"Alright," I said. "How do we want to do this? I think--" I start to pull out some glittery wrapping paper," --that we should make this a neat and clean presentation, don't you? Small boxes that she can open, one by one, with delight!"
Pearlescent puts a hoof to her mouth to hide her smile. I don't see what's wrong with my suggestion as I look at her. She's so neat and clean, herself, so well put together and smart. But she shakes her head slowly.
"We need to wrap them all together," she says with a smile, setting them neatly one atop the other. "All together, so that when she opens it, she can see everything at once..."
"But won't that diminish everything?" I ask.
Pearl shrugs. "To me or you, I suppose it might! But when you have someone of an open and forthright nature, who shares all she has openly, who revels in so much beauty--you don't keep that in suspense..." She smiles a secret smile, but its edges are sad. "I need her to know... and an extra second won't do."
"Come," she says after a moment. "Let's wrap it all together, you and I."
