Noah watched in awe as the birds slowly began to sway in motion eventually bursting into a full of cheer routine the likes he’d never seen before. It was rather impressive to watch, though he wasn’t entirely certain what it was they were attempting to accomplish with the dance. His head absently tilted to the side as they continued to (slowly) roll by the group. The Dewott noted that Sullivan didn’t seem all that interested in the display. Had he seen it before? Probably. It was probably safe to assume that this guy was a native to these islands, else he clearly wouldn’t have known where to go. Plus, he seemed extra focused on navigating despite being a bit teary-eyed and sneezing.
Noah kept his focus on the yellow birds until their performance ended, half tempted to raise his paws and give them an ovation. It was a pretty cool dance but they dispersed quickly before he could find the balance to clap and so he was left just staring off in the space they’d previously occupied. He sighed and his gaze shifted to looking around the meadow once more. Noah blinked and frowned a moment as something caught his eye.

An egg? Sullivan’s head titled as an expression of concern crossed his face. What was an egg doing out here? It certainly didn’t look like it belonged. He gave the otter a pat with his hands to indicate he hold on as he was going to drop his arms away to pick up the egg. Noah seemed to understand, latching his arms around the man’s neck gently and allowing him to free up his arms. Sullivan came to a halt and dropped to his knees to bend over the ledge, doing his best not to lean forward so much that Noah went toppling over as well, Mana flying from his shoulder and opting to rest on the back of Junpei instead while her trainer did his thing. It took a few attempts but eventually he was able to grab and pull up the egg in question.
Plopping back on his rump, Sullivan eyed the egg in his hands. It was smaller than any normal pokemon egg he’d ever encountered and had really odd patterns on it. Little… yellow flower caricatures that semi-resembled the ones in the meadow. Kind of. They were rather crude. Sullivan sneezed and eyed it again. This wasn’t a real pokemon egg, he could tell. So, what was it…? He sneezed again. That would have to wait. He needed to get out of this meadow and down to the hospital. There would be time later to worry about faux eggs. Tucking it into his gym bag he scrambled back to his feet and continued rolling along, rubbing the back of his arm again his nose. The quicker they got out the better. Luckily the route entrance was only a few feet away and without hesitation he picked up speed to escape the allergy inducing meadow and continue on his way to the city.

Oh, wwwoooowwww there were a lot of flowers. Noel had never seen a field so filled before in his life. Sure, it was just yellow flowers (and that was about it) but still… there was just so much and so many. It was crazy. The yellow pollen (was it pollen?) was floating through the air, passing them as the Pidgeot descended to land and it was almost like little yellow fluff bugs dancing in the air. The wind was soft and yet just strong enough to keep them afloat. It was kind of mystical; though he was grateful he didn’t have crazy allergies. He could imagine this being a nightmare if you were allergic to pollen or something.

Noel hopped off as the Pidgeot landed, rubbing absently at his nose as he looked around the meadow. There were rough paths that he could follow but beyond that it was nothing but a giant field of yellow flowers. He perked up a bit as he heard Algernon give a soft yawn, smiling gently as he felt the Espurr adjust himself in his hood, continuing to sleep. The white-haired boy certainly wasn’t going to disturb the sleeping pokemon, though he was missing the presence of one assiting him. Thinking a bit about it he let Hyde out; the Cherrim would appreciate this field of flowers. Noel titled his head as the little pokemon twisted and spun, chirping in delight before diving into the flowers as though they were a body of water to be swum through. Noel giggled and dove after Hyde (sort of, more like stepped into the flowers after him since he wasn’t nearly as short) following through the field after his pokemon while keeping an eye out for any eggs. Of course, Hyde wasn’t aware of the task at hand and so just took to enjoying himself amongst the populace that was his place, spinning and munching on flowers here and there. Which probably would’ve been odd to think deeply about; a flower eating other flowers. Though technically, Hyde was pokemon flower, not a real flower. Of course, if Hyde went chomping on other pokemon, that presented a problem. And they bore witness to just that. In all his excitement, the Cherrim bounded over and chomped an odd-looking plant, eliciting a sharp shriek before the Butterfree in question flung itself into the sky. The Cherrim blinked and stared up a moment, confused at the sudden change of events and even more so at the sudden burst of wind that sent him flying. Noel heard his pokemon cry out and panicked quickly rushing over to see what was going on and noticing the agitated Butterfree. Oh dear. Without hesitation, he sent out Mattimeo, the little round pokemon summoning up a vicious torrent of ice and launching it at the Butterfree.

Noel felt a bit bad about almost turning the butterfly into a block of ice but… it had been attempting to attack Hyde and as far as he was aware, it was for no reason. Quickly Noel went over and scooped the Cherrim up, the little thing having reverted to his bulb form upon being sent flying. Hyde didn’t often do this but when he did it was a pretty serious situation. "Are you okay, Hyde?" Noel inquired, tone worried. Mattimeo bounced up to look, curious about what had occurred. His attention was distracted however and he bounded away while Noel made sure his pokemon was all right.
Eventually Hyde opened and returned to his flower-form, cautiously looking around for the Butterfree that had so unceremoniously attacked him. Noel gave a soft smile, holding the flower pokemon up some. "It’s okay Hyde, it’s gone. You need to be more careful though, okay? You don’t want to get hurt." Noel frowned. That would be a problem. He wasn’t certain where the nearest pokemon center was and while he did have several potions on him, there were just something he wouldn’t be able to use them to heal. Butterfree were notorious for their powders and some of them had nasty effects. That sent a shiver up Noel’s spine. His attention shifted as he heard Mattimeo give a cry and for a moment he thought another pokemon was attacking his, quickly getting to his feet and rushing over. Luckily, that wasn’t the case and instead the Azurill was chirping excitedly for the egg he’d found. "Oh, good job Matti! Thank you!" Noel scooped the egg up and sent it off, giving the mouse a rub between the ears much to his delight. Returning the pokemon for now (and Hyde as well, just to be on the safe side) Noel summoned the rider again and mounted. Now it was time for another island!

Alola had a bunch of places to visit, and for him it was like walking down memory lane. Not that he’d been to a lot of places, but the ones he did get to see in person held a place in his heart. The other places that he knew were mostly based off pictures or readings. Being in the hospital for most of his life did put a damper on his early years of life, but it was nice when he got to escape into the different worlds books had to offer. Some were tales of legendary pokemon, or heroes that saved various regions. Apparently, there were a group of people that had exclusive access to pokedex’s. They were said to be given to people who had certain skills, and excelled in said skill. One was a battler, while another was a breeder. None of the dex holders had the same set of skills.

That was what helped Terrence want to be a trainer, or even a breeder. Some of the stories, the legends, depicted these people as unique. They were the best of the best and never seemed to give up. They banded together and took on all kinds of challenges and obstacles. Together they were unstoppable. Sure some of the stories told of how they failed, but even when they did they never gave up. They kept coming back and eventually won the day. It was stories like these that Terrence loved as a kid. He didn’t know why, but he felt a connection to them. It was like these stories gave his hopeless situation well… hope again.

He remembers some of the stories, for example, the one about a boy named Red. He was the best trainer out there, and was in fact the Kanto league champion. However, even though people praised him, and even thought people wanted to be like him… he vanished. Terrence didn’t understand how someone so successful, someone so strong and famous could just vanish like that. However, the more he read the more he understood. Red was someone who wanted to prove something, he wanted to prove that he could be a great trainer, no the best. However, when he actually achieved that goal everyone started to suck up or try to befriend him. All Red wanted was to be strong, he never wanted all the attention. Terrence understood that quite well.

So when Terrence read on about how it was rumored that he was on Mt. Silver, he had wanted to challenge the legend himself. Of course, Terrence should have known better. Red would have passed away a long time ago, but at the time it seemed so real. It broke Terrence’s heart when his brothers told him that Red was gone, that his time had passed. Some of his siblings even teased him about wanting to be a trainer, saying there was no way his body would last. Terrence hated them for it. It wasn’t impossible, the fact that he was here now was more than enough proof that he could do it. Though his mind always wanders back to that story about Red.

Did Red struggle sometimes too? The way the books made it sound, it was like Red was perfect and had no flaws. However, Terrence knew that wasn’t true. He was sure that Red would have had to go through many trials and had to of faced many challenges. For instance, the fact that his rival was his best friend. At least Red thought so. Some of the textbooks say that his rival hated him, to the point that he wanted to crush Red so badly he’d never battle again. However, Terrence couldn’t see someone who was Red’s rival doing that. Sure his rival was also a league champion for a few minutes before Red beat him, but after a long period of time Terrence was sure that after all their anger was gone that they made up. Red just didn’t seem to be they type to let something like that sit for such a long time. At least he’d like to think so. Terrence turned around and blinked as Az lifted up an egg smiling. He must have not noticed his pokemon searching for the egg. Odd. Shrugging, Terrence left for the next location.
