The following is a tale of Masahiro Hatake and Nanami Hyuuga, chronicling her rise into the world of the shinobi and her time of instruction by Masahiro. This is not a love story, this is not a tragedy, it is a tale of student and teacher, coming to terms with the world as it exists.

Soft footsteps could be heard as Nanami slowly made her way across the estate to the front room. Today was the day that she would meet her new tutor, which cost her several "punishments" and took several weeks of complaining to get. She was half of a year closer to freedom, but it still seemed so far away. She stopped to look at herself in one of the mirrors in the hallway in passing, In an attempt to make her look presentable, her mother had done up her hair and had put her in an extra layer of kimono today. She couldn't help but worry in passing if it was because the person she was training with was a sexual deviant, though that would be interesting in itself.
Making it to the foyer, Nanami sat down on one of the couches. The whole morning had been quiet and strenuous. Her father had been quiet and even more twitchy than normal, and her mother had been more easily frightened than normal. They had spent the entire morning silently eating breakfast and then leaving Nanami to her studies alone in her room. That in itself was a little less torturous, but still torturous in itself. To make it worse, today's lesson had been advanced literature and she hated advanced literature. Nothing was worse than staring at paper unblinking for several hours while your brain rattled around in your head.

The parents had been told one thing to expect when her tutor and instructor arrived. Instead they were to receive another surprise altogether. A man in a long white cloak and the red hat of the Hokage opened the door with one of the family attendants standing at his side, apologizing profusely. The Hokage lifted a hand, clad in a steel gauntlet from underneath the cloak and placed it, with a clunk as the metal on his wrist and forearm shifted. The man then brought his other hand to his lips, with his index finger outstretched and placed just below the tip of his nose.
"Shh. Trust me, I have dealt with more of the Hyuuga and Uchiha families in the past than you could believe, as well as dealings with the other two noble lines. I understand entirely the double talk and the worries that the noble families have about my people. And while it is uncouth that they thought I would send a 'Sexual Deviant' to their home, they have nothing to worry about." He said as he waved the man off, adjusting his cloak as he brought his hands down and turned to look at the girl.
She had an impressive chakra reserve. By no means the highest he had ever seen in his time as an instructor, but by no means was she lacking. Then he saw the layer upon layer, bundled in more layers, that her family had made her wear.
"Ah. So I take it, ma'am, that your entirely overencumbered and entirely way too dressed self is my new student, Hyuuga Nanami?" He would ask, commenting on the several layers of clothing that made her movements stiff as a board.

Due to the greater understanding of the self, the user is more aware of the connection between their mind, body and spirit, and how to utilize that connection. The user is now slightly more skilled at just about everything. Striking, blocking, moving, absorbing, and taking damage. King of the Iron Fist: ○ Iron umph: The users ability to tense, stabilize, and execute hard blocks and strikes has increased, making blocking power slightly more increased. ○ Iron resiliency: The User has gone through tough enough training, being banged and moved around in armor to understand what it feels like. The user is now slightly more resilient to damage. ○ Iron Disciple: The user, through hours of intense training in multiple bad scenarios, has learned the old saying of “to kill with one punch.” Because they do not want to find themselves outnumbered, or maybe for pure enjoyment sake, the user is able to hit with great intensity when striking a foe, focusing on tension, grounding, stability, and strength at the impact sight. The users striking strength is increased. ○Iron resolve: The user has been thrown around, impacted, and beaten down so many times that they are not just physically more resistant, they are mentally used to getting their a** beat! The users physical and mental toughness is increased, granting a passive stamina increase. Nigirikobushi no Shintou: ○ Impact Resistance: Upon completing this training, the user suffers no recoil damage from techniques from any non-Rigorous Taijutsu or Bukijutsu Style up to either the highest trained rank in this Style or the highest trained rank in the Hard Physical Formless Style, whichever is lower, and does not suffer damage from striking anything harder than their fists. ○ Focal Point: The user meditates through combat, taking time to narrow their focus to their Chakra pathways. In so doing, they become innately aware of when they are being observed in combat, and can pinpoint the locations of anyone below their rank observing them within one meter. After much dedication, the user develops the ability to sense hostile intent in the immediate area. As to where, however, they cannot be sure. Pale eyes blinked several times slowly, taking in the visage of the man who had just entered her home. The hyuuga tilted her head; he was definitely an outsider. They were all so different, the people who came in to the estate; the moved more fluid and their eyes were filled with... well she couldn't even put a word to it. She stood and gave the man a deep bow; her movements stiff, practiced. "Yes, I am Nanami. I take it that you're hokage-dono, it is an honor to have you in our home...." And I can see the first thing I will need to do is have some different clothes arranged for you." The man said, motioning back at the retainer that he had argued with earlier.

Nanami blinked, taking in Masahiro for everything he was. She could feel the strength coming off him, he was not a joke. This was a man who had seen hell and then come back all the stronger for it. She felt... excitement. She felt that if she could become even a bit like this man than she would have gone down a right path in life. "Masa... hiro... Masahiro... "Justice Prospers"... Interesting name... "
The house maid ran off to go get Nanami's parents; it took about ten minutes. The father came first; gruff and angry looking with an open-front yukata. The mother was next; timid and shy and wearing even more layers than Nanami was. They both stopped and gave a bow to Masahiro, but the mother's bow was a bit deeper than the father's. Sticking a hand in to the open front of his Yukata to hand there freely, the father began to speak with his graveling voice. "You called for us, Lord Hokage? I hope that our daughter didn't do anything to appall you." The mother just covered her mouth with the long sleeve of her many kimono.

"Actually quite the opposite. I heard the term sexual deviant get tossed around by your retainer when they told me your worries about what instructor I was sending. But that is neither here nor there. The issue is your daughter's attire, she cannot be expected to train in any physical fighting styles or even in initial chakra training with so many layers of fabric, starched so tight." Masahiro looked over to the woman, then pulling out a sheet with a dress-code reference for the village Academy.
"Loose-fitting, flowing materials or bodysuits that don't hinder motion with appropriate dress overtop are the recommendation." The man said as his crimson eyes set on those of the father, passing the paper over to him and then walking towards Nanami.
"How high can you lift your arms in that?"

The man of the manor gripped his hands tight at his sides, how dare this man come in to his home and tell him how to dress his child? Sensing his anger, Nanami's mother took a step back, frowning behind the sleeve covering her mouth. The father cleared his throat, before taking the paper and looking it over. It was clear from the look in his eyes that he wasn't happy, but he wasn't gonna argue with the hokage either. "I see..." He waved to one of the housemaids, who rushed off to find Nanami a change of clothes.
"We'll get her something more... acceptable.. to wear. Sorry about that, Lord Hokage." Nanami on the other hand was distracted by her attempts to raise her arms higher than her shoulders. It was clear to anyone watching that she wouldn't succeed and that the fabric was too thick to rip, but she kept trying, a fascinated look on her face.

"That will be enough, Miss Hyuuga. It has become woefully apparent that you cannot lift your arms too high in that getup. Now then. When the servant returns with your clothing, I ask that you change, then join me outside in the courtyard. We will begin your formal training in the sunlight. You look sun-starved. The last thing I need among my shinobi is a Vitamin D deficiency." The Hokage would say to the girl as he gave her a sideways glance, then looking to the girl's father.
"I know relations are strained between our families because of the Civil War, but that ended over twenty years ago. The Hatake have scattered to the winds and those of us who remain are quite sick of sitting in the tentative silence your family has oft imposed upon us. As a Hatake in the Hokage's Seat I have made no attempt to push reparations against your family for what was done to mine, I ask only for solace and equality. The basic rights." Masahiro spoke, his eyes gazing deep into those of the man.
The very man that first spoke up about the Hatake taking exile after the war. Shaking his head he motioned to one of the retainers to open the door and he walked through it. Exiting to the courtyard he could be heard sighing, then walking off to one side.

Usually the retainers were anxious and jumpy, but they seemed even more so now. The was instantly brought something more freeing, and Nanami made a mental note in her mind to thank Masahiro for changing her parent's minds. Nanami ran in to her room and changes as quickly as she could in to the much lighter and long sleeved kimono and a pair of shorts. This was the least amount of clothes her parents had ever let her wear, and the young hyuuga looked at herself in shock in the mirror. She enever really noticed before just how pale her skin was in comparison to everyone else's. "Strange..." the young female muttered before freeing her hair from its intricate hairstyle and walking out to join Masa in the courtyard.
"I have to hand it to you, Lor- Sensei; my parents usually don't listen to anyone, not even their parents." She came to a standstill beside the hokage, tilting her head and looking up at him. "I have a quick question before we begin, if you'd permit me." Nanami's eyes were filled with curiosity and excitement, she was still a blank page waiting to have a story written upon it.

Nanami first flinched away from Masahiro's touch, she was not used to any kind of physical closeness. She had never felt bare skin to skin contact from anyone, not even the servants which flittered about her estate and dressed her every morning. The young hyuuga gritted her teeth and forced herself to accept it, though she had to admit that being less than a foot away from someone at any given moment was kind of nice. Nanami took a deep breath and closed her eyes, before opening them again to ask her question.
"What does it mean to be a shinobi? What is it like? I have been stuck in this estate for so long, and barely do I ever see the world past these walls. What is it like to fight, to protect something?" The curious female looked up in to Masahiro's eyes as he tied her hair back. "I sometimes see the ANBU who travel here to the estate, and some of the hyuuga that are shinobi, but everyone is always so distant and so stoic; I cannot read them. There are a lot these eyes don't see that I wish they did..." As if to emphasize her point, Nanami tapped her temple with two fingers, frowning.

"I'll be honest with you, Hyuuga Nanami, this life is not a blessing. These skills are not a boon, they are a curse. Of taking arms against a much younger version of her father, her uncles, those who tried to stifle a civil movement in violence, to prevent dissenting opinions from rising in the village. His memories showed Uchiha and Senju, both wearing their clan crests with slight variations, on both sides of the rallies and debates that were held. The rallies where Masahiro as a child, only fourteen, stood in the crowd and watched as people who wished insular thought and the limitation of houses outside of Konoha's Noble Four from rising to power in the village. Where Nanami's own father stood and demanded that Konoha exile the Lesser Noble Clans, the Hatake, the Uzumaki, and several other families who stood in opposition to the Noble Four. Though his words were coaxed under the guise of preventing their dangerous abilities and ties to other nations from poisoning the great shinobi village.
Then warfare, buildings burning, fights erupting on the streets. Masahiro and a young Uchiha, back to back as the old Hatake compound had been attacked. Masahiro's grandfather had been the target and now the boys stood to defend their lives and those they cared about. In the memory Nanami would see Masahiro stare into eyes as red as those he now bore, the same tomoe pattern repeated in those eyes as in his own. A shadow moved in the eyes and suddenly the viewpoint shifted, Masahiro turned and batted a blade aside with the palm of his hand, his own blade thrusting forward, coated in Raiton. The face of the shadow came clear in the white light of the Hatake's blade, the face of her father, and the man's neck began to bleed, the creeping scar pattern along his neck burnt into flesh by Masahiro's blade.
Then darkness once more and the eyes of Masahiro stared from among a crowd, watching as the Hokage of that age stood between two other men, the signatures of all three placing upon a piece of parchment. Eyes watered as the names of those lost were read out, starting with the name of his grandfather. Hatake Akira.
From here the memories would end and the woman's eyes would return to her own vision, the face of the man whose memories she witnessed, growing from the young man looking at himself in the mirror to the man he was today.
"We fight, for love, and because we have the lives of thousands to keep safe. For ourselves, for the nation, and for the Daimyo." The Hatake finished as he took a step back, looking down at his Steel and Leather clad hands.

The Hyuuga watched the memories pass by with a sad expression, this man had been through so much pain and war. Was this really what she wanted for herself? A lifetime of pain, of fear, of fighting? Nanami looked downwards at the ground for a few moments, as if searching through the grass for her answer. Finally, when she had decided, she looked up towards Masahiro with a burning determination in her eyes, her head high and her shoulders straight. She had needed this talk, doubts had filled her mind before now if this was life life she truly wished to lead, but those doubts existed no longer.
"I want this, all my life I have striven to be different than my father. I want to help people, I want to protect people, I want to make people smile and feel the kind of happiness I have yet to feel myself. I want peace... I have read many stories about war and genocide and murder, and I found myself staying up many nights thinking about the world. If I can stop such things from happening with my own two hands, I do not care the amount of my own blood I spill or the pain I feel. I know from the day I brandish the headband of this village, I will be nothing more than a weapon... but... If I am a weapon to protect the innocent and the broken and the lost, I do not mind that fate all that much."

Nigirikobushi no Shintou: ● Impact Resistance: Upon completing this training, the user suffers no recoil damage from techniques from any non-Rigorous Taijutsu or Bukijutsu Style up to either the highest trained rank in this Style or the highest trained rank in the Hard Physical Formless Style, whichever is lower, and does not suffer damage from striking anything harder than their fists. ● Focal Point: The user meditates through combat, taking time to narrow their focus to their Chakra pathways. In so doing, they become innately aware of when they are being observed in combat, and can pinpoint the locations of anyone below their rank observing them within one meter.
Shigure Souen: ● Insight Rain :: The user will practice extending themselves into the atmosphere, in a sense. After much dedication, the user develops the ability to sense hostile intent in the immediate area. As to where, however, they cannot be sure.
Kishitou Yoroi: ● All Simple techniques in this Style are treated as Spiritual when interacting with other techniques. ● For interacting with physical techniques, light armor is treated as granting C-Rank defense, medium armor B-Rank defense, and heavy armor A-Rank defense. ● While wearing armor, the user is capable of using all Taijutsu techniques they know as normal. ● Acclimation: Can move in armor without hindrance. Supreme bonus to Physical Strength (Power) using abilities with Compatible Armor. (Now all armor as per Kishitou) ● Shifting Position: All techniques that would move or topple Masahiro now affect him as one rank less. And he cannot be toppled by techniques of lower level than his armor. ● Knight's Blade: Effects of style now affect all armor types and armanents and can be used in any style of armor.
Hatake: ● Raiton techniques performed are increased by 1 rank in their power, up to rank A.
Sharingan :: Second Tomoe: ● Somewhat able to read movement. ● Can view chakra colors brightly. ● Can detect active, A-rank genjutsu, & negate it by expending chakra equal in rank. ● Able to permanently copy techniques, inefficiently. ( Two [2] posts of watching and two [2] of studying. )
