The days passed in a blur. Takumi preferred the clear waters of the hotel pools to the salty sea. He would float for hours, eyes half-lidded against the sun, pool noodle wedged under his armpits. When he got out, he would observe his wrinkled fingers with detached curiosity, as he sat wrapped in a thick white towel. He fell into a kind of stupor, his motivation to do anything but laze about slowly floating away. Just one more day he told himself, Just one more day, then I’ll move. Who knows how long he would have stayed there, had it not been for that warm night when one of the two eggs he had carried with him all this time finally cracked open.

He had thrown the eggsdown the day he got there and not though tof them since. Well, the eggs clearly would not be forgotten now. As he watched, one of them split open. The trepidation that had been growing in his stomach flitted away when the furry head poked itself out. “Nala…?” The vulpix, laying on the bed, raised her head from her paws. No, the pokemon that pushed itself from the egg was a vulpix, but not… Its fur was a soft white, and when he reached out to touch it there was a definite chill. “Vul!”

The moment he stepped into his room, all thoughts of a cold shower and deep sleep fled Takumi's mind. It would be hard to sleep with blankets that had been ripped to shreds, or pillows whose innards had spewed from the dresser to the chairs. "What-" His eyes darted to his things, a bag that had been torn apart, its contents scattered.
"You really should have been more careful." The voice came from the corner of the room. Takumi froze. "Honestly, I'm surprised it took so long, with how sloppy you were." Dark fabric shifted softly as the man, for it was a man, crossed his arms. "You used the family name, Takumi? Really?" He said Takumi's name with familiarity. Of course; he was a servant of his family, after all. "You think I'm trying to hide?" Takumi was full of bluster, and he knew Andrei knew it too. His heart leapt into his throat when the tall man pushed off the wall. "Well then. You know what I came here for." Takumi, who wasn't sure if Andrei was here to bring him back or kill him, most certainly did not know and really wished Andrei would outright say it. "I'm not going back."
Though Andrei stood in the shadows, Takumi felt the smile creep onto his face. There was no way he was sticking around to find out what the smile was for. He rushed backwards, releasing his pokemon so fast it almost hurt. "Tzut, teleport!" He saw the flash of green feathers, and beyond it, Andrei's movements in the dark. There was a flash of heat, Takumi's ears popped, and then silence.

Dova gave a whine and nuzzled her trainer to try and help him wake up, earning a grumble and an arm latching around her head to help him keep standing. He was still coming around, feeling rather jet lagged from sleeping while traveling. It wasn’t the worst thing he’d ever experienced but it was certainly… hard to get over. She’d managed to find an egg hiding under a beach chair nearby and rushed herself and Noah back to Lafayette to get on to the next area. Sun burns were no fun, and the few occasions Huey had had the misfortune of getting one, he remembered how, well, burnt he’d felt. Itchy too. The resort they arrived at was… certainly fancy, very large too. It made Huey feel a bit underdressed, with his slightly wrinkled clothes and untied shoes. He bent over to correct the latter, tying them as quickly and efficiently as he could, and once done he straightened up to try and smooth out his clothes. They’d need to find this egg quick, before someone pointed out how he, clearly, didn’t belong here.

To keep from being seen by too many people, Huey restricted his search to the side of the resort, where not many people could be found, and when he let out his pokemon he only let out Beep and Prim. He felt bad, this was the fourth area they’d visited where he’d he’d been unable to let Minerva out, for either her size or her appearance; he didn’t think much people would appreciate seeing a large, three-headed dragon just roaming the skies. He hoped he could make it up to her, but he’d need an open area to do that. He’d have to check the list to see what was available to him.

It wasn’t as busy as he thought it might be, but it was busy. At least outside the resort; it looked like there were various amounts of people coming and going, especially of the trainer variety. The number of trainers who seemed to be touching down and then the amount seeming to leave seemed to influx, which caused Sullivan a bit of confusion. He was certain a place that wasn’t one you just dropped by for a day at but well… oh well. He was more interested in the beach anyways and headed his way in that direction. Luckily, you didn’t need to have a reservation to visit the beach.

They didn’t have to go too far, which was good because Lafayette still wasn’t feeling it being here. They managed to touch down just outside the resort and he took a moment to take in the sight and observe it. It was certainly a swanky looking place… it was even weirder that Juliean had sprung for him to stay here was even more suspicious. He grumbled and returned Dova for the time being, heading inside with Cheri and Noah once more to get the reservations set up and out of the way.
It seemed that all things aside, his boss had been truthful. He had a room for a couple of days and everything was already paid for and covered for the time. So really… he could just relax. It was… unnerving. Once he was all checked in he headed up to the room, leaving his things in there for the time being. It was a nice room… like, really nice. It almost felt like a small apartment with the little sectioned off areas for the room, living area and what he could tell was a mini-bar area off in the corner area. Lafayette felt horribly out of place considering the fanciness, but didn’t think much of it, instead flopping onto the queen-sized bed, and grumbling into the pillows as he took a short rest.
Cheri watched a moment, climbing her way onto the study chair, looking over as Noah gave an excited cheer and hopped onto the bed with Lafayette as well. Ugh. She shook her head and settled into the chair, checking the communicator, and answering the texts from earlier.
Text to Huey:
Oh? I’m not shiny though, I am fluffy. You should visit Kalos; it’s alright. It has a lot of pastry shops. I like the jitters, they keep me moving. I’m sure your parents would be fine with it. I don’t know for sure. Or you could just not tell them. Are you as small as Cloud? I don’t think you’ll build the same strength wrestling small pokemon. I guess you could meet him. He is very odd. He lost an arm. But he’s fine. It’s weird. You should throw heavy rocks.
Cheri sent off that text and then moved over to Cloud’s reading it over a moment. She found the text silly, but enjoyed in nonetheless. She would like to meet this Huey and Cloud someday if it were possible.
Text to Cloud: Yes, we’ve been flying a lot. My trainer has a dragon and she flies all over for us. Yes, everything looks very small; like raisins. Or dots. I will try to have my mouth open next time; she doesn’t fly quite that high. Okay, I look forward to the name. I hope it will be good. No I can’t see you just yet, but you seem to be moving a lot. I’m waving back too. Maybe we’ll see each other waving at some point. Yes! Ask Hugo about them. He knows about them he said so. An Ampharos? I’ve never seen that before. Micah is the only fluffy thing my trainer has but I don’t think he will let me ride him so freely. How do you get them to do that? It is a funny word.
And sent. Cheri set the communicator down on the desk and picked up a folded pamphlet sitting atop it listing all the potential activities one could do around the resort. It seemed like Lafayette was content to just keep his face in the bed but that seemed like a waste given the luxuries available. Clearly, she’d have to convince him to head out. She’d let him rest a bit first.
