~ Catherine awoke on the New Day ~
As per usual Rin was up rather early, still not completely relaxed in the new environment. Though after two straight days of early starts to explore the city, the young girl refrained from attacking her brother and instead look over to a nearby set of drawers where the neatly placed set of clothes they retrieved yesterday would rest... The top-most outfit being one she refused to admit wanting. While Rin had waited yesterday, Gin apparently went and got it as well, he could tell what she was thinking most of the time even when she hid it. And the fact it was here proved she failed to talk him out of it.
Catherine cast a glance at her resting brother, ears raised, seemingly on alert as she couldn't help but think... "Maybe... Before anybody sees me..?" The Shifter muttered under her breath as she pick up the third set of clothes and sneak her way out of the room and into the bathroom. Rather than lock the door however she'd just close it behind her. It's not likely anybody will be up before she can try it on? Besides, it would be more likely the noise it makes would probably wake one of the other Shifters.
With a little bit of patience and careful hands to avoid stretching the fabrics, she swapped from her bed clothes. First the black tank followed by the deep pink off-shoulder shirt. Then the biege shorts and long, black socks.
Once she was all dressed up the girl couldn't resist letting loose a bright grin. "It IS really cute... And comfy..." Sadly Rin knew she couldn't afford to be seen in it, especially by the others in the house... What if they saw? With her upper back barely covered, the deep scar was out in the open for all to see... She wasn't bothered in the slightest what others thought. The exception would however be Gia, Ven or most importantly, Gin. How would her brother act if he knew? "...He's had enough stress, I can't add to that." Rin whispered with a disgusted tone. For the time being she chose to just sit in the bathroom and get the fascination out of her system, once she's can she can change back and put it away before anyone notices.

ββββββββββββββββββββ A morning person Gin was not. What was one thing that could get even a half dead shifter male out of bed when all heβd rather do is curl up into a little ball and sleep the day away? The bladder. Everyoneβs bane in the morning. There was no avoiding it and no ignoring it, not unless you want to be really embarrassedβ¦So, when his bladder started shouting, βOi! Get up! Lets go!β he wasnβt inclined to ignore natures call. Half awake, Gin dragged himself from the mass of pillows and blankets that had become his bed. He hardly noticed Rinβs absence β for all he knew she was still curled up in a ball in the center of his bed buried in comforters. In any case, as the male shuffled down the hall toward the bathing chamber, he had no indication or suspicion that the room might be occupied.
Yawning wide, he stretched his limbs a little and scratched behind one of his ears as he grasped the door handle and pushed the barrier open. Looking up, he was surprised to see Rin. At first all he saw was her dressed in some of her new clothes, which he was happy to see, but as his gaze moved over the garments, his eyes inevitably moved to the mark on her back β a mark heβd never seen before.
It was like a punch to the gut. The impact to his torso, metaphorically, was enough to wake him up. Not only that, but he felt his previously contented mood do a complete one-eighty. To say that he was upset would have been the understatement of the century. Gin was livid. There was no doubt in his mind where Rin had gotten the mark from or more specifically, who β their pack. Or former pack. This explained why his precious little sister had flinched when heβd embraced her β she feared contact, even from him. He didnβt blame herβ¦
Ears flat against his head, he growled low, deep down in his throat. Gaze locked on her shoulder, even as Rin tried to move to hide it from him, he shook his head, disregarding anything she might be saying to explain the mark. βIβm going to kill them allβ¦β With those growled words hanging in the air between them, Gin stomped back down the hall, bypassing his room and heading for the stairs. He had one goal in mind β find his former pack members and make them pay.

A look of panic spread onto Catherine's face when she heard steps outside the room... Before she could rush to the lock it was too late and in came the last person she would've liked at this time... She wasn't even able to turn fast enough to hide the ugly marking on her back and Gin was already giving his reaction... Words weren't needed, he was clearly furious. "B-brother I..! It's... Not what y-" Rin froze... He wasn't buying it, he knew full well where it came from... Maybe not who, but he had a rough idea.
Gin's ears went low... A simple growl was all he gave. "Gin... P-please..!" She started to quiver as tears would creep through. The next thing her brother said gave her chills and she knew... She had to do something... He could get hurt... Even if not, their family didn't deserve to even be acknowledged and she wanted him to think the same. Rin shook her head and ran after him.
The girl gripped the doorway to his room and grabbed at his arm, trying to stop him from recklessly going off. "G-Gin please, don't go..! They aren't worth it!" The girl almost screamed to her brother, a pleading expression all over her face. "It doesn't matter what they did... They can't do anymore, right..? Please..?" Her yells reduced to a whimper and her ears curled downward, hoping he wasn't deep enough in rage to block her out...
"I'll do whatever, just please don't go there... Don't give them the satisfication..." Rin's grip went loose and she soon sat on her legs on the floor, a quiet whimper was all she'd utter every few seconds. Tears would run down her cheeks and onto the wooden floor as for a moment Rin thought he was dead set on what she thought he was about to do.

ββββββββββββββββββββ Gin felt white hot rage rolling through him in waves β rageβ¦and guilt. Rin had been his responsibility. She was his precious little sister. Heβd made a vow to protect her and heβd failed. So, what could he do aside from beat the ever-loving s**t out of the one responsible? Then he could beat the crap out of himself, and he would in time, physically and emotionally. But first, he had his former pack to deal withβ¦
Gin had been about to march down the hall when he felt Rin grab his arm to stop him. Her pleading tone slowly but surely broke through the haze of anger that clouded his judgement. Grinding his teeth together, his tail stiff in agitation, his ears turned back against his head, it was clear he was pissed off. But now, there was something more important, more urgent, than satisfying his need for revenge β the need to sooth his sister.
Gin never could stand to see Rin cry. Each tear she shed was like a dagger to his already battered heart. Turning to look at her as she slumped to the ground, her hand still clutching his arm, he opened his mouth only to bite down on his lower lip. 'Damn those so-called parents, and damn me tooβ¦'
Before he could think better of it, Gin moved to kneel in front of his sister. Wrapping his arms around her he pulled her close and pressed her face against his chest as she cried. As gently as he could, he rubbed her back and tried to sooth her. Deciding it was better to move back into their room, knowing Rin wouldnβt want Gia or Ven to see, he scooped Rin up into his arms and carried her inside, shutting the door behind them.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Gin didnβt say anything as he held Rin in his lap. On some level, he knew that she needed to cry. Ever since sheβd arrived sheβd been putting on a brave front, but he knew better. When heβd been hurt, crying had seemed like the only thing he could do. In all honestly the release of emotion had helpedβ¦so maybe, this was what Rin needed now; to cry and be held by someone that loved her.
βIβm sorryβ¦that I made you cryβ¦.and Iβm sorryβ¦.thatβ¦I wasnβt there to stop it.β He whispered, his throat tightening with emotion. While some of his anger and rage had faded, the guilt was still there in full force and it was likely that it wouldnβt be going away anytime soonβ¦

ββββββββββββββββββββ Why Rin had stopped him, he would never know. The bastards that had hurt her, picked on her, bullied her, hurt her all her life, they deserved the worst punishments imaginable. Now that he was older, he was capable of dishing out those punishments, but no, Rin wouldnβt allow it. Why? No. Friggin. Idea. All he could surmise was that his little sister was just too pure, too sweet to want to see any of her tormenters punished.
Fine. She didnβt want him to go after them, then so be it. Just as Gin had begun to calm down she went and told him that their so-called father had been the one to wound her. A deep, low growl emanated from his chest. Now he really wanted to march out of the house and run head long until he found the b*****d and beat the ever-loving snot out of him.
Rin slipped from his arms, moving to stand in front of him in defiance. He let out a deep huff at her words. He knew that she knew that once he gave his word, he wouldnβt break it. Hence the need for the promise. Ears tipped back, he frowned deeply.
βFineβ¦I wonβt go after them. But mark my words Rin, if they come looking for either of us, I will act accordingly.β It was the best he could promise. He wouldnβt go seeking out her tormentors, but he knew one day theyβd come looking for him and then, then he would get his revenge on them for what theyβd done to her.
Rising from the bed, Gin reached out and wiped her face and eyes of any stray tears before turning around and crouching down. βHop on, weβre going to go get something sweet to eat.β Once sheβd climbed onto his back he headed downstairs to see what they could scrounge up for food.

Hearing her brother agree to what she said was a relief. While not entirely what she wanted to hear... It was a compromise that she would just have to settle with. In truth she wouldn't blame him if they turned up. "Fine..." She said. Her gaze remained on her brothers face for a time, watching his expressions. Rin knew it was gonna be tough to keep her brother calm, let alone herself. "...Sorry I didn't tell you before." Regret was clear in her tone as her eyes narrowed, trying to prevent any future tears. She rubbed her eyes across her arm in a poor attempt to dry her eyes.
One thought did linger deep in her mind. Why? Even she wondered why she'd refuse to make them pay... Maybe Rin believed fate would punish the family in time? Or perhaps something in her was worried about her brother getting hurt. As strong as he was, who was to say he'd come out unharmed? Maybe it's a collection of reasons, reasons that Rin herself wasn't entirely sure of.
Finally they had calmed and Rin watched Gin, baffled when he crouched for a short second. Oh, right. How can I forget? She pondered, it was unlike her to forget such a habit. Between her conflicted emotions she managed to force a slight smile before hopping up onto her brothers back, arms hugging his neck while they went scavenging downstairs. As far as Rin cared, she didn't feel like leaving the house today...

ββββββββββββββββββββ [ - Begin Interaction for New RP Day - ]
As an Oracle, or as Gin liked to refer to himself an βOracle-in-trainingβ, the visions he received werenβt always straight forward. Some were just snippets of events, blurred faces, mumbled words that he couldnβt make out, while others were crisp, sharp and clearer than if he were experiencing the event himself. Some of his visions were happy, others downright gruesome. But on occasion there were some visions that were just plain puzzling. The vision heβd received last night was one of those; puzzling and vague but at the same time he was left with a clear sense of foreboding.
Rolling onto his side, away from his sister who still laid curled on her side, facing away from him as she hogged the covers, Gin sighed. It was the oddest thing and yet he knew it was important. Closing his eyes, he did his best to relive the vision, taking in all the details that he could.
[ - Seated in one of the cushioned auditorium chairs, Gin looked around the Grand Auditorium, the constant chatter around him grating on his sensitive ears. The person whoβs eyes he saw through were not his own β he could clearly see himself in this vision, which was a rarity in and of itself. Gin rarely had visions that involved himself, and yet, there he was, seated next to his sister β it was the first day of the new year, the welcoming ceremony. Continuing to look through the unknown personβs eyes, he watched as Gannon spoke at the podium, but the person wasnβt interested in the court mage, no, the vision turned toward a man off to the sideβ¦
Dressed in an elegant cloak lined with white fur, his long, black hair trailed down his back in inky, cascading lines. The manβs profile was strong, dignified. Although he couldnβt see all of the manβs face, it was clear that he was well bred, and some might say beautiful.
The vision then moved back over the crowd for a moment, Gannon continued to speak, but in a short amount of time the vision moved back to the elegantly well-dressed man who stood off to the side, a look of intent on his face as he watched the proceedings. This happened three more times β the vision panned away and then focused, again, on the manβ¦Each time Ginβs eyes looked upon the man, he felt that feeling of foreboding come over himβ¦ - ]
Opening his eyes, Gin shivered a little to relieve himself of the chill that had filled him despite the fact that the room was warmed from the sun. There was no telling who the man was, but Gin knew, that when it came time to return to the Academy for the first day of classes, heβd be keeping an eye out for the man with the black hair and the fur lined cloakβ¦

ββββββββββββββββββββ Gin felt Rin shift behind him. He was still in the thralls of the vision, but when she moved to pounce on him, he was ready. She seemed to realize what was happening and stopped her attack to observe him. As he finished reviewing the vision for a second time, he opened his eyes with a heavy sigh. Looking up at her, he smirked a little. βEvery night, kid. Only difference, is now I can control them a little moreβ¦β
Reaching up, he ruffled Rinβs already mussed hair. He knew how she worried, or had worried about him when theyβd lived together back with the clan. Back then, his visions had been much more violent and bombarding. Heβd received so many and with such intensity that his whole body would shake, the sight had been akin to someone having intense seizures. Now, it more like intense REM sleep.
βItβs alrightβ¦Iβm alright. Iβm learning to control the flow of them and the intensity. So theyβre not so bad anymore.β Not to mention he was learning to retain the visions and their information better. So when a vision showed him something important, he could grasp itβ¦Which made him wonder why heβd seen that man at the opening ceremony and why he felt so ill at ease at the mere sight of himβ¦
Shaking his head a little, Gin smirked at Rin again. βCover hogβ¦gonna have to keep a spare blanket around in the winter if youβre gonna create a nest like that and kick me out of itβ¦β He teased, lightening the mood as he grabbed a pillow and whapped her over the head with it playfully.

ββββββββββββββββββββ Gin could tell that Rin was becoming more at ease in his presence and in general, but she still tried to hide it, which was kinda cute in a way. So, when she got excited about being accepted into the Academy only to then try to play it off, he shook his head a little and smirked. Much to his further amusement, Rin then went to stretch casually only to lose her balance and fall off the bed. βPFFFT!! Hahahaha! You crack me up, Rinβ¦β Gin said with a broad grin as he rolled back on the bed and held his sides.
He wouldnβt have been surprised of Rin jumped on him and called him a dummy, pummeling him with her little fists. They spent the rest of the day just lounging and resting, talking about the Academy and the tour Gin would give her the following day. Gin told her all that he could on what to expect as a student, luckily for her, her knit teacher was Ven and he would be very nurturing for Rin as a teacher and hopefully soon, a father.
