✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Beltigre! As Dallas stepped into the meadow, he used one more Potion to make sure Beltigre was well and good. Now that the sand was out of Beltigre's eyes, she mewed happily, and wriggled out of Dallas' hands so she could walk on her own. "Alright, I get it, ya strong, independent lady," Dallas said with a small chuckle. She started to wander into the tall, colorful meadow as it came into view, and Dallas tagged along, just to make sure she didn't get into any more trouble. "Pretty colorful place, this island," he muttered. It wasn't really his style, of course, but he could appreciate that it was a really interesting place. It was obviously what compelled so many tourists to come to the region, not to mention the poke'mon. Speaking of tourists...
"Hey, 47 Ronin*," Dallas called out to Saru, "What're you doing around here with your kid any...uh..." His question petered out to a mumble when he turned and found Saru and Chibi to be meditating. Why was I surprised? he thought. I mean, he's a monk, after all. The idea crossed his mind to mess with the two of them while they concentrated, but instead, Dallas took the time to get more acquainted with his forming team of Poke'mon. Dallas put some space between him and the two wannabe yogis, called for Beltigre to come on over, and then he summoned the rest of his team.
First was Riptide, the Aklor. He plopped onto the grass, and immediately started gnashing his dangerous jaws. Then came Queen Bee, the Combee that liked to babble. As soon as Dallas finished giving her a Potion for her slight wound, she started to dart around, trying to get at the flowers that surrounded the place. And last but not least, there was the newest edition in the ball Dallas had taken from the Grunt on Route 1. "Well, let's see what we got here." Dallas clicked the ball open, and out came a Lopunny. The thug wasn't expecting that at all. "Ka...kawaii!" An actual Lopunny? Man, what luck! That soft fur! Those sparkly eyes! Now this has winner written all over it!"
However, the Lopunny quickly made some distance between herself and Dallas, looking timid and fearful. Dallas frowned, but didn't get angry. "Hey, hey, I'm not the bad guy," he said with a pout. He squatted down, which made the Lopunny tremble and hide behind some flowers. That's when it hit him: Dallas just so happened to dress a whole lot like a Team Skull member. "Oh. Duh. Um, hey, c'mon team, who wants some hugs?" His team (even the blood thirsty Riptide) went to Dallas, and received pets along the back and tickles in the sweet spots. Riptide even ended up on his side, mouth open into a toothy grin as Dallas rubbed his soft underbelly. "See? I'm a good guy! At least, I am to Poke'mon! C'mere, it's alright!"
The Lopunny stepped out from behind the flowers, and timidly hopped over to Dallas and the others. She sat down (but not too close) and put out a paw towards the seemingly kind blonde fellow. Dallas shook her fluffy paw, and gave her a scratch behind her ears that made her giggle. "See, not so bad after all, eh? Dallas inquired with a smile. "Not like the guy that stole ya....though, I kinda stole you...but from a thief, so it's cool? I think?" The Lopunny cocked her head to the side, not understanding a bit of it. "Nnnnnevermind. Anyways, how about some food, eh? Ya hungry?" All of the Poke'mon agreed, so Dallas started pulling what supplies he had from his duffle bag.
"Luckily for you guys, I convinced a really snooty shop clerk back in Goldenrod to donate some decent food for us," Dallas told them. He started by giving Beltigre a nice can of Poke'mon food for cat-like Poke'mon, which she ate at hastily. Queen Bee just hovered over to some flowers to get her fill, pollinating and eating at the same time. He grabbed a tin of sardines and opened it for Riptide, but he refused to eat it. "Huh...that's strange." Dallas shrugged, and opened up a package of sweet buns for the Lopunny. She took one bite, and quickly ate both of them like a glutton. "Wow, you really like those Buns, huh? You know what? I'll call ya Buns from now on! You like it?" Buns nodded, and smiled happily.
After awhile, Beltigre, Queen Bee, Buns, and Dallas had had their fill. And, once the cat food can and the sardine tin were empty, Riptide gnawed both of them before swallowing them. Turns out Aklor eat metal. That's rad as hell! Dallas returned Beltigre, Queen Bee, and Riptide, leaving Buns out for some quality time. Dallas smiled as he stood up, and let out a contented sigh. He then looked over at Saru and Chibi's meditation spot. He took in a deep breath, and... "HEY, DHALSIM AND HADJI!** YOU DONE SLEEPING YET!?"

Dallas was too distracting a topic to let go of. He couldn't get the "thug" off his mind. If he really was a thug, Saru was beginning to have doubts about the man's outwards appearance and behavior. Chibi, on the other hand, was already mentally locked away in his thoughts. He could tell by the shift in the boy's Aura. It had turned a softer shade of pink as oppose to its vibrate brighter color. Saru praised him for that. It wasn't easy to calm your mind, especially when you could see the world as they could. More so with Chibi's lack of control over his Aura.
In the meantime, Saru faked meditation in order keep a mental eye on Dallas. Keeping his eyes closed the monk used his hearing and sense of perception to "see" what was going on around him. It didn't hurt he could still make out rudimentary shapes and movements via the Aura. It was an unrefined ability still but a useful one none the less. There was a considerable shift in the man's Aura. "What is he was hiding?" Saru thought, opening his eyes just as the thug yelled at them.
Chibi yelped and jumped to his feet immediately taking a defensive stance. Saru didn't react beyond a slight cringe. Did he have to be so loud? "Stupid question." He thought to himself getting back up and brushing his Gei off, Chibi relaxed doing the same. "We weren't sleeping." Saru remarked. "Though I speculate you already knew that. Do you just go out of your way to be a pain in the a**?" Saru asked sarcastically pulling from his belt six Pokeball's. Before Dallas could respond Saru tossed the orbs into the air calling out their names. "Kikazaru, Iwazaru, Mizaru, Aipom, Mankey, Chimchar, Come on out" In a flash of light emerged six assorted ape Pokemon. Aipom and Chimchar as usual B-lined straight for Saru's shoulders with the others scattering to investigate their new surroundings.
"I believe you had a question? Saru had heard but ignored the beginnings of a question Dallas had begun to ask before noticing he and Chibi were meditating. He was honestly surprised he'd even left them alone to meditate in the first place. Maybe he valued isolation over being the center of attention? That seemed like a contradiction to his vow to follow saru.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Buns the Lopunny "Yeah, I know you weren't," Dallas replied smugly. He glanced over at Chibi, who had nearly jumped out of his skin. The thug chuckled and crossed his arms. "And I wouldn't call it being a pain in the a**. I prefer to think of myself as...abrasive." Buns caught a glimpse of Saru and Chibi, and quickly hid behind Dallas' legs. It seemed she was still pretty timid. And when all of the monkey poke'mon came out, she held on to Dallas' pants even harder. "Hey, relax, Buns," he said reassuringly. "It's just a bunch of poke'mon." Buns got less anxious, and started to peek out even more to go and socialize.
Dallas urged Buns to go explore a little, and she finally hopped off into the meadow to play. Once she was off, Dallas remembered his question to Saru. "Oh yeah, that's right," he said. "I was wondering what you're doing in Alola. You and your kid on vacation or something?"

He had sensed its cautiousness when Dallas first released it from its ball. It was scared and alone. Being taken from one trainer to the next would do that. At least Dallas was treating it well, so far. Saru still had his reservations of the man. Abrasive was probably the best word to describe him though. He was like sandpaper on wet skin. He did more harm than good. "Abrasive, yes well~" Saru repeated absentmindedly scratching the back of his head. Chibi looked up confused but quickly turned on Dallas with the full extent of his somewhat adorable wrath.
"Let's get one thing straight Babe Ruth~" Chibi began. His small girlish voice taking on an only higher pitched and more feminine tone. If it was meant to seem intimidating in any way, it wasn't. "He is not my father!" Saru had to strangle a chuckle watching as the boy stormed off into the meadow. Aipom close behind. Saru understood better than anyone how Satoshi felt. His amusement wasn't directed anywhere by at Chibi's voice, and his quick-witted joke. With Chibi out of the way, Saru released his pent up but short-lived laughter before dealing with Dallas.
Catching his breath Saru turned to Dallas to answer his question. "Well as Chibi put it. I'm not his father. Simply his guardian." turning to look at the boy continue on his way Saru felt he might as well explain in detail why they had come to Alola as well as Chib's outburst. "The boy and I share a gift, or in his eyes a curse." He began. "This "gift" is rare and can cause a great deal of hardship for those born with it. I was orphaned because mine but he was beaten and left for dead by his own father. The temple I grew up at tasked me with his teachings and care. Which brought us here." Glancing back Saru wasn't sure he expected any sort of an emotional response. Not that he felt one was really necessary. Dallas seemed the type to ruin such a thing with a crude joke or something "abrasive".

Dallas was very amused by Chibi's outburst. Especially his comeback at all the smack-talking. Dallas smiled just a little bit, and scoffed a little laugh as the child stormed off. "Oh no. Stop. Don't run off kid." His deadpan delivery amused himself even more, but he quickly turned back to Saru and actually found him to be laughing, too. "Oh wow! Liu Kang can laugh!" But soon, the laughter subsided and everything was back to it's normal on-edgeness.
And then, he got the scoop about Chibi. It turned out he was abandoned and beaten down. He watched Chibi storm off as Saru explained, and started to lose his grin. Even with the obvious jab that could be made at the cliche'd superhero line, Dallas kept his mouth shut and listened up attentively. He knew a thing or two about not being wanted and dealing with hardship, but not with having any sort of hokey "gift". And it sounded like they were here in Alola for some learning. Dallas rested his hands on his hips, and nodded in understanding.
"Huh. So he really is a boy," Dallas muttered. "I was kinda shooting in the dark on that one, the way he squeals like a girl n' all." Dallas sighed, and shrugged his shoulders. "But, hey, in all seriousness, that sucks about his dad n' all. Looks like he's still sore about it." He watched Buns wandering around, smelling flowers, but she seemed to be interested in Chibi and Aipom and tagged along. "Yeah, he's gonna have a tough time of it, for sure," Dallas commented. "But, hopefully he'll learn to get over it. Hate for him to try to become a tough guy like me and get his a** kicked, eh?" Dallas smirked, but then something popped into his brain. "So yeah, what's this 'gift' you and the kid got?"

He wasn't being an "a**" about what he just said. It felt too guanine and thoughtful. Like something, he was saying from personal experience. Everyone experienced pain in at least one of its many forms. It was impossible not to. For that matter, it was impossible to not experience pain in a great multitude of forms. It was none the less a sort of kindred connecting to find those who's greatest pain was similar to your own. It remained to be seen if Dallas simply emphasised with or had known of the pain of abandonment.
Saru was most surprised at the man's assertion that if Chibi didn't learn to overcome his past he might turn out a Dallas look alike. A shiver ran down his spine as the thought. Chibi was too innocent and pure to imagine walking around with a ship on his shoulder, never mind a bat. the mental imagery was enough to make Saru shack his head to dislodge the thought. Thankfully Dallas provided the perfect mental distraction. "Is not easily explained." Saru begin solemnly. The aura wasn't something he had had to explain since his childhood. "We can persive the aura given off by living creatures. It can be like a colored light or a sixth sense. It lets us know things others couldn't normally. A person's intentions for instance." Saru explained with closed eyes collecting his thoughts and compiling them into a tangible and somehow logical sounding fashion. "Your aura for instance, when i first saw it was bright but tainted but now I can't. It comes and goes."
Meanwhile, Aipom had caught up to and was now clinging to Chibi's back as he walked. The tiny purple monkey made it quite clear it wasn't letting the boy out of her sight. Even as Chibi tried twice to set her on the ground. "Aipom pom pom!" She would protest jumping back onto Chibi's shoulders. "Gah, fine, whatever!" Obviously he wasn't getting rid of his tag along. "Aipom om" Plopping down in the meadow Chibi watched curiously as the Lopunny approached. "Whats that Pokemon I wonder?""A~ Aipom?' Chibi swatted at the monkey on his back. "Ouch, what the?" Shifting his potion on the ground Cio pulled from under his butt a hard painted egg. "Ok, that's weird?"

Dallas cocked a skeptical eyebrow at Saru as he explained his gift. It was something he'd only heard about in movies, but he couldn't act like it wasn't possible. "So, you won't believe me that their variant types of Poke'mon, but you want me to believe that you can see people's auras? You sure like your double standards, don't ya, Ben Kenobi*?" Still, he heard the monk out. Why lie about something like that? "Gotta say, sounds like a badass power to have," Dallas said. "You could tell if someone was gonna try and screw you over and stuff, right?" Saru's next nugget of information answered that inquiry; apparently Dallas' aura came and went. The thug looked over his shoulder as if he'd see something, and shrugged. "Huh, well that's kinda weird, I gue-Hey, wait a minute! Whaddaya mean, 'tainted'?" Dallas shot a look at Saru, and furrowed his brow. "You trying to say my aura sucks or something, bro?"
Over in the meadow, Buns kept out of arms' reach of Chibi and Aipom, but still tagged along, even as it seemed that Chibi didn't want any company. Hopping in and out of the flowers was fun, nevertheless, and she soon approached the child with newfound courage. When she did, she got a glimpse of the odd egg that Chibi had found. She sniffed it, and it didn't smell like a poke'mon egg. It was odd, but very pretty. She thought about if she could take it, when something caught her eye just a few feet away: Another egg, much like the other one. She hopped over and picked it up hastily. Unfortunately, Buns was a real klutz, so it slipped out of her paws. She scrambled to catch it with her ears, and held it for a minute before tripping over a root. And then, the chase was on again for the pretty egg.

"No, not quite." Saru began. "Everyons aura is a different color. The color indicates their most common emotioal state with its intensity being their second most common." Saru relaxed looking over his shoulder to see Chibi chasing Aipom who was, in turn, chasing the Lopunny who was chasing a rock as it rolled down the hill. He raised and eyebrow at the "game" confused but went on. "For instance Chibi's is pink but when he's upset it turns green at its center. It's tainted by an emotion not normally expressed." Watching as Chibi and Co drew closer saru could see the rock as in fact an egg of some sort.
Meanwhile~ Chibi watched with an amused expression as the lopunny battled to kept hold of a second egg it had found not too far from the first. Each attempt was a failure but the poor Pokemon kept at it. Dropping it, tripping over a root and ultimately having to give chase down the hill as it rolled away. Aipom, seeing the chase as a race leaped from the boy's shoulders to give chase to the brightly colored egg as well. "Hey, wait up!" Chibi called rushing after the Pokemon.
As the chase neared Saru and Dallas Chibi stopped to catch his breath. "Master~ Saru~ Aipoms~" Saru rested a hand on the boys head to silence him. "I can see. Aipom thinks it's a game." Saru remarked calmly watching the chase up the egg rolled out of the meadow "Ok, never mind. Dallas lets go." Saru said loudly giving chase himself now. "If Aipom gets a hold of ~ well whatever that is, she'll run off to who knows where to hide it!" Saru wasn't sure if the lopunny would chase after Aipom if that happened. They'de both lose their Pokemon if that happened.

"Oh, well I can pick up what you're throwin' down, pal," Dallas said. "You're a living mood ring, congratulations. I'm sure there's some real 'Karate Kid Part Two' sort of thing you can do with it if you practice or whatever. You know maybe you can use Aura Sphere or something, huh?" Dallas was half-inquiring, half-mocking Saru; he wasn't sure what all this Aura Reading could do, but it did sound like it could be something very useful. Then again, when he hit me across the back, I doubt he needed an aura reading to tell I was pissed off, He thought. He shoved his hands in his pockets as Saru continued to carry on about Auras.
Suddenly, Chibi hit the scene, panting. Saru's Aipom and Buns however, were still going, chasing after what could only be described as a rather colorful egg. "What the hell?" Dallas started to chase after Buns as she fumbled to catch the egg. "Buns, take it easy! You're gonna hurt yourself!" Buns didn't listen, however, and made her chase even more intense as she bounded from stump to grass to branch to rock in an attempt to catch the egg. She finally leaped and caught it in her paws, but didn't stick the landing; she rolled a few times before flopping on her belly. However, the egg was still intact and in her possession!
When Dallas finally caught up, he lifted Buns to her feet. "Geez, Buns, you got yourself hella dirty," he complained. Buns didn't seem to mind, too excited to present the egg to her new trainer. He eyed it carefully before taking it. He shook it, and then gave it a lick (and it tasted pretty nasty), before giving up on figuring out what it was. "Oh well. Thanks, Buns." He tussled her head fur, which made her giggle happily. And then, they were off once again.
The next area was another spot that was tucked away, hidden in a small path that lead in from the mountains. Stone rose above a sprawling meadow of gold, swaying lightly from the faint wind that blew in. He was reminded of Floraroma Town, albeit with one type of flower, and on a much smaller scale.

If he really was a thug, Saru was beginning to have doubts about the man's outwards appearance and behavior. Chibi, on the other hand, was already mentally locked away in his thoughts. He could tell by the shift in the boy's Aura. It had turned a softer shade of pink as oppose to its vibrate brighter color. Saru praised him for that. It wasn't easy to calm your mind, especially when you could see the world as they could. More so with Chibi's lack of control over his Aura.
