And Sun continued on, feeling the strain just slightly now. It didn't matter, though; he was finally getting something done. Flame could breathe a sigh of relief now.

Sun had just done this. He could certainly do it again. He began to run, only to trip and - ugh.

That had hurt. Okay, so it'd be better for him to find a way around it instead...

That jellyfish looked a little like Oathkeeper.

The thought of Oath, though, made Sun think of Shameless and Flame of the West, who were...probably waiting for him to hurry up. Right.

He was still looking at the Oath-esque jellyfish as he continued, though, so he didn't notice the...bog. More bog? He'd had such difficulty getting out of the one in the obstacle course, too. Scowling, he began to swim. Perhaps Shameless would understand when she saw him...

Another few feet, another...hill. Sun didn't want to climb it and risk tripping, but he was losing time, so - he supposed he had to. He began charging, and fortunately didn't trip, this time.

This should have been the obstacle course!

He was, unsurprisingly, winded by the two obstacles, and stumbled, so that he was moving a little slower. It was all right, though; he'd covered a fair distance, and Shameless was perhaps within reach now.

Just in time, a hound burst out of nowhere and kept pace with Sun for a bit. He could see his daughter - he just had to get this damn stick to her.

The hound was tan with a creamy underbelly, and seemed to lose interest after a short distance. Perhaps it smelled meat somewhere.

Ugh, a low thicket of foliage was between him and his daughter. It was of no consequence, though: he'd gotten through that first obstacle, he remembered sheepishly.

He burst through with flagging energy, and passed the stick to his daughter quietly. "There seems to be an abnormally high jellyfish count today," he warned her.

Shameless yawned, waiting impatiently. It was bad enough that she didn't want to partake in this dumb race, worse still that someone (whether it was her brother or her father, she couldn't tell) was taking an impossible amount of time (if she had to guess, her father).

Her suspicions were proven once the old kin came bursting through the undergrowth, looking worse for wear and quite haggard. She rolled her eyes as she took the stick in her mouth, his warning to her going in one ear and out the other as she sprung off, completely confident in her abilities.

And why had Sun taken so long again? This all seemed utterly effortless to her. Nothing but clearings and easily traversed ground. Of course, she was certain was only to be expected from a hunter like herself-- lackadaisical externally, but at least Shameless took her position in the clan to a serious extent, though it helped that she was actually good at what she did; not the best, but competent.

These clearings sure made for some lovely time to spend thinking about herself.

Her legs moved with ease and she picked up speed without really realizing it. She still hadn't seen a single jellyfish; what was Sun on about again? She only half listened most of the time anyway...

...Of course her wandering thoughts and lowered guard led to her forgetting her place and, consequently, realize far too late that there was a pack of... dogs? Where did those even come from? She stumbled slightly, strong jaw still gripping the stick, but she didn't lose her footing completely at least. Those canines were lucky her mouth was full and that she was preoccupied, or else she'd give them a piece of her mind...

Nevermind that, she had a race to finish.

Well, there certainly was an abundance of other animals, birds and dogs respectively. She was sure jellyfish, if any (because there were absolutely zero) wouldn't pose any sort of distraction either. Oh well.

At least the gentle hum from the songbirds soothed her angry, confused soul. Or maybe they just helped to urge her onward. It shouldn't be too much longer now...

Finishing off with aplomb, Shameless saw the next kin in sight. Was she done already? It didn't seem like that long at all. Had her father really had trouble with this? Regardless, she reached Dual Natures quickly, passing the stick off, "Good luck."

Not that anyone should need luck to pass through this...

The stick was passed to him and he hadn't even gotten two paces when another kimeti was up in his face- Asking what he was doing and was he having a good day.
Dual, always affable, didn't want to discourage friendliness. He stuck around for a few moments to answer the questions, ask the same in return, and generally chit-chat.
Once small talk was completed successfully, he gently let his new friend know that he was actually in the middle of a race and must get going.

The rest seemed to fuel his drive even more.

His legs carried him swiftly across the terrain. He felt accomplished that even though he'd been standing for some time waiting for the stick to be passed to him there was no sign of fatigue in his joints. It was good to be a hunter and in tip-top shape, he thought to himself smugly.
