Houndoom stared at the gardevoir, narrowing his eyes a bit at her reaction. She.... what? What was she doing... He eyed the egg, a bit uncertain. Was she.... getting that for Ajicka? Thaaaat wasn't a good idea. Sure, Ajicka was having him and Jas find the eggs for her, but she'd trained them. He didn't personally get the difference that much, but he knew she saw it, and he knew Jas got it, and he knew that if Nova brought an egg over, Ajicka wouldn't be very happy at the intervention. He watched as the psychic, though, just... floated.... away....?
"Doom?" He gave a low growl of confusion and tilted his head, tail twitching, before he shook his head. He trotted back to Ajicka, who was nodding to Zero's comment. She glanced down to take the egg, frowning a bit at the other trainer's comment as she put it away. "Train another team? Contests? .... Elite Four?" she suggested, eying him a bit, trying not to give any indication that she was, in fact, currently training for the latter. She didn't really want even more competition, at the moment.... She called Jas over. "I'll see you at Melemele Meadow, alright?" she added, before climbing up onto the fire pokemon, temporarily recalling Houndoom, and heading off. Theeeyyy.... could continue the conversation at the next place.

Not wanting to test the woman's ire, Nova ultimately decided that presenting the egg wouldn't be good for her health. Once she was out of the Houndoom's view, she did her best to dispose of her findings, and eventually emerged from the grass. She did her best to simply keep a straight face, and not look Ajicka's canine fire-type in the eye. She hadn't actually done anything wrong, so it was fine, right?
While his Gardevoir quietly debated if she had to worry or not behind him, Zero already motioned for Ashen to return to his side. Ajicka had her egg now, so she'd want to move on quickly. "I've... got my reasons for avoiding contests," he simply stated, trying to hide the twinge of doubt in his voice. "And with the Elite Four... Well, we can get into that in a minute." The brunette was already getting ready to take off while he spoke, so he elected to follow along and get mounted himself. Nodding when she made it clear where she'd be going, the young man, his psychic, and the being in his shadow all climbed aboard, and took off to familiar territory.

He stretched and rolled hsi shoulders some, glancing down when he noticed a message from Scarlett. He held off on responding, for the moment, instead turning to address his pokemon again. Well, sort of. He still fully intended to respond to Scarlett's text messages, but he wasn't going to be standing around, just staring down at his communicator all the time. For one, it was starting to hurt his neck, annnnd it was pretty bad posture. For another, he wanted to get more proactive in these searches. Finding an egg had actually been a bit rewarding, but it also reminded him that he was doing very little here. If he really did want to catch up to Scarlett, let alone impress beat her, he needed to get as many eggs as he could, as quickly as he could. And that meant the moments of slowing down, or slacking off, were pretty much over. At least, as much as he could manage.

That being said, he still pulled up Scarlett's message as he walked. This time, though, he looked up often, scanning the area each time, while he waited for it to load, or the page to switch, even though that was all pretty much instantaneous on his device. Finally, he slowed his stance so he wouldn't pass any eggs, and brought his gaze down to read the message.

He looked up again as he read the message, and looked around, walking as he contemplated his response. It wasn't that hard, really, but it gave him a moment to just clear his mind and let whatever he wanted to reply with, come to him. And at the same time, he kept an eye out for the egg. Not finding it at the moment, he looked back down, typing out his response as he walked.

He was teasing, of course. Cat and Mouse. He wasn't sure he'd actually be able to catch up -- she was already so far ahead -- but he was at least making decent progress. Maybe now would have been a good time to ask her how long it had taken her to get all those...

Sending the message off, he looked up, then turned at a sound. He jerked back and dodged Boo as she came streaming at him, frowning a bit, before noticing the egg she was holding. "Ah... good job, Boo," he praised, taking the egg. He looked over to see Sotnik and Meebus making their way over, with a bit less enthusiasm, and took the chance to call up transportation. Haha, what is that supposed to mean? I definitely think the mushrooms are getting to you. They disperse spores, but it's basically the same thing as pollination.
Basically the same thing except the mushrooms release their spores to the wind and flowers pollinate via animals and insects spreading the pollen for them. Scarlett took a moment to debate whether or not she add that thought. She wasn't even sure where she learned that from, or if it was really necessary to talk about. Really it came off as rambling, so she decided against it unless Zak asked... For whatever reason.

Scarlett had absently directed her ride charizard to Paniola Ranch, but the place and the association with ranch didn't really hit her until they were landing, and suddenly the wave of stench that was cattle and manure hit her like a wall and she wrinkled her nose. Scarlett liked aspects of the country, fresh air, horse riding, the music, the food, the county fairs, the cowboys... All of it was fun, but Arceus, she did not ever want to actually work or live on a ranch. The smell was just disgusting, and the type of pokemon that were raised on farms were too. Cows, pigs, even chickens and dogs. Scarlett had never been a fan. She much preferred cats and foxes and other felines.

A clearing of the throat alerted Scarlett that Vandal hadn't moved since she had let him out, and Scarlett looked up, quirking an eyebrow. "What?" She asked pointedly. "It'd be nice if you could help look for eggs too ya know, instead of staring at that wristwatch and texting your boyfriend." Vandal retorted, earning a sharp glare from Scarlett. "He's nothing of the sart." She argued, and Vandal rolled his eyes. "Whatever lady. Point is you should at least try and help so we can get this done faster. Or have you lost interest?" Scarlett stiffened. "I don't have to do anything. I'm the trainer. Ya're the one I put on egg hunting duty. I'll help ifn I damn well feel like it.""Well you better start feelin' it quick or you're gonna lose your hired help." Vandal threatened with a grumble. Scarlett smirked, straightening up. "I think ya've spent too much time playin' human, savy? I'll give ya a break, since clearly ya've been in the heat to long, got some crazy ideas about how you have any say in what I do, and who's in charge here." She leered, returning him to his pokeball and sending out Dotty instead. "Go find me an egg love, would ya? Vandal's gettin' tired." Scarlett crooned sweetly, and Dotty nodded, moving off to scour the area. That was a lot better of a response, one Scarlett much preferred.

In almost no time at all, Dotty returned to Scarlett's side with an egg, and the redhead smiled. "Thanks Dot, ya're a real great lass." She nodded, returning the solosis and storing away her egg before calling her ride charizard. There hadn't been enough time to really get in a reply to Zak yet unfortunately, but she supposed she could answer on her way to the next area. Speaking of which, Scarlett looked at her list and smiled, noting that they were heading to a resort. Too bad Vandal chose now to blow up at her, otherwise he would have gotten to enjoy the resort next.

He had named the new vulpix Hauhani, and was pleased to find that Nala not only seemed to welcome the young one’s company (after an initially cold first day where she was rather jealous) but now seemed to think of her as a little sister. He was glad he could count on Nalal to keep an eye on Hauhani so that his mind could wander as they walked. It hurt to move so much after so many days spent barely exerting himself, but the pain felt good.

While Takumi was gagging, Nalla took Hauhani up to the side of one enclosure. They stared throught the fence, noses twitching as they watched the Taurus inside graze. While Nala was not particularly inclined to step anywhere near the pen’s inside, where there was who-knows-what churned in with the mud and dirt, it seemed like Hauhani was curious, and so she hazarded going that close to please the young one.
