Adder managed to find someone who knew about the trial, and directed him where to go. As it turned out, it was on the other side of the cavern. The place was, honestly, gorgeous, and relaxing, and incredibly serene, when you weren't being pestered by rattata. And yet, knowing that he had yet another challenge on the other side, somehow made it a daunting place of warning. It felt darker, and he warily eyed the exit as he approached, chewing the inside of his cheek as he ran through everything he knew about trials. He'd researched them before leaving home, but it was kinda different to actually witness and participate in one. Besides, it was like they intentionally kept a lot of the information vague. It was a test, you had to compete against a totem pokemon, the pokemon could call for help, and that was about it. The totem pokemon was a particularly strong pokemon. Nothing that really helped you figure out a strategy, exactly....
And yet, all the same, he stepped out, and as he strode forward, the totem pokemon appeared, a large, overbearing Gumshoos. Adder made sure his pokemon were healed up and good to go, before stepping up to the challenge.

Adder swiped a hand over his brow, pushing his hat up to scratch his hair, before tugging it back down. That hadn't been too hard, actually. Pengyou did well against two opponents. That Fire Blast attack was really good at knocking out the weaker one. He sighed, but then walked over, patting the litten on the head, and offering a little smile. "Good job, Pengyou. That was pretty impressive," he remarked. The pokemon (who had been shaking much of the battle) looked up, mewing uncertainly at the praise, his tail swishing. Adder either didn't notice, or didn't think on it, too distract by something small and shiny glinting on the ground where his opponent had fled. He frowned, straightening up and walking over, before picking it up with a slight frown. "Cseou!" He frowned and glanced back at Cosmog1 as it chimed happily over his shoulder, looking curiously at the small shard Adder had picked up. Its eyes seemed to transfix on the object, and it gave another small coo.
Adder, ignoring that interest, turned, looking around. "Where's the other o--" He flinched back as there was a flash, and a large portal appeared. Just as suddenly as it did, it disappeared, and a cheery cry echoed the area. Adder dropped the arm he'd raised for protection, staring with wide eyed horror at Luna. What was she doing here!? Someone -- anyone -- in that cavern could hear her and come out! "What--" he started, expression turning stern, but he stopped as... something pressed against his mind. He figured it was her, and forced himself to relax, but as the ideas, the concepts and the feelings -- no words, no solid thoughts, just everything that precipitated them and remained below the surface -- moved through his mind, he grimaced. "What? No, I--" But before he could argue, Luna gave another happy cry, and with a staring, deadpanned, almost threatening looking Cosmog 2 beside her, disappeared into another portal.

Adder stiffened, before slouching. As startled as he'd been at Luna's sudden appearance, he... was sort of hurt by her just as abrupt disappearance. He looked away, but jumped when he suddenly felt something bump against him. "Cseou!" He glared down at the Cosmog, narrowing his eyes. Why hadn't she taken this one, too? It was bumped up against his arm, staring at the dimension shard in his arm, and he quickly knocked it away. "Ow! Only to receive a shock from Cling. He winced and glared down at the pokemon through watering eyes, rubbing his arm as it stared defiantly back.
Giving a small sound, he shoved the shard into his bag and strode for the cave, but as he did, the cosmog zoomed after him, and bumped into him again. "Ow! What?" he snapped, spinning around. The pokemon chimed happily, bouncing in the air, before floating up and then diving for his bag. He tried to spin out of the way, and keep an eye on it, but it managed to slip in. He stopped, eye twitching, as he heard the familiar snap of a pokeball, followed by a flash of light, the clatter of something wiggling.... and the familiar ding.
He remained frozen a moment, before suddenly dropping the bag down onto his arm and swinging it around to dig through. He shuffled through his pokeballs, but for the life of him... he couldn't figure out which one had just been used. And there was no sign of Cosmog. Which meant.... it was now, officially... his.

Verdant Cavern was a spacious area, big enough for Sousa to duck into and occupy the air up above. Naomi did his part to observe his surroundings, and take in the new sights, but he was far too preoccupied with challenging the trial captain and then having Mori checked on to sight-see for too long; though the thought of having Rotom snap a few pictures did cross his mind. "Where is Ilima?" Naomi spoke aloud, the question not so much directed to Rotom but into the air itself. He knew wild pokemon were more apt to attack him here, since this was their home, and he wanted to locate and challenge the trial captain before they had a chance to do so. "He just so happens to be right here." An unknown voice answered, from a nearby ledge, and Naomi looked up to see a pink-haired man standing there, a gentle smile warming his countenance.
Ilima hopped down to join Naomi on the lower level, a knowing look in his eye, "I take it you've come to challenge me?" He nodded to himself, despite the fact that the other had yet to respond, and gave a cursory sweep of the pokemon before him. "You look like you've got an excellent team on your hands," he complimented, and already he began reaching back for one of his pokeballs. "Thank you." Naomi bowed his head, humbled by the comment, while silently motioning Ieyasu to step forward. It only seemed right to allow his partner be the one to take part in his first trial captain. "It is a little different from the competitions held back home, Ieyasu," he cautioned, carefully eyeing the Smeargle Ilima sent out. "But, I believe you and I are more than capable of handling this!"

Ducky entered the cavern, looking around. It was definitely... different from going to a gym. It seemed that someone had just finished up their challenge with a pink haired male. "Yoooooo Ducky! You see that? It's almost like looking in the mirror, isn't it?" Daiki exclaimed, gesturing towards the male that had just finished his battle.Ducky gave the other male a good look. He looked like he could be related to him. They had the same hair color, similar hair styles, nearly the same height, same eye color and strikingly similar clothing. "Whoa... You aren't messing with me with another illusion, right? He looks like he could be my twin!" Ducky leaned over to ask the green haired male."Naw, this isn't one of my tricks. Maybe you should go say hi?" Daiki assured him, giving Ducky a nudge.
Fortunately, Ducky's sense of caution checked in, causing him to keep his distance. He didn't know if this other guy was part of an enemy clan or not. Once the other was cleared from the challenge area, Ducky slipped by to issue his challenge to Ilima. "Alright Ilima, I'm here to win!" Ducky grinned, and the captain accepted the challenge. Ducky sent out Jun, while Daiki, Lucina, Mizuki and Solgaleo stayed on the sidelines, watching. Mizuki was clearly peeved that she wasn't the one being used in battle first, tail flicking in annoyance behind her.
Ilima started with Smeargle, trying to land a fast hard hit with Quick attack, but Jun was still left standing, retaliating with a Sky Uppercut. It was an easy knock out for the Hakamo-o, though the hit and earlier fighting was starting to show some wear on her. So after the Smeargle went down, Ducky opted to switch in Maki. The Lucario looked around as if trying to figure out an exit when Ilima sent out Gumshoos. Maki was... well, a coward. She knew how to fight, but ... she would much rather run away from most situations if possible. And as Gumshoos started to power-up a zmove to use against her, she seemed panicked, the only thing keeping her on the field being Ducky's reassurance that It'll be fine. She braced herself for impact as the attack came in... and was completely surprised when it didn't hurt nearly as bad as she had imagined it would. Now that it was her turn, she finished the giant mongoose off with an Aura Sphere, feeling proud of her accomplishment.

Ducky wasn't surprised that he won at all. It was to be expected from battling a normal type trainer, even if that trainer was a gym leader. He returned Maki to her ball, then accepted his 'badge'. Collecting his prize, he made his way back to Daiki and the others. Lucina and Solgaleo seemed bored, Mizuki looked still peeved that she wasn't chosen for battle, and Daiki seemed rather neutral like usual. "Mediocre." Solgaleo stated, unimpressed. "Wh-what? ... well, I guess that was to be expected... My type advantage was too strong." Ducky was caught off guard by the legend's judgement. Hopefully the battles ahead of him would provide more of a challenge to prove himself. The samurai didn't like the idea that the legend thought so little of his performance. Hopefully he could change that. "It was rather lackluster. Regardless, shouldn't we get to a pokemon center?Jun and Maki did take some damage. And you still want to go to that Winter Gala." Lucina chimed in, her arms held slightly folded before her in an elegant manner. "Ohhhh You mean like a ball? Yes please!" Daiki commented, a devilish grin upon his illusioned face.

Avikna strolled into Verdant Cavern, rather taken aback by it's beauty. While she didn't let her amusement show on her face, she was very much impressed. Even still, the annoying echo of what sounded like Zubat rolled through the cave. She was only mildly deterred by this. Still, it wasn't long before the image of a young adult appeared not far from them. "Greetings, trainers. Am I correct to assume you are here for my stamp? Or perhaps the Trial?" They inquired. Avikna stopped a bit a way, crossing her arms over her chest. "I'm here to get your stamp, however Tay here is-" "I'm here for the trial!" Tay exclaimed, interrupting Avikna. Her excitement was hardly being contained at this point, her grin wide across her face. "I see. Well, I am Ilima, I am the Trial Captain, as well as the barer of the stamp. If you are ready Miss Tay, You're trial awaits through that opening up there." Ilima then pointed up to an opening that bore sunlight. Tay, eager to get going quickly ran forward, leaving Avikna literally in the dust. Though before setting out, the male stopped for a moment to address Saru and Chibi. "If you are here to take on my Trial or Gym, you'll have to wait a moment. Thank you for understanding." He then headed towards the opening after Tay.
Before she passed the opening however, the eager teen stopped to look back at Vivi who stood at her side. "Okay Vivi. I'm going to change your disc thingy, to this one." She explained, holding up the disc with brown text on it. Vivi nodded, lowering down his head so she could quickly exchange the blue disc with the one in her hand. After a moment to process the exchange, Vivi's frills turned a light brown from it's previous blue. "Alright! You ready Vivi?" Tay asked, placing a hand on either side of the Silvally's head. He nodded eager to get started. "Then let's gooo!"
After rushing in, Tay held a hand up to block the sun from her eyes. Before her rested a pedestal, basking in the sun. A small shiny object rested on a little pedestal of it's own. That had to be the Normalium Z. As Tay moved in closer a growl echoed through the area until finally a gigantic Gumshoos appeared, it's eyes staring directly towards Tay, a fierce look in them. "Grrrrrmmmm!" It growled. At first Tay was somewhat unerved, but Vivi stepped forward, his head held high, frill fully extended. If he wasn't afraid, then neither should she be!
