Even as the two of them prepared for battle, a rain of power struck the battlefield, tossed in by the Shadows surrounding the area. Three of the blasts struck Misara, and she hissed in irritation, planning to wipe out the offenders in the very near future. Ailek had gotten off slightly lighter, but she was going to fix that, too, as she kicked forward and closed the distance between them.
As she got close, Misara whirled her blades around. The first one was just a feint, though, fully intended to miss - the threat was the second one, coming in from the blind spot the first strike had created as she swept it upwards. "Magnas!" she cried as the actual attack came up, sheathing her blade in stone as it moved. She was strong enough to handle the increased weight of the blade without it affecting her swing - indeed, she'd planned for it - so that was fine.
Her combat style was that of direct but well-practiced blows. Essentially, she was a close-quarters fighter who used a combination of skill and power to land blows. Even if the first few blows were dodged or parried, that was usually enough to throw off the opponent's guard.. and she ruthlessly exploited the openings she created. After all, when you were busy reacting to your opponent, it was a lot harder to do what you wanted... and she generally swung hard enough to demand that attention.

Ailek had been bracing himself...but the attacks from the shadows were very much damaging to his figure. He could keep on his feet well enough, but the nuclear and almighty energy did not do him any favors...
The girl's sword whirred around, though Ailek's heightened reflexes picked up on the movement fairly easily....
Though, instead of trying to back away from her strike, the boy lunged forward, taking the brunt of the girl's Earthen, powered attack....For the sake of using a powerful attack right off the bat.
'Malus Conductor! he thought, his thrust aimed at her exposed chest....but the blade didn't move with the sort of stabbing motion that one would expect.....
Rather, as the Earthen strike Slammed into his body, he grit his teeth and bared down, focusing electrical damage through his blade and into Misara's body.
The physical slam from her sword wasn't the major factor to him....But the earrthen supplement made sure it wasn't something he could just ignore...
Just like they couldn't ignore the shadows as they continued jeering, and preparing to launch their assaults...

Misara was about to make a retort when the Shadows... well... started acting very strange indeed. Even as a confusion spell hit her, the Shadows focused their attacks on her, with THREE of them all shooting out with water - her weakness - at the same time. The three bursts slammed right into Parhashi, Misara's Persona, and it let out a cry of pain as its ability to influence the world was disrupted for a time.
Even as it did so, the confused girl whipped out with her weapons - but there was no earthen sheath this time, and Ailek, well... he wasn't exactly vulnerable to your basic sword blow.

Ailek could notice the glazed look come over Misara's eyes...As the shadows started to attack her. He backed up from her strike, the bare blade resounding much less than the attack before it...And the single shadow that attacked him doing no better.
"You let your guard down.." he called, gripping the handle of his blade, and aiming a slash at the girl's body once more.
'I need to keep the offensive...or else..
And yet, even as he launched his own attack, more attacks would be heading their way....
The shadows hated being left out, after all...

Ailek watched as his own slash made a sizable mark in the girl.....and then felt wind crashing over his body, and personae.
"Gah.." he cried out in pain, gripping his sword with as much vigor as he could muster, as the chilling ice also raced over him. A small healing spell from the woman not of her mind helped...But he could feel his body starting to slow down.
'Better stop focusing on offense...and prepare. he thought, crushing his card to support his body a bit better with his magic. A healing spell meant for others, yet only supporting himself this time...
And yet, ever present, ever hungry, ever waiting....The shadows launched their assault once more.

Ailek had been lucky to try to patch himself up....
But unlucky enough to be attacked with a myriad of the shadow's assaults. He groaned, and clutched at his rib, even as Misara's distorted mind sent out a small healing spell towards him.
"Tch..I can't.." he called, pushing himself to his feet, as he focused another healing spell into himself, having to keep on the defensive so he could last...
And not get felled by the shadows that circled the area.. They were vicious, and showed no favor this fight....
So, when they all reeled back once more to strike..He braced himself for impact.

'Well..I made her angry.'
He was rarely one for the kind of obvious comments..But, when the girl's body tumbled to the ground, bloody....And then got back up with a renewed vigor, Ailek could feel the air practically quaking around her.
'I have to.. he thought, as the Almighty attack, and light energy slammed into him, forcing him to move to his knees. He closed his eyes, focusing his energy into his being once more. He was losing power..He was getting weak....
It would be decided..by the next few moves....
Or, if the shadows had their way, move.

One bolt of power came Misara's way from where the Shadows were launching their attacks, and she cut through it with one swipe of her blade, taking a glancing blow from it. Both of her blades shot outward a moment later, impaling the Shadow that had hit her. "NOW!" Misara bellowed - and her eyes flashed bright green as Parhashi merged with her and finally activated her Shadow Form. She hadn't been kidding when she said that she wanted all of her power into this, and stone shot out from the hilts of her blades to completely envelop them.
With that, Misara simply started turning and heaved, dragging the parallel blades around in a massive circle to cut through everything in her way. Ailek was a target too, of course, right in the path of the sweeping blades as she cut around the entire arena and straight through every single Shadow there. She continued the whirling circle as she made a complete rotation, though, cutting through the second wave of Shadows as they came up to replace the fallen. To hell with their interference - and to hell with Ailek, too, when all he was doing was dancing around and healing like a little b****.
Their lord had wanted to see all she was capable of - and in this moment, that was exactly what Misara was doing.

Ailek had boosted his speed....But, when the attacks moved in to hit him...He was in serious trouble. The wind wailed on his persona, making his whole body shudder in agony...A brief reprieve afforded him enough time to catch his breath...before he was suddenly assailed with Fire, burning at his body...As Almighty blasted at the angered woman...And then a burst of lightning towards him. Familiar with his element, he forced his feet to dodge this attack....
Just to get slammed into Misara's Earthen blades, his body being Torn, and slammed into, the sheer mass of the attack, knocking him to his body..And leaving him nearly dead....
Or, very close to it. As his very being ached and pained...his body cried out..and he thought back to that day....
The day he was given a choice to attempt to get stronger...Or to die where he stood.
A small flame was still ignited in him...And though he was barely able to hold his sword...He used the last of his energy to lunge at Misara for one. Last. Attack.
'Malus....Conductor.' he thought weakly, focusing the remnants of his energy and speed on attacking Misara.....
And, in one final attack. If the shadows didn't get him with their own assaults...
She would.

Ailek was fast, and his blow struck true... with the power infusing ever pore of her body, though, Misara was even faster. As her swords shot back together, the girl launched herself forward and whirled through the air again, this time having stone coat both of her blades as she brought them down towards Aibek in an attempt to bludgeon him into unconsciousness and finish the job. In his weakened state, it would have been quite easy to let the hit him for her... but she had no intention of allowing that to happen.
After all, why live a life where you just watched others do things? She wanted to make an interesting world... and, perhaps even more importantly, wanted to experience what happened once that had been done. To put things simply, Misara was not a passive person. There were a lot of things she wanted, and she was more than happy to seize them with her own two hands. This was just one of them... a stepping stone on the way to a better world.

Ailek's strike....may or may not have hit...
But, Misara's boosted strike definitely did....And, as he was knocked flat, the shadows jeered, and launched their attacks wildly....Ensuring that if by some kind of miracle he'd managed to endure that attack..He wasn't getting up anytime soon for the next fight.
And yet, the Shadows jeered still, as if cheering at the display of violence.
