Aleks Mason

Alexander Marquez (born January 29, 1992) is an American professional wrestler. He is signed to TNWR, where he performs on the iMPACT brand under the ring name Aleks Mason.

Early Career/True Talent Wrestling
Marquez began his career at the age of 18. He moved to Los Angeles following his high school graduation to train in pro-wrestling. Marquez had trouble finding someone who would train him due to his size and condition. Brian Kendrick took in the young wrestler and trained him for approximately 6 months before Marquez began working in the independent circuits (gaia towns). At the time, Marquez wrestled under the name “Alberto Guerrero” to garner some support using the famous Guerrero name. This brought the attention of a young promoter by the name of Blake Hero who brought Guerrero into True Talent Wrestling in 2010. Guerrero quickly found himself in a losing streak feud against “Tay” which lasted a year. Using TTW as a stepping stone, Guerrero branched off into new promotions. He repped TTW as his number one home promotion, and even worked for the company until it’s inevitable closing.
In mid-2011 Guerrero made his debut in TOPWG where he held his first title. At the TOPWG Extreme Rules pay-per-view in August 2011, Guerrero defeated Kofi Kingston for the TOPWG United States Championship. The company came to a collapse before Guerrero could defend the title again. Plans leaked of a heel champions stable that had plans of including Guerrero before the promotion’s end.

Total Nonstop Wrestling Entertainment/TNWE (2011)
Following the closing of TOPWG and TTW, Guerrero was signed to TNWE in late 2011, during a down fall in the company. He gained a close relationship with the promoter at the time, and was granted a backstage role that soon translated on TV. Dirt sheets reported that at the time Guerrero had backstage heat with a prominent TNWE star and legend Edge. This heated relationship grew a division backstage between the entire locker room. On the March 18, 2012 edition of TNWE Thunder, Guerrero was given a TNWE Championship match against John Cena. Rumors had gotten out that Guerrero had the intent of leaving TNWE, and this match was an attempt by promoters to keep him. In a mid-match finish swap, Guerrero defeated John Cena, winning his first world title. Guerrero would relinquish the title, and the victory was swiped from the record books. He left the company directly after.

Championship Wrestling Entertainment
Earlier in his career, Guerrero befriended various promoters and took time with them to learn the aspect of the business. He opened up his own promotion alongside JBL by the name of Championship Wrestling Entertainment. The show was produced in Guerrero’s hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, but soon came to an end.

Return to TNW[x]/TNWF (2013)
Marquez would return to the TNW[x] brand which had now seen its second reincarnation in TNWF. He signed a contract, which sent him into the TNWF Training Facility. Marquez debuted in the Training Facility under the name Alexander Martinez. The former TNWE Champion became defiant in the Training Facility, feeling that he was “too good” to be among rookies. He would soon be bumped up to the main TNWF roster, where he spent most of the time in dark matches, mid-card and lower, or opening matches at house shows. Martinez’s absence would push him into leaving the company again, this time staying away from rival promotions.

TNW:R (2015)
Marquez returned to the second incarnation of TNW[x], Total Nonstop Wrestling: Revolution in 2015 under the ring name Alex Mason, which quickly evolved into Aleks Mason. Mason signed a contract which excluded him from television programs, therefore mainly working house shows. He spent most of his time battling various competitors such as Matt Allens in house shows across the country. It was during this time that Mason credits as an artistic refresher, allowing him to evolve his character to better adapt the current product TNW:R was offering to audiences.
