'Go Ahead, Make My Day'
Aka, we're planning for prom, and WE includes YOU!
Alright, so Prom is coming. It's overcast, crows are cawing, and LOVE is in the air! ... or is that Fear? ;;;
At any rate, welcome to the Prom planning thread! I apologize in advance for the disorganization that will be this thread -- I don't have any fancy banners yet*** and on top of that I don't actually have a clear picture of how this thread should look, so it's going to be messy until I get all the information sorted out into which post it should go, tucked under what subcategory, etc. ;;;
But first thing's first -- while Prom is in general being organized by the Student Council, along with the assistance of a few other individuals, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A SAY! In fact, quite the opposite, we need your help! It's going to be you guys that decide a great deal of what goes on at prom, from the theme to the IC song playlist to the type and how many games you'd like run! Almost everything will be up for debate, and any ideas that you guys can think of are MORE THAN WELCOME and, if we use them, are of course eligible for minipet compensation**** <3
So without further ado, (I think I haven't forgotten anything...;; ) we'll get on to our first topic, which is...
*THEME*
Those have you who have been to proms probably remember your own prom having a theme. Personally, I remember MY jr prom's theme being Midnight in Manhattan, which turned out to be absolutely gorgeous (as such, please don't hate me for the OBVIOUS bias below -- REMEMBER you guys get to vote on the theme in the poll, so my bias doesn't actually mean anything!) At any rate, below are some ideas that I came up with for a theme, along with a little description of how the gym would look under a theme like that. If you have any ideas for something you might like to see as a prom theme (I am so not creative ahaha;; ) please post it below after the thread is set up! <3 I'm not going to put the poll up yet, so I don't have to keep changing it and erasing people's votes, but after a short period of time I'll throw up some of the ones that sound promising for people to vote on!

More of what this means will be discussed at other information functions, such as Prom Committee and the sticky thread for prom that will be going up, but for those of you who would like to revolve your dress/suit around the theme, we're thinking black and red will likely play a major part, as well as dice, cards, roulette machines, as well as flashing lights and glowing paint~ <333
Zombie Apocalypse -- Crumbling cityscape design. Syringes for drinks? More later.
Nightmare on Elm Street -- Creepy suburb? Red and Black stripes? Fedoras for the guys? Perhaps a lot of mirrors...? More later
Corpse Bride -- Dead forest-y theme, fake snow, lace? more later
SAW -- Medical themed, blood everywhere...? Medical blood slides for plates? more later

Little Shop of Horrors theme! (Courtesy of SleepZombie!) -- "I imagine it like... For the most part the area would be decorated in the same fashion that the shop is in the movie at the point when Audry 2 has grown to it's biggest. Vines everywhere. Lots of other flowers all around... and of course since this is Halloween and I am sure there is quite the possibilities to get the grounds keeper to help harvest some particularly large and -alive- plants... |D Perhaps other areas can be directed like other areas from the movie. Particularily the area where pictures would be taken would be decorated to look like the dream home that Audry sings about (also the place they move into at the end of the movie). But for the most part... lots of plants?"
Casino -- Oogie Boogie's Dice Room (courtesy of Chimarii) -- u/c
A Night in the Swamp (courtesy of Sally Sheep) -- Ceiling set up like a starry night, cat tails in muddy water on tables, torn and worn table clothes, firefly lighting, some (fake?) swamp trees/plants, mist and/or fog? Dark colored drink to look like swamp water (or even is swamp water)!
50 Below (courtesy of Sally Sheep) -- A catacombs/crypt theme! Coffins and coffin shelves, lots of skulls, pillars, maybe even a short maze-like entrance?
Toga (courtesy of Nio) -- Greek/roman? IDEK, WHERE ARE YOU GOING WITH THIS LANI?
Hell (courtesy of Blade) -- Could be split in half - one side is the fiery depiction, the other the cold one (For those not so keen on fire XD) Either side could grab elements from any depiction as far as decor goes. It gives an excuse to say "TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL" >___>;;
*** Artists interested in making some minipet silver! Please please PLEASE see the artists thread that will be appearing soon! Any artists willing to help me with pricing of stuff like this, omg plzplzplz halp hit me up on aim, my aim is tahlonwolf <3
**** The minipets at this stage are not fantastic, as they come from my personal willing-to-trade box of minipets. I'm sorry -- we have AMAZING prizes that Zoo has provided for us, but I'm saving ALL of these for the actual prom, so I apologize ahead of time! |

So You Think You Can DJ?
aka the Music Post!
So since we realize all Proms basically REVOLVE around dancing and music, we decided it was best for there to be a set playlist that will be playing in the background, so that when you're typing up an rp post you aren't having your ghoul or boil slow dancing to a rave remix of Enrique Iglesias' Tonight I'm Lovin' You. 99% of these songs are going to come from you guys, whether it be via IC games (of which I haven't come up with any yet, but I will!) or just you guys throwing them at us! We want things YOU would want to listen to, even though it really isn't all that important, because in the end we think it'd be pretty neat if while you were writing your post, you were listening to the song that your character's supposed to be dancing to <3
Which brings us to a very exciting part of this post...
*THE IC DJ*
Does your student LOVE music? Do you want to ICly help?** Well here's a chance! Lani had the AMAZING idea of having a character be selected as an IC DJ, who is allowed to make bolded shout posts to signify that they're saying things over the mic for all to hear!
So what would an IC DJ be doing? Well, basically here's what we thought would happen -- there's a set playlist that will be posted in the prom thread (as well as here.) Each of the songs will run for a certain period of time (not sure how long yet) so that we can keep everyone on the same timeline. It is the IC DJ's MAIN job to creatively announce the song as it's changing to a new one. For example, I type up a post with Nuk switching the records. Then, in bold and orange, I post "This next song is for that lovely lady in red across the room -- I see you looking at me~" with a link to the song with the song's title and artist. (We'll be talking to the individual after they're selected, so don't worry too much <3) ANOTHER job the IC DJ is allowed to preform is RANDOM SHOUTOUTS. The DJ is allowed to make bolded, random posts just for the fun of it! This could include a student's request to 'Give a shoutout to the lady in red' or something silly like "Is it hot in here, or is it just me?" Basically, YOU are giving the other students little things they can but don't have to respond to. It's supposed to be fun, it's supposed to be light-hearted!
Also, there IS a possibility that we will be doing a few DJ's, each having their own little time slot to play with, so that your character gets a chance to actually play in prom, however at the moment we're not sure <3 It's PROBABLE there will be more than one, but for now things like how much work the DJ will have and how many songs we'll have and how much time we'll have for the prom rp itself will play a factor, and we don't want to spread the job too thin. Right now, planning on probably having two, as a note, but keep in mind you might be the only one, so if you have a problem with being the only one, please make mention! <3

[b]Is your character responsible/can you keep your character responsible?:[/b] It's ok to have them d**k around with the mic sometimes, but we DO want a level of responsibility. It's supposed to be fun, we're ENCOURAGING a little silliness, but making it about yourself isn't cool. We're trusting you know the level we're talking about -- having your DJ be drunk on the mic is something that would not be cool. Please be honest in this category -- we WILL kick you out of prom if you suddenly have your character try to dissolve Prom into chaos, so please think wisely whether or not your character would ICly keep their cool. That being said, we DO love you, and we're not trying to squash your creativity, honest ;~; <333
[b]Would your character have a date?:[/b] While this job isn't going to be all that labor intensive, please bear in mind that your character can't REALLY be out on the dance floor if they're the one mixing the songs! OF COURSE you'd be allowed to talk to whoever came up to the DJ station, and you'd definitely be allowed for your character to take breaks to go chill, but your job would be the music, so please bear this in mind <3 If they do, explain how you'd handle this <3
[b]How often are you online?:[/b] You don't need to be on ALL the time, but since this is a job, we'd like to see some activity <3 While you COULD get away with only posting the songs, what fun is that, for you OR for us?
[b]Can you abide by a relatively strict schedule?:[/b] Do you know you can't get on at xpm - xam? That's fine! But please know that there IS a certain time these songs need to be switched, and if you're not here to do it, someone else will have to. :< Which is fine, but we'd rather not do that, for the sake of IC continuity <3 This being said, please don't be afraid of this question, we understand things happen <3

'You Talkin' to ME?'
Here's where I'm gonna throw the ideas that we think are viable for prom, such as any game suggestions you might have, etc. <3 There isn't a form for this, so just shout out in thread anything you feel like however you want :3 However, before you do, please take a look at the stuff we already have planned, since we may already be doing what you'd like us to do!
Stuff that's already planned to happen
(please bear in mind that all ORPs are OPTIONAL, not mandatory! <3)
*Prom King/Queen/Jester (possible Prince/Princess -- Please post feedback on prince/princess!) -- This is going to be handled much like the Student Council was handled. You will have to either be nominated or sign up your couple ahead of time, so that they may be on the ballot. This can be done ICly at a booth that will be provided in the Open House or in the Prom Committee ORP (both of which will open within the next week) or OOCly just by pming me (x_Nata_x) Prom Jester, however is NOT a nominated position -- you have to sign yourself up. ICly we will allow you to assume someone else put your character's name in the box if you want character development (such as your character is humiliated by being nominated) but we'd PREFER you don't ;;; Because it makes me super sad QQ
*Prom Portraits -- This is where the artists come in. As a few prizes, we'd like to give away a few prom portraits, basically like the ones you can see when you google 'prom portrait.' As of right now it's unsure of how they'll be given away/how many we'll have, but this is something we'd like to do for prizes!***
*Prom Booth ORP -- Booth in the open house. Self explanatory, it introduces Prom to people <3 You can also ICly submit forms to either be a DJ or submit someone/yourself for Prom Court, as well as ICly buy your ticket! (although you don't have to -- IC justification is only if you want it <3)
*Prom Committe ORP -- An IC meeting for prom. Here, your student can sign up to ICly handle something for prom, be it decorations or food or whatever <3 Many people will be under these categories, with an IC group leader assigned. You can then use this information as plot fodder <3 Also, if you didn't in the Booth rp, you can submit your candidacy either for prom court or DJ here -- the DJ will be announced in this rp, however, so please OOCly tell me beforehand <3
*Possible Crack!Pairing thread -- No date for prom? Let the random generator create some lulz! This has the potential to be a very short rp -- students will post their application to be paired up with a random someone of their orientation (straight/bi will be rolled 1 or 2 for guy or girl/gay) and then the random number generator will take care of the rest <3
*Gym Setup before Prom Night ORP -- Free for all rp for people who want to ICly help set up the gym <3
*Participation prizes -- Minipet prizes will be awarded to people who are dedicated, as well as a few other MYSTERY awards <3
