Melody smirked just a bit at the remark, though that quickly faded into a look that an annoyed younger sibling might give an older one when he gave her hair a ruffle. It was an odd gesture on top of the fact that she was slightly taller than him. She just stared a moment longer before shaking her head with a chuckle. "Sure, I guess I could do that, though I was thinking I’d take a walk on the wild side and get an electric scooter instead," she joked.
Tossing her bag back into place, she gave Lysander a nod. "Sure, are you?" She teased a bit with a smirk. Of course, she had no idea exactly to what level of wildlife they could even find in a public garden, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a competition to be had. She looked to Sierra, who at this point taken to eyeing up Lysander, reaching over and giving the Scizor a gentle pat. "Let’s go Sierra, we’ve got a competition to win."
Watching as his Milotic and Heather’s Brionne disappeared under the waves in search of long forgotten treasures, Fabian couldn’t help but grin at the potential finds. Lysander laughed, out loud, at the look Melody gave him. He did his best to convey an apologetic look, one that involved a slight shrug and then his best attempt to suppress his smile. "An electric scooter?" It took several seconds for him to conjure up that exact image of a, slightly older, Melody riding along the highway on but a scooter. "Now that'll be a sight." Lysander chuckled. "Alright, I can help you with that too. At the very least, you'll be the most innovative midlife crisis-er," he contended.
With his-- could he call Diode his partner in this? She didn't actually know what was going on... "Of course. You don't even need to ask," Lysander assured, for both himself and Diode. Though his concentration was, briefly, broken by Sierra's unwavering stare, that was... it was pretty intense. Thankfully, Melody pulled her attention away, while also reminding him that they needed to get a move on. He snorted at Melody's comment, then turned to look at his pokemon. "C'mon, Di. Can't allow them to think they'll win." The gardens, as vast as they were, had to have a few pokemon worth catching.
With an anticipatory sigh, Heather flopped down onto her rear and kept her gaze fixated on the water, eagerly waiting for the pokemon to resurface. In the meantime she'd keep conversation with Fabi, and stare at her watery reflection! Both were good options. "What should we do with all our riches? Sell them? Ordain them onto our best outfits and show them off to the world?" Heather suggested, and tilted her head back so that she could look at Fabi, though he was upside down.
She gave him a smile, then pulled her hands back to press back against the ground. "I ask because I think you should look into entering some! You've got such a flare, I bet you could come up with some great costumes and combos for your pokemon!" Heather couldn't help but to chuckle, practically able to see the gears working in Fabian's head. Maybe she really could do this! "I've seen a bunch of contests, so I could even give you a few tips too -- ooh, maybe we could come back to Hoenn with you! Lys probably knows a lot of stuff too, since he lives there now."

Melody gave a roll of her eyes and a shake of her head at Lysander, doing her best to suppress a bit of a smile despite the oddity of the interaction. She gave an affirmative nod. "Of course. You don’t need an extra license for an electric scooter," she commented matter-of-factly, following with a pleased smile at the other’s confirmation that he would assist her in her midlife crisis. "I’d like that. If you need help with your own, let me know. I’m sure we could come up with something interesting." She teased back with a wink.
With a nod, Melody moved to a patch of nearby grass, taking a glance at the smaller pokemon still wandering about. It seemed fortunate, or troubling, that they hadn’t encountered any other pokemon yet. Then again, they weren’t exactly wandering in the grass at this point.
"Alright Sierra, let’s see what we can find," Melody remarked, putting on a serious expression. The Scizor gave a nod, giving Lysander and Diode another look before quickly fluttering into the grass to find something to combat. It wasn’t long before she found a fight; an Ariados that was rather on the tough side. Or would’ve been, had Sierra not delivered some well placed quick attacks as called by Melody. Unfortunately it took two pokeballs after the pokemon was unconscious, but it was a catch and Melody gave Lysander a look as she held up the ball as it gave a final ding. "That’s one."
Fabian stood back from the water edge, swapping from standing on one foot to the other as he tried to keep patient waiting for the pokemon to return. He mulled over the questions, a grin spreading across his face as he thought of the options. "Hmm…I dunno! I’d think sell them and get new things! Like maybe some stylish clothes? A tour bus? Orrrr instruments! Or a mic…,," he rattled off the first ideas that came to mind, mostly pertaining to music related things. "What would you want to get? I bet a gold coin jacket might be kind of cool," his eyes were already sparkling at the idea.
Fabian of course focused more on the more serious aspect of the conversation concerning contests, giving Heather a bit of a confused look. "You think so?" He ‘hmm’ed, head rolling to one side as uncertainty etched it’s way on his face. "I mean contests seem kind of cool. But that’s not like performing on a stage or anything," he rolled his head back around to his other shoulder. "But I hear there’s a lot of work to it too… and I wouldn’t get to sing, I’d think! I mean, that stuff is supposed to be about the pokemon! And my pokemon are pretty awesome but well… hm…," He straightened up, rubbing under his chin a bit more before the grin returned and he directed his gaze at Heather. "Huh… well if you think so, then sure! I wouldn’t let you lead me wrong on this Heather, I’m gonna need your best tips! Hoenn is it?" He chuckled, hands on his hips, "well that’s where me and Melody were starting out anyways so it sounds perfect to me! We’ll have to ask those two though, but I bet they won’t mind!" Already, he was getting too excited about this. What trouble was being introduced at this point…
In the meantime, Xander was swimming gracefully along the bottoms of the waterbed, looking for so called ‘treasure’. The pokemon expectantly knew that there probably wasn’t anything to be found, but opted to remain down there for a bit just to appease his trainer. Fabian was an excitable one and there might’ve been something worthwhile to find. He tilted his head back a bit and slowed in his speed to address the Brionne that had accompanied him from the girl trainer left with Fabian. ’Have you seen anything of interest? Or should we head back now,’ he inquired politely of the other pokemon in what would’ve been considered a calm and soothing tone, if not a bit nonchalant as if whatever answer wasn’t going to concern him either way. There really didn'r seem to be much down here, but maybe the other had an eye for 'treasure'.
