He snorted at the insinuation that he was ‘dedicated’ to egg hunting. “I was dedicated to getting it done,” he corrected, right before he nodded. “But, yeah, lesson learned. This next gym battle we’re going to prepare for properly, which is why we’ll do a hell lot of training in the gardens.” Of course, he needed to do a bit of research on who their next challenge was. It could’ve been the grass type, Ramos, or Ramot, but… he wasn’t sure. Which was why he needed to check.
With Legato unable to keep up with their pace, but also refusing to be returned to his ball, Heather held him in her arms as they crossed from the docks to the main area of the city, naturally gravitating back to Fabi once they were away from the boats. He’d start feeling better now, wouldn’t he? Cadenza followed behind, once more joining Susie in their walking. Both watched as his color, and spirit, returned to Fabian the further they drew away from the water and Heather couldn’t help but to smile. “Glad to have you back, partner!” she chirped, before nudging the male playfully.

He let out a sigh of relief and a victorious laugh before addressing the ever-concerned Naomi. "Hey, hey, don't get so bent outta shape, Nao-kun!" He patted his pupil on the shoulder letting his hand linger for longer than he would have usually. "Like I told ya, somebody's always ready to pull a grift on you, if ya let 'em." though his smirk remained, he ended up averting his eyes. "Besides, I said I was gonna treat you, so I couldn't let you pay. I mean, what kinda of da-" Dallas suddenly had an oddly abrupt coughing fit, and proceeded to wander the garden.
Eventually, Dallas decided to rest up against the side of the ornate bridge that went over the skinnier section of the lake. It was a very beautiful scene; simple lanterns lit up the pathways, which attracted Ledian and Ledyba before they zipped back to the tall grass. A gentle breeze blew on through, and with the low amount of light, even a couple stars peeked out. Holy cow, this is cheesy as hell. Nevertheless, he smiled. For his last night in Alola, he was having a great time. He glanced back over to Naomi, and decided it was time to get goodbyes out of the way.
"Well, Nao-kun," he said, breaking the silence, "I'm leaving for Sinnoh tomorrow morning. Gotta go get stuff ready for Austin and everything, you know?" He turned around completely, leaning back on the railing with his elbows, trying his best to look cool in his silly yukata. "Yeah, I'll be going to some serious competitions, so I can't really have you following me around. Besides, I'm sure you got things you wanna see and do. No point in spending that time with a thug like me."
Naomi was... conflicted. What Dallas had done was wrong, but his intentions had been well-aligned, and acknowledging this left him disappointed rather than upset. "Please Dallas, do not do that again, especially not for my sake," he stressed, his eyebrows furrowed together and mouth turned down in a frown. He felt the urge to explain his point further, that Dallas' actions were illegal and put their waitress at a disadvantage, but he squashed said urge and instead moved to lean against the railing of the bridge they found themselves at.
He leaned over to stare at his watery reflection, and the lanterns behind him, his face softening and turning contemplative. Up until now, he'd enjoyed the time he'd been spending with Dallas, in fact, he'd enjoyed the past few days he'd been in Dallas' company. Today had been different, however, just a bit. Naomi felt as if they'd gotten to know each other better. So that was why... he didn't want their evening to be ruined. Maybe he'd head back to the restaurant, and pay for their meal himself, Dallas didn't need to know...
"Hm?" Naomi pulled away from the water and turned to look up at Dallas. "Ah. Yes. Austin's sponsorship, right?" he assumed, face turning up into another frown. He wasn't upset, far from it. He had been happy to hear of Austin's achievement, he still was, he was simply... disappointed to see Dallas going. But, it only made sense. They couldn't spend all their time together, that was silly, and selfish of him. "I have enjoyed the time we spent, Dallas, and I will miss you," Naomi admitted, before he exhaled gently, gathering himself and his thoughts. "But, I understand! And I wish you, and your pokemon, the best of luck in your future endeavors." .....He was stalling, he could feel it. But, he had good reason for it! Sort of.
Naomi rocked back, causing the heel of his geta to clack against the bridge, before he took in a breath. Right, right, yes, okay! The male didn't give himself time to consider his next action as he rocked back again, and when he dropped forward he stretched upwards to kiss Dallas' cheek. "You are not a thug, Dallas. So, do not act like one, and make sure you keep in contact!" Naomi ducked his head down to pull an item from his bag, and used that as a way to hide his blush, before he pulled out a small piece of paper and a pencil. The male didn't say a word as he hurriedly scribbled his number onto it, carefully and in a print that Dallas could read. "Now you have no excuse not to call," he explained as he handed the paper over.

What are you..." The nice young male had rocked back before leaning forward to...kiss?! Dallas felt a little chill run up his body; he was actually nervous! Is this really happening?! Do I kiss him back? I'll punch him! No, don't do that...aw hell, stupid Nao-kun, always getting me all flustered-
And then, the gentle feel of soft lips on his cheek hit him like a Conkeldurr. All Dallas could do was look down to Naomi as his cheeks quickly turned bright red. "...um...Naomi... When Naomi turned, Dallas did as well, quickly covering his face to hide his blushing. Nao-kun...you idiot! I'm... When he realized Naomi was trying to hand him something, the not-thug quickly turned, putting on his best smirk. "Geez, okay, mom, I'll keep in touch," he replied. He took the number, and placed it carefully in his yukata. "What a dork...but anyways, I'll see you around, okay?" Dallas turned to leave, but before he could take more than a few steps, he turned back and grabbed Naomi by his yukata. "But before I go, lemme give you one more lesson: If you're gonna be ballsy enough to kiss a guy without asking, you better make it a good one." Without much warning, Dallas pressed his lips against his pupils, lingering just long enough to feel a warm, fuzzy feeling.
But, just as abruptly as he had kissed, he stopped, and punched Naomi's shoulder halfheartedly "And that's for kissing me, homo," Dallas said, in a weak deflection. "Smell ya later, Nao-kun!" And with that parting insult, Dallas headed out into the night. He didn't dare turn around, lest his bright red face break his facade. He was excited, bummed, and flustered all at once, and even trying to focus on his bright coordinator future wasn't helping. Whatever. I'll just call him in a week or something. Or in a few days. Or tomorrow. Definitely tomorrow. Dumb Naomi. He used his sweet boy act to get me to fall for him..
Melody simply rolled her eyes playfully in response to Lysander’s remark, once more giving a gentle punch to his shoulder (though with a tiny bit more strength to it then the last few ones) before dropping her hands back to her side.
"Good that sounds like a solid plan. I think we’ll join you too, just to make sure you do it right," a sly smirk crossing the blondes face in teasing as they moved to the gardens. "Though I’m sure with such dedication, you don’t need too much watching over."
Fabian gave a sheepish chuckle at the nudge, grin wide on his face as he rubbed gingerly at the back of his neck. "Thanks, good to be back!" He chimed, hands dropping back to be tucked away in the pockets of his jacket. "Ppfff boats! They just rob you of everything, don’t they?" He joked, trying very hard to brush off the past incident. It was rather embarrassing to have individuals you just met witness the length that your sea sickness went too, but he was rather grateful that Heather didn’t seem to show much further concern. It made it easier to bounce back after all.
Of course, they made it to the gardens and he was immediately captivated by the architecture of a nearby bridge. Fabian made a face at Lysander’s remark that it might not be gold. Who would fake such a thing? There was no level of paint that could match this brilliance! Nor maintain it in outside conditions! Luckily, Heather chimed in with quality logic that matched more with his outlook and the grin returned immediately. "Absolutely! That’s the best way to bring in the tourists!" He chimed, giving the young woman a thumb’s up. "See Heather, this is how I know I can count on you! You know business," at the mention to explore, Fabian perked up and nodded.
"Sure! I like it," immediately he started fishing for his pokeballs, tongue sticking out slightly as he tried to figure out who to train. Really, he could just let everyone out; the place was certainly big enough. Eventually though he settled on allowing Sierra and Xander out, the pair staring between him and the new-found individuals accompanying him and Melody curiously. Fabian grinned, reaching down to retrieve Orchid from Susie (he’d forgotten that the little bat was still out) before spinning on his heels and immediately starting off for the bridge.
"Alright guys! Start training! We’re going exploring!" He cheered, resulting in a face palm from Melody at the action that left all his pokemon looking rather confused. Yup, that was about standard for Fabian right there, just leaving his pokemon tasks to do. Luckily Sierra and Xander were accustomed to it; though Susie remained in place, little wings flapping as a look of uncertainty took over her features, looking to Cadenza for assistance in what she should do; follow or go train? What even was there to fight? That part she was kind of clueless on as well.

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ Susan, the Gardevoir Once Dallas was clear of the gardens, he finally let out a sigh of relief and a rubbed his face. What a whirlwind of events he had gone through! From meeting a violent monk and his little brat pupil to gaining a pupil himself to getting a sponsorship...to a kiss between friends. It was definitely not exactly how the thug expected his trip to go. Was everything happening too fast? Or was this just victories that were much overdue? Dallas wasn't sure; it didn't really matter, anyways. He had to keep moving forward and see what was going to happen next.
Dallas found a public restroom to change. He was tempted to ditch the yukata (Not a dress, Dallas thought, bemusedly), but an uncommon sentimental feeling nudged him into folding it up and carefully stowing it away, right next to his contest suit. After he was dressed, Susan decided she had spent enough time in her ball, and let herself out. Hallo, Dalpha! How did your dinner go?
Dallas shrugged his shoulders. "It was okay, I guess," he replied. "Had some tuna rolls, drank some tea. Naomi and I kissed-" Susan let out a squeal of surprise, loud enough that Dallas had to shush her. Dalpha kissed Beta?! Why do that? Boys can't mate together, right! Tell Susan! Tell! Tell! Dallas flicked her forehead, which finally got Susan to cool it. "Fine, fine, just keep it down! I'll tell ya on the way to the docks."
Naomi stood as still as a statue, his eyes dilated, long after Dallas pulled away from their kiss. Shock, or maybe it was embarrassment, kept him from offering any sort of response, physical or verbal, and he only recovered from his stupor after Dallas had left. His shoulders slumped back, and he slowly, almost subconsciously, reached up to smooth out the wrinkles Dallas' tight grip had caused. He... had only wanted to send him off with something light(?) (though, in all honesty, he hadn't even been entirely sure of what he'd been doing). Unsure of how he would recover from that, Naomi turned back around to stare back down at his watery reflection.
While Naomi didn't have any words, Rotom certainly did, and he didn't hesitate to make many retching sounds and gagging noises before he turned to look solemnly up at the air. "...I think I need to erase my memory chip, just to get rid of that image..." he muttered. There was a long stretch of silence, where Rotom truly considered doing just that, but eventually he gave up on the idea and swiveled around to look at Naomi, and contemplated something before he spoke out, "Alright, kid. We're finally alone. Now what? What's your plan?" Naomi turned around himself to press his back against the bridge. "I am... not sure," he answered.

Naomi sighed gently, before tipping his head to the side, and tried to think of what he could do next. Dallas was going to be competing in his own contests, and so he had to find something to occupy his time with. Exploring the islands was a good idea, but... he hadn't actually done anything progressive, since he'd arrived to Alola. And while he certainly wasn't going to measure his journey based on accomplishments, his parents certainly were. "Why don't you start on those trials every other kid and their overgrown brother is doing on these islands?" Rotom spoke up. Naomi perked up, but after a moment he nodded. "Yes, I have heard of those..." he remarked, able to pluck the genuine advice from his snark. "I think that would be an excellent idea as well!"
Rotom closed both eyes, a light hum starting up as he worked through something in his system. "Fine. No points for originality, but at least it's better than standing around. Let's walk and talk, it's late." Naomi nodded in agreement, a quick glance up at the sky reminding him of how much time had passed. He crouched down to pick up Ieyasu, figuring he'd done enough walking for the day to deserve a bit of rest, and then gestured for Rotom to take the lead.

Lysander gave a gruff laugh and rubbed his shoulder in a show of, clearly exaggerated, pain. “I’ll be surprised if my shoulder hasn’t fallen off by the end of this trip,” he griped jokingly. He gave Melody a side-eye while maintaining a contemplative expression, or at least something akin to it, running with the idea of Melody and Fabian traveling with them all the way back to Kalos. Eventually, his smirk broke the ‘character’ he’d been trying to hold, and with a slow shake of the head he patted Melody’s shoulder fondly. “If you wanted to stay with us longer, you could have just asked,” he assured. “But, we wouldn’t mind the audience. Though, it’s like you said, we wouldn’t need it.” At least, he hoped they wouldn’t need it. But they definitely wouldn’t, because they were going to train. A lot.
Heather bit her bottom lip, her attempt to keep from smiling, and nodded her head as seriously as she could manage. “Oh absolutely,” she agreed, with as much conviction as one could manage in this situation. “Boats, better known as buzzkills.” Heather, surprisingly, found that she could enjoy herself more when she could actually talk to Fabian, rather than watch him out of the corner of his eye as he voided the contents of his stomach--imagine that--but she wasn’t going to make a big deal out of it. She would, however, make a big deal about the gardens they soon found themselves in, giving several ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ as they passed through the arch and then, set their eyes on a real life golden bridge; at least, that was what she liked to believe. Heather grinned proudly, then playfully waved off Fabian’s compliment, while also soaking it in. “You can always count on me, Fabi!” she insisted excitedly before pointing to her mind, and then his. “We’re on the same wavelength, probably!” Lysander, behind them, groaned. But she ignored that.
Though their views on the bridge differed, the siblings had the same idea about training. Lysander gave some thought, trying to decide who he’d use, before deciding to focus on Bass and Diode, this decision made after looking up and confirming that they would be up against grass. He’d train Amp too, as back up and just in case, but his focus would be on his starter and the pokemon he’d traded for. Heather, unfortunately, didn’t have the same type advantage Lysander had, but she’d focus on Cadenza and Tina, just because they hadn’t had much of an opportunity to do so. Their decisions made, the siblings sent out their pokemon.
“Your pokemon train on their own?” Heather asked Fabian, rather impressed by how casual the Absol and Scizor seemed over their trainer’s call. “Where should we explore first?” she asked, while Lysander turned to Melody. “You wanna go with them, or stay here with the pokemon?” Cadenza tapped his chin when Susie looked to him, trying to decide what they should do. Training was good, but following their trainers was also a good idea. He was stumped, actually, and a few more chin taps followed before he decided they too should explore, and if they just so happened to come across any tall grass they would charge headfirst in and battle any pokemon they came across. If Susie was okay with that, of course.
