November first and Second were very interesting days -- not in the US, but in Mexico. Those two days were the Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muerta - and the Day of the Innocents.
This holiday is celebrated predominantly in Mexico but is also popular in Arizona and many communities. It is a celebration welcoming the dead bad to the realm of the living with offrings of food and drink, celebrations, and prayer.
A popular treat that's very well known are the Sugar Skulls, or, Calaveras. Calaveras are very nicely decorated and you often find one with your name on it. Well...
This poor sweet Kitsu is a lovely example! They're all trussed up to celebrate, wearing a marigold and with skeletal markings unusually grim for an angellic, but they're late!
How can you help? Why not give them an offering for their ancestors - or yours. You know, whomever is lingering about.
