. Welcome to Phonyland! .



With market interest in their primary petshop business waning, Jun took a portion of their HyTech savings to reinvest in a quiet new startup.
Blinded by the cuteness of the new My Little Pony cartoon, he decided that live versions of prancing plastic ponies were the way to go with his new project.
The costs of being a franchisee were much too high, but Jun and Maxx aren't Azn for nothing - no, they knew all about 'the other plastic ponies made in China'…
so after a few transactions, a shady factory was erected in a corner of a modestly vast plateau on the grassy outskirts of Barton near the HyTech building.
The plot had been bought for this very purpose…and the theme park that would be built around it - Phonyland!

Where little Phonies may frolic all day - and prospective owners may shop for Phonies all day, heheheheh…

A visitor entering Phonyland through the welcoming park gates will find that they open out into a small but complete Phony town,
with all the amenities you may expect of modern civilisation. Off to a side are the Phony dormitories, colloquially referred
to as the Stables, where the Phonies, both owned and unowned, may be housed. Past the trappings of the concrete city,
the rest of the park boasts natural landscapes for Phonies to roam free and seek adventureTM! The rolling grassy plains are
bordered by all the conveniently adventure-laden features any self-respecting Saturday morning cartoon may wish for:
a mysterious forest, a mountainous region undoubtedly hiding a network of caves, a shimmering lagoon complete with waterfall.
For the requisite beach-fun episode, the Barton shore is but a brief journey away from the theme park - and of course, all Phonies
are licensed to explore the usual delights Gaia itself has to offer!

Here are some frequently asked questions about Phonies and Phonyland NOT already addressed on the Front Page or associated "Please Read" links!
If you have any questions, feel free to just ask in the shop thread, and we will do our best to answer!

Generally ::
"Just keep in mind that nothing is considered canon UNLESS we explicitly state so/approve it - and even then, things can change with new developments. Generally, Phonyland (and D-T3CH) is technically supposed to be a totalitarian sci-fi dystopia masquerading as a fun and attractive fantasy world! ...But it's so boring when I type it out like that. Anyway, just ask me if there's anything you need to know for plotting/questing's sake!" - Jun D

Q: How do non-Unicorn Phonies do all these strange things without digits?!
The Hasbro cartoon has shown forelegs being able to contort upwards and bear objects aloft! Tennis players play tennis...single-hoofed with a racquet! Who are we to argue with cartoon physiology? Nevertheless, their primary object-manipulator still appears to be their mouths, but you can probably play fast and loose with this.

Q: How many Phonies, ICly-speaking, exist?
IC-ly speaking (actual B/C numbers notwithstanding), many, like any living city. Each Phony - including yours! - is theoretically a supporting cast member (well, your main character, if it's yours) among vast numbers of Phonies, so no one Phony (possibly unless paid bucketloads for and marketed that way) should be a special snowflake - but if you're tasteful enough to be here, you didn't need us to tell you that, did you? ;D

Q: Are Phonies flesh and blood?
They are warm, squishy, furry, and seem to breathe. Nevertheless, nobody but Maxx and Jun know what they're actually made of...and don't try to find out or you'll probably regret it. What you do know is that nanites run through every Phony... Nanites have been our one-stop answer to everything since HyTech began! We've been deliberately ambiguous about the details because we often have to change things behind the scenes as we introduce new species with new traits...so the only thing that's sure is: it's a mystery to everyone but Jun and Maxx...
(But, seriously, Phonies are techno-organic constructs powered by nanotechnology.)

Q: Do Phonies die?
No Phony has actually died to date - the special effects on the supernatural-appearing Phonies are programmed through their nanites (likewise, unicorn magic is just nanite-powered forcefield-based telekinesis). Can Phonies die? ...Maybe, but Phonyland maintains a record of every unique 'thought signature' and each has its own associated memory bank...

Q: Can Phonies be maimed?
Technically, yes. You can lop off a limb, and it will stay lopped off. Can it be regenerated? Yes, bring your Phony back to the admin building...* Can Phonies fall ill? They certainly appear be capable of it, as well as healing (or not healing) as per normal human capability on their own...

Q: Can my Phony be a criminal?
A: Sure! Phony City is a working, living city, and criminals are a part of any city! Lit: Phonyland works to portray Phony City as a working, living city, and criminals, being part of that portrait, are allowed within it as long as their activities are deemed more useful than detrimental to Phonyland itself (e.g anything that dissuades visitors from Phonyland is a no-go.)... (Also, this information is not supposed to be public, but IC'ly every Phony is coded with a 'killswitch' that admin can access at any time...)

This forum is for all Phony RP - whether in Phonyland or anywhere else!

. Forum Basics .
♥ Please begin the titles of Open-to-all RP posts with [ORP] and Private RP posts with [PRP]
- You may add elements et al. if desired, but please include the tags above (e.g. [PRP - Honesty])
♥ For PRPs, please label titles with participants - e.g. [PRP] Sum Title [Phony1+Phony2+ Phony3]
♥ When the RP is concluded, please edit the tag to include FIN - i.e. [ORP:FIN] or [PRP:FIN]
♥ As Phonyland exists within the normal Gaia world and is a walk-in theme park, technically non-Phonies,
such as people or pets from other stores, can also be RP'd with the Phonies.
However, it's best if the character to be RP'd can find Phony-owners
who have pre-agreed to involve their Phonies in RP with them.

♥ Please exercise common sense and consideration wherever necessary
♥ All art and ideas [that are not ripped off the other plastic ponies *cough*]

♥ Chatspeak is not recognised - apologies for any inconvenience caused
♥ Please keep things believable - do not engage in Godmoding
♥ Do not control the actions of another person's character without permission
♥ Character deaths are not expected in Phonyland - if something along these lines is being plotted,
please seek approval from the admin and all involved parties before execution.

. Hard&Fast RP Guidelines .
♥ To reiterate: no God-moding - be conscious of your fellow RPers and your Phony's status as a fallible pet
♥ Never assume success - when you initiate an action, the targeted RPer will complete the reaction
♥ When in doubt, always go with the shop-owners' flow:
- We will always try to resolve it in everyone's best interests
- If we're subtly herding you in a certain direction, we're planning a plot payoff
♥ RPs dated back are fine, but it has to make canonical sense with regards to the timeline: no references to events,
occurrences or inaccurate Phony ages (e.g. adult as bab, bab as adult, not existing at all etc) at the canonical time of RP.
- For example: Phony 1 and Phony 2 were babbies at the same time, and can do a back-dated RP as babbies.
However, Phony 3 was already Old Enough when 1 and 2 were babs, and so has to be Old Enough in this RP as well.
Phony 4 only existed when 1 and 2 were Old Enough, so Phony 4 cannot be in this RP at all.

. RP Problems Guidelines .
♥ If you're having problems growing your Permababby, consider making a list in Phony Classifieds and asking people in the thread for help -
we have lots of regulars eager to help grow Babbens up! Sometimes the thread might be busy and your post might be overlooked,
so don't hesitate to ask again if it's been a while!
♥ Remember - growth RPs can be as long or as short as you'd like, as long as it's a complete episode between the Phonies involved,
and the element in question has clearly been learnt (whatever that might mean...). Since the requirements are so lax, we cannot accept incomplete RPs,
so we are truly sorry if you find that your old RP has been abandoned and you must start a new one.
♥ Sometimes RP partners go missing, and that's a real shame, especially if you wanted that RP for a requirement. :c Anything could have happened,
so we don't encourage more than a couple of reminder PMs. What we do suggest is that, if too much time has passed and the reminder PMs
have not helped, that you inform your partner that you're going to have to pursue the RP somewhere else and possibly that you'd
recycle the plot (if the RP has not been completed, you may reuse your own posts in a new one) and go on to do just that if there's no reply
within a reasonable timeframe. You'd be surprised at how many people wouldn't want to lose their progress in a requirement RP
when push comes to shove...
♥ Please don't ever feel like you should be in a hurry to complete growth requirements - you shouldn't be!
And we would really prefer you to take your time ahahahah...

In lieu of the lazy busy owners who are rarely seen within Phonyland, the austere if reticent Silent Quill is in charge of all Phony operations, and oversees the Phony Directory personally: there is not a Phony who escapes his attention. Unfortunately, he is an academic by nature and resents the time his unwanted job wrests from his research. Silent Quill is a Brush 'N' Grow Unicorn, but few ever see the ludicrous lengths his mane and tail extend to after grooming as he is wont to lop off the excess right after in inconvenienced rage. Almost certainly OCD.

Unlike Silent Quill, the laidback, smooth-talking Pegasus Fireflight thoroughly enjoys his job as QC Officer. In charge of vetting new Phony proposals, he takes joy in smacking down potential Phony Sues, checking out forthcoming Phony babes to hit on, and earmarking cool new Phony dudes to pal around with. His temper is terrible to behold when roused, but he is also quick to move on, and loves a good joke as long as he's not the target. Enjoys driving Silent Quill mad.
