1. Egg nog or hot chocolate?
I always love hot chocolate, especially on cold days. When I went to community college, I always got a cup of hot chocolate from the hot drink vending machine because it was always cold in the morning during the winter.
Egg nog is good, as long as I'm in the mood for it and it's the right consistency. I'm not too fond of egg nog that is thick, I prefer it when it's a bit more smooth and thin. I especially like the Pumpkin Spice or Vanilla Spice Egg Nog we've occasionally gotten.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
I don't recall my "Santa" ever wrapping the presents. If I ever have to take on the role of Santa myself for my future children, I probably would wrap them with special wrapping paper and name tags.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Our new tree has white lights that are pre-attached to the branches. I personally like the blinking colored ones (which were the stringed lights) we had for our old tree; thankfully I'll be getting that tree and the lights to own for myself when I move out.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
My Mom does.
5. When do you hang your decorations up?
Usually after Thanksgiving, either immediately or during the first week of December. Just depends on our schedules and whether we have the energy to decorate.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Honey-baked ham is good.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
So many to choose from. Um... *shrugs* I don't know.
8. What is on your Christmas Wish list?
Books, Movies/TV Show seasons, Music... and the latest addition - Games. This year I'm apparently easier to shop for than I have been in the past (despite always having my wishlist available and handy for them to get things off of). Not sure if it's just because of new interests lately or they're just more inspired on what items I've been needing/wanting.
9. Do you open a gifts on Christmas Eve?
Yep, always have.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Depends on the mood we have for the year and who gets to decorate. I unfortunately I had to work the day Mom decided to decorate for Christmas.
11. Snow? Love it or dread it?
I love it as long as I don't have anywhere important to go.
12. Real tree or fake tree?
We've had a fake tree for a long time now. I miss the smell that fresh ones have but the fake one is so much easier to set up and clean after. Plus you can adjust the branches to wherever you need them to be without them springing back to their original position like real trees would.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
I've had quite a few favorites over the years.
14. What’s the most important thing about Christmas for you?
Getting to spend the holiday with my family (and friends - if the occasion allows it to happen) and seeing their reactions when they open a gift I've been really excited about giving or know they've been wanting for some time.
15. What is your favorite Holiday dessert?
Christmas cookies, I suppose.
16. What is your favorite tradition?
Decorating for Christmas is fun, as long as you actually get to participate. And watching Christmas movies together.
17. What tops your tree?
We used to have a star (which will now be my tree topper when I have my own place) before Mom got an angel to top our new tree.
18. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving?
Giving, especially when you've put so much thought and effort to get something you know they've been wanting.
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
Carol of the Bells and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy are probably my favorites.
20. Candy canes, yuck or yum?
They're pretty good. They can be a bit messy at times though, if you don't have the plastic wrapper still on as a barrier.
21. Favorite Christmas Movie?
The Santa Clause
22. What do you leave for Santa?
We used to leave a glass of egg nog and cookies when we did the Santa thing when I was younger.
23. Do you have a Christmas morning tradition?
Nope, not really.
24. Do you prefer to shop on-line or at the mall?
I'll shop at the mall mostly to find gift ideas (especially if I don't have pre-determined gifts in mind) unless it's something that you can't find in stores and have to order online. That is the case for me this year for one of the gifts I'm getting for my Dad - I'm getting him his own 20 oz. tumbler since he keeps borrowing either Mom's or mine when he's outside working and drinking something other than his Coke. So, I'm getting an official 20 oz. Coca Cola tumbler for him ((which apparently is no longer available after I bought one)).
25. Christmas letter or Christmas card?
Either is fine.
