair of black slacks, a white dress shirt, a neat vest and a tie. Katsu's image changed drastically; he was now a blonde with green-blue eyes that was dressed rather princely. Ducky looked in awe at Katsu's illusion. "Wow! Daiki, I think you're stacking the odds in his favor a bit." Ducky exclaimed, then eyed his illusioned fox friend. Katsu blinked, seeming neutral but confused. "Odds? Why? Is this appearance really that appealing?" Katsu questioned. "Ya. Your current appearance is one that is a favorite among the ladies. While Daiki coached Katsu on how to act at the ball, Ducky had gone off to change into his own more formal attire. It felt weird to be taking off his traditional clothing after having been wearing it for quite a while now. He was very used to it by now, and it almost felt like he was missing something as soon as he took it off. He folded it up neatly before putting it in his bag, pulling out the set of formal clothes that he had aside. It had been mostly for job interviews, but sometimes others really liked the look of him in a suit. He put on his black slacks and tucked in his white dress shirt. It took him a few tries to get the tie right without it being too tight. Once he was done, he returned to Katsu, Daiki and Lucina.
"Looking sharp! Ready to go?" Daiki commented to Ducky. "You Know it!" Ducky exclaimed with a grin. They then approached the butler accompanied by an abra, inquiring about the ball. Soon, they were teleported there without much issue. Though, Lucina had insisted that she would teleport them there herself.

Another Memory in her hands, the young Tay joined Avikna as they advanced towards the Pokemon Center. It wasn't but a few moments later that Saru and Chibi joined them, from there the group offered their Pokemon, Avikna really only needed to offer Dovakin for a bit of R&R, everyone else handed to Joy was Tay's Pokemon. The duo then moved back outside to wait for everyone to be healed up. Avikna lazily rested against the long fence that surrounded the Pokemon Center while Tay ventured down into the grass just below Avikna.
Watching Saru and Chibi spar, the red-head was actually kind of amused. She hadn't really trained herself in quite awhile, which reminded her of the miracle performance she'd held against her father. She'd chalk it up to muscle memory. Though the idea of training Tay in self-defense seemed like a good idea. It'd have to wait for a more opportune timing. Avikna's gaze turned upward as an old man with a fairly large backpack on his back ventured down from the northern route, he stopped at the top of the stairs outside the Pokemon Center and set down his back, huffing loudly. "Durn bag never gets any lighter." He muttered. Looking around, he seemed rather confused at first, but then let out a sigh and shrugged. From there he unpacked his back, revealing himself to be some sort of peddler. Once he sat down on his mat, with a fine collection of odd assortments laying before him, he waved towards Avikna, who just realized she was still staring at him. "Don' be shy, come on over and look et what I have." He beckoned. Tay rushed up the stairs, holding onto the railing, looking eagerly between Avikna and the peddler.
From where she stood, the man had some interesting things. With a mental shrug, she guessed there wasn't any harm in looking. Venturing over she kneeled down to look at his wears. Some of this stuff was rarely found, and some looked darn near ancient. Was this guy a treasure hunter? Avikna gave him a quick glance, he held a kind smile on his face, Perhaps he wasn't a grave robber, but still.... some of this stuff looked like belonged to someone, and not just stuff you'd find lying around. "Look Avikna!" Tay exclaimed. Avikna looked over to find Tay holding forward a fairly large orange flute with a large symbol of a sun on it. "Ah, good eye. I found that beaut on an island just off the way from Poni Poni." The man spoke. "Found? More like stole." Avikna mentioned looking towards the man. "That doesn't look like something people mass produced." She stated with a furrowed brow. The man seemed shocked, closing his eyes and smiling, his hands up as if he was under arrest. "So you've got me, yes, it was on a pedestal of sorts." He replied. Opening his eyes to reveal a sly look. "But I assure you, it's far better off in the hands of someone who will actually use it. See, there is a legend the people talk about in this region.. that flute can summon a mighty Legendary Pokemon, called Solgaleo. He's a giant fire and steel-type, with the look of a Lion. He's said to be the embodiment of the Sun." Avikna found the story far fetched, but Tay was knee deep in the belief train. "He stole it Avikna, does that mean we can take it?" Tay pondered. Avikna narrowed her gaze a the man.. "Yea, and we won't rat him out.. consider that payment." Avikna stated, standing up, a few things caught her gaze, forcing her to lean down at grab them.... specifically a round baby blue and white marble, along with a red candle, she recalled seeing and using once before. Tay followed suit, grabbing a green and purple marble. The man seemed rather flustered by them doing this, but... he couldn't make a fuss.. what was he going to say? Two girls just stole his stolen goods? With a sigh he shook his head. "Fine you win." He shrugged, standing up and began packing his bag again. "I knew stopping here was a bad idea." He muttered.
While Tay and Avikna relished in their mini victory, Tay looked over the marble and the flute, eventually setting the marble into her bag. Curiosity got the better of her and soon enough she'd pressed the flute to her lips and blew... it gave of a high pitched humm, that wasn't bad, but perhaps a bit flat. To be fair, Tay had never held an instrument in her life... so it was astonishing she got a note out at all. Trying again, she eventually got the hang of making noise out of the flute, though it wasn't developing into any sort of melody, it was working, in more ways than one. Nearby, a heavily breathing floating puff ball, that appeared to be a galaxy in the shape of a cloud was making it's way as fast as it could up the route, though it wasn't long before it grew tired....it's exhaustion far overpowered it's want to hunt down that strange Pokemon that had been pestering it back at the mountain near the beach. Though as with any shiny thing, the puffball soon gained the attention of a group of onlookers... a trio of Spearow, their hawk-like gaze placed on their next target. Swooping down the tree of them began to attack the cloud-like Pokemon, forcing it to cry out loudly.
Both Avikna and Tay could hear the Pokemon clearly. Tay looked up to Avikna. "Avikna... did you hear that? It was close by." She stated. "It sounded like a Pokemon cry." She added. Avikna nodded. "Go investigate, I'll go get our Pokemon." She stated. Tay nodded, rushing off, while Avikna headed into the Pokemon Center. The boys had just missed Tay leaving, as they returned. "We weren't even suppose to be together, if you recall." Avikna replied sharply. She felt perhaps that was a bit harsh to suggest, but she was in a rush. "Anyway, I'm going to find Tay, we heard a Pokemon cry a moment ago, I just came back to grab the Pokemon we left with Joy." Pressing forward to leave the Pokemon Center. She didn't hesitate leaving the boys, nor did she care if they decided to follow her, she was on a mission. It wasn't hard finding Tay, the route was open enough, and with the sound of flapping wings it was easy to find her, though Avikna's already upset demeanor grew furious when she saw what was currently happening.
Tay had rushed to the cloud's protection as soon as she saw it being attacked by the Spearow, but now the spearow were furiously attacking her. Before Avikna could do anything about the spearow, a Fearow swooped down from the mountain over head and snatched up Tay by her bag. "Tay!" Avikna shouted. She could see the teen hugging something... it looked cried as both the teen and it were pulled into the sky. "Aislin, Ice Punch that bird down!" Avikna shouted. The Lucario, who had still been hanging around, nodded. This wasn't the time for a smart-a** remark. Leaping off the side of the mountain, the Lucario launched itself onto the back of the Fearow, as it hadn't gotten that far into the sky, and with a downward smash to it's back, her icy fist froze the bird stiff, it's talons opened, dropping Tay and the cloud into the moutain where they tummbled down back onto the ground. Rushing over to the teen's side, she found her knocked out, along with the cloud. "Damn it." The red-head cursed under her breath, quickly pulling Tay into her arms, the teen was light enough to carry. 'Again... I fail to protect you... damn it.'

►"Wow, she shot you down!" Chibi laughed loudly holding his sides. Saru was stood stoic and expressionless. He was neither amused nor offended by the young womens responce. He certainly wasn't hurt in any meaningful way a man should be if he was seeking to court a woman. In fact he wasn't bothered by Avikna's response as much as he was Chibi's. It presented a somewhat harsh reality of how the boy viewed the world and an opportunity to force him to confront the truth of humanity. As for Avikna, he was sure whatever trouble she and Tay had stumbled upon would resolve itself. There was no need to rush to their aid. Besides, he consitred any aid he could provide a potential insult to Avikna's pride. She didn't seem the type to willingly nor openly accept it without begrudging those who aid her. She was perhaps forged in fire to rely on no one but herself.
Saru, at no great hast, followed in her direction. More because it was in the direction of the trial challenge he sorely needed to win. "Chibi, you do realize I'm gay correct?" He remarked half-heartedly. He'd never been overly concerned with how people took to that realization. He'd never let on to his sexuality and kept it relegated to "need to know" only, Chibi, he was realizing might need to know. "Wait, your what?" Chibi inquired bewildered to the worlds meaning. "Gay, it means I'm not attracted to women." Saru explained. "I'm also sworn to abstinence. Which means I'm not allowed to date." The idea must have seemed very foreign to Chibi. He remained quiet and clearly in rather deep thought for the remainder of the trip from the Center up until they came upon Tay and Avikna.
Avikna was on her knees cradling Tay who was unconscious in her arms. Whatever had happened he now cursed himself for not concerning himself with. He had to remind himself that destiny wasn't predictable or easily avoided. What was to be, was to be. Even if he'd come, there was no guarantee his presence would have changed anything significant. He was simply happy that Tay wasn't seriously hurt. He could only tell as much by her Aura but continued use starting to take its toll and Saru was becoming drained. For now, he couldn't call upon its use willingly. Chibi reached out to take the monks hand looking on at the sight before him. A fear in his eyes the Monk was not familiar with but knew. "Tay's fine. just resting." The monk said as he advanced upon Avikna. He had no words to give. He understood the woman enough by now to know nothing he said would calm her. Instead, he offered not wisdom but the aid he was sure she would have refused before. "Would you like me to carry her on my back until she wakes up?"

As Avikna collected Tay into her arms, checking over the girl for any serious wounds, Aislin stepped up, kneeling down with a hand forward. She appeared to be concentrating, but all her training with Aura wasn't helping when it came to that cloud-like Pokemon laying over Tay's stomach. 'That puff-ball has some weird Aura.' Aislin muttered, looking up to Avikna. The red-head looked up as well, but then turned her gaze down to the Cloud. "I've never seen anything like it before. It must be from this region." Avikna replied. Aislin dropped her paw, standing up, just as Saru and Chibi approached. The canine stepped back, letting Avikna have some room to lift the teen up. When she was fully standing, the red-head turned back towards Saru, her gaze sharp, but there was no hiding the worry in them. "No." She replied quickly. She appreciated his offer, but Tay wasn't all that heavy... she appeared healthy, so the weight issue didn't entirely bother Avikna. The red-head shifted her gaze back to Saru quickly. "She's not that heavy."
Whether she forgot to say thank you, or it simply escaped her mind... it wasn't as though Avikna had to carry Tay for to long. Mana looked on with worry in her eyes, closing them to summon a rather... alluring scent from the flower petals around her neck. A groggy grunt escaped the teen's throat, soon after her eyes fluttered open. "Avikna...." The teen forced out. Avikna looked down a sign of relief passing her face. "You're awake already?" Sweet scent was perhaps more useful than she'd initially thought. The teen nodded. Avikna lowered her down, making sure Tay's feet were firmly planted on the earth before releasing her back. In the teen's arms, the floating cloud Pokemon had also woken. "Are you okay?" Tay asked, a tiredness in her voice. The cloud bobbed it's head. "Good. I'm glad. You're really pretty..." The cloud seemed to blush, almost sink into Tay's arms, but then it looked around, a confused look in it's eyes. It then pouted, then sighed. This thing was full of emotion apparently. Looking back up to Tay, then to Avikna, then turning to look towards Saru and Chibi... it seemed to be analyzing something. 'Pew, pew pewpew?' it muttered, looking back to Tay. Seeing as the others would be lost in translation, Aislin stepped up, resting a paw on Tay's shoulder. 'It wants to know if we saw man with a odd Pokemon.' 'Pew pew, pewpe' 'And a Solgaleo? What is that?' Avikna nudged Tay. "Look up Solgaleo." She instructed. "On your Pokedex." Tay nodded, quickly retrieving the device from her waist pouch, pouting some at the tear she noticed in the side of her shirt... she liked this outfit. Using the device she pulled up the mentioned Pokemon, to which, Avikna and Tay both shook their heads. "No, we haven't seem that." They could of been distracted when they'd passed, that was a possibility. In the meantime, Tay used the Pokedex and scanned the creature in her hand... it was noted as a Cosmog. The Nebula Pokemon. It was indeed an alolan Pokemon ... but it said something along the lines of it being.... an Ultra Beast? What the hell was that now? First Mega's, now Ultra Beasts? What next super powerful one-time use moves?

Monferno, was first to be knocked out, but not before taking out one and heavily damaging a second opponent. After that Saru found himself being cornered. He'd lost the forward momentum. But the monk was reveling in the challenge of it all. The heat of a good battle invoked a fanged, toothy smile the likes of which nothing else in life could! the worst the battle went in his favorite the happier he looked until finally he was left with just one usable Pokemon.
