wahmbulance A potato for the long post... wahmbulance
Quote: ~1. I'm a furry because I've always been fond of cartoons and art. I love to draw my sona. Tbh I don't think I could just NOT be a furry anymore.
Quote: ~2. I'm a Shnolf (Like TaniDaReal's Schnolf, just spelled different sweatdrop ). It's a snow leopard and wolf hybrid. I fit more under the leopard part with more of the wolf showing in personality. Thought of just being a snow leopard but decided against it as I do identify with wolves.
Quote: ~3. Tbh i only started to get into it after I saw some NSFW art. It wasn't the NSFW part of it but more how much trouble the artist put into it. "There's got to be more to theses 'furries' than porn. I need to know more!" At the same time, I was looking at Gaia and was going insane over the cute ears and tails that I cold have on my avi. I learned more and it all just kinda.. Clicked. I learned about the good side and fursuits and was all HEEEELLL YEEEAAAH
Quote: ~4. I realized I was a furry after the above above and thinking back on my past. When I was young and playing with my friends I always insisted on being the pet dog or cat. I'd prowl around on all fours and bark or meow at people. I always loved animals and I was drawing them ALL the time. It just.. Made sense.
Quote: ~5. As one who initially found the fandom through... NSFW means.. I had thought furries were freaks but I'm not the quickest to pass judgement on others so I did more research and found a great loving community as opposed to this large fetish group I had thought they WERE.
Quote: ~6. Porn. Do I really need to reiterate the fact? I also had seen a bit of the furry CSI episode but didn't pay much attention. Never really liked those shows.

Lord_Zureth_Moonpaw I am pondering some questions, ones as old as the fandom itself… 1. Why are you a furry? 2. What is meaning of your fursona species? 3. When do you first become a furry? 4. When did you realize that you were a furry? 5. What did you first think of the fandom? 6. Where/how did you hear about that fandom? Anyone who wish, please feel free to answer! 1. I enjoy the art, and it allows me to be more social, in a world I wouldn’t otherwise be. 2. Werewolf: I was always fascinated by werewolf lore and legends, not the ones where they are monsters, but more the best of beast and man. 3. officially at 14 4. This question is tricky, I realized I loved the style of art and story known as furry about 8, but didn’t know what to call it about 14. 5. I first thought it was a little weird and overly dramatic but seemed fun. 6. I first heard the term “Anthropomorphic” one the website “The Werewolf Café & Full Moon Bar” and there I did research and found “Sexy furs” (not exactly a good site for a 13 year old but hey) and there I found a forum site “Furry United”.
1. Not please being who I was, not going to go through the details just simply say my life sucked. I needed to fill that hole in my life. I had my love for animals, and I highly respected them compared to people so I decided to become one.
2. A WoLFoX, two of my favorite animals combined into one. The attributes both possessed- family, intellegence, playfulness, compassion, tradition both solitude and friendship and so much more. Being a WoLFoX is truly what i desired to be, since i just couldn't be that as a person.
3. I don't exactly remember when I became one, but it was close to middle school age.
4. I didn't know exactly what I was becoming at first, had my love for wolves and foxes admiring them. Eventually browsing online for a birthday present from my parents, since i got two presents and picked them(no surprise present, they didn't really celebrate birthdays) when i was younger came across a tail you could wear. I got curious but was to shy to ask for it from my parents. Later that year came across a book, in a bookstore about furrys'. Thats when I knew.
5. I was the only one with the intrest, and I was just messed up in the head as so many perceived me as being because i love to howl, bark, run around, wasn't really social either but had a fair share of friends.
6. Online Store/Bookstore. Im finally online and getting to know more stuff about being a Furry and what others like to be smile Happy Im not the only one out there as I orignally thought to be. Coming online this week and breaking my social anxiety was one of the best decisions I made biggrin Now if I can just break my social anxiety in the real world. I'll forever be a WoLFoX!!!

1. Why are you a furry? I don't consider myself a furry anymore (I just signed up in this guild 10 years ago, and forgot all about Gaia..) but I'm pretty certain that the main reason I liked to be a furry back when, was because it was a sort of identity escape. I had a severe depression, I was a confused teenager, and frankly I didn't even know who I were myself. Or I think it was at that time I was trying to figure out my own personality, and putting a ton of labels on myself and considering myself to be different was something that made me feel special. And feeling special is something you need when you are depressed teenager with no self esteem. I have never considered myself an otherkin, but I liked the idea that I didn't have to be myself, but could flee into this fictional character I made up. And I like foxes/animals in general, so why not furries. 2. What is meaning of your fursona species? Meaning? Its just an animal, how can it have a "meaning"? Foxes was just a general interest for me back when I first discovered furrism, and ever since that foxes was (and still is) an iconic passion for me. 3. When do you first become a furry? Some 15 years ago, I think ... My brother showed me some furry art, and was all into shamanism with spirit animals and all that s**t, and I just found it interesting, and then he showed me 'the world of furries'. 4. When did you realize that you were a furry? I didn't "realize", like how you realize you are gay or transgender. Thats really not how I view being furry. I just liked the concept and universe in general. I was a huge fan of traditional furry art, and I liked to draw, so I just went with it. The idea of having an animal alter ago really appealed to me at that time. 5. What did you first think of the fandom? At that time, I only knew about selected artists, and not much about the community, because there wasn't a lot at that time. So I guess my first impression was just "nice boobs". 6. Where/how did you hear about that fandom? My brother printed out a ton of furry art he found online (probs a lot of yiff too I imagine).

1. Why are you a furry? -♦- I don't know if I'd call myself a Furry. I enjoy the art, drawing some myself, some roleplay stories but there are aspects and parts to Furry culture I'm not over the moon about or simply don't understand. That said, what interested me in them was a drawing of a polar bear warrior -- I liked the idea of the advantages an animal has over humans as far as senses, overall strength, endurance and dexterity. Human's cut, break and bruise very easily. We're fragile, no matter how much muscle we build. Anthros/Furries seemed the perfect warrior.
2. What is meaning of your fursona species? -♦- My original Anthro/Fur was an Orca. When I created him the more popular species were canines, equines, foxes and felines. In not wanting to follow trend, I drew and designed my own orca anthro.
My next and current was made not long after the Orca but more so based off of game fandom. An Ecaflip from the mmorpgs, Dofus/Wakfu. As much as I love my orca, and he'll always be my favorite character, it was easier to relate to felines in rp than a marine mammal. Using an Ecaflip allowed me a canvas of feline I can do whatever with as Ecaflips may have different appearances.
3. When do you first become a furry? -♦- I don't know if I ever became one but I'd say I got involved in the community around fifteen years ago. Drawing, selling art, roleplaying. Never went to cons or bought any fursuits.
4. When did you realize that you were a furry? -♦- Ehh...
5. What did you first think of the fandom? -♦- My FIRST thought was... dude, could you imagine Lord of the Rings with armored lions, rhinos, elephants and s**t instead of dwarves and elves? Then, low and behold, it's mostly about getting off to fluff, feathers and/or scales.
6. Where/how did you hear about that fandom? -♦- AOL Arts & Entertainment custom chat. Someone used a piece done by DarkNatasha for a character concept
