- »Characters personality: Makato's most notable traits are how gentle, caring and soft spoken he is. Being raised in a loving and equally caring home, he was raised on the belief of if you can offer a helping hand, offer it. He cares deeply about his profession and his squad and tries to help people through these rough times. Makato carries his emotions on his sleeves which leaves him rather vulnerable and fragile. Being exposed emotionally has placed him in a interesting situation as he is actually quite reserved with his genuine feelings and remains timid when others approach him on a friendship level let alone a more serious level of intimacy. Makato has become more shut off after the long years of abuse from a past girlfriend and is now facing his fears. With his possible Captaincy, he has to mature up, close off his emotions a bit better and think with his head rather than his heart. Difficult as it is, every day he tries his hardest. Things that keep him at ease is just simply helping anyone he can, when he can. He is always sneaking off, well trying, and healing anyone that needs it physically or even emotionally. Thing that cause him to be anxious are confrontations and battles. Anything dealing with someone attack the man in any form. May it be a yell, or a vigorous slapping, he is petrified of it and closes himself off. After all the years of abuse from his past girlfriend has made it hard for him to fight these tendencies however as stated before, he tries his hardest to resolve these feelings and fears.

He loves the job he has as a healer which continuously challenges him and makes him grow as a person and a healer. As a happy man, he also loves people in general and their stories they have.

A death of a patient is always awful and he dislikes having to tell the patients family about the death... if that counts. Makato dislikes dishonesty to the fullest. »Biography:Makato had always been a sweet boy. Never one to cause trouble or cause havoc. He was for peace and justice. When he was a kid fighting wasn't something he was necessarily afraid of it was just something he found useless. Instead of fighting he wanted to peacefully dispute any altercations he had somehow created.
In his teens is when he found his one true love. At a mere age of 119 he had already found someone to call his wife, at least to him. It was almost two years before the Academy that him and his lover became more than just friends. He had met her one day while out in the town, looking for some food for his family. She had been selling his favorite fruit, green apples. Makato was not a smooth flirt, he stuttered and his face went flushed, but he made it obvious his attraction toward the women. Every day since the fist day he had met her, he would go up to the market to find her and get a single apple. Each day they would exchange words and grow closer and closer. Just three months after meeting this wonderful women, Makato asked her to be his girlfriend. Unable to say no to the persistent man, she agreed and the two began dating. The two enjoyed cooking together, particularly baking. Every Sunday the two would visit each other's house and cook for each other, it was their thing. Every Wednesday they spent their days wondering around town, buying little trinkets and just being teenagers.
A year had gone by and the two had remained as close as ever. Not a single fight since day one had happened, the two where at complete peace. Every time Makato's girlfriend would get upset Makato was there to beg for forgiveness and blame everything on him, never wanting her to break up with him. The two would make up nearly instantly and move on with their day. It was becoming more and more prominent, the little tiffs the two would share. Still, he would say it was all his fault and beg for forgiveness. Close to two years into their relationship a turning point happened; Makato finally stood up to her.
It was a Sunday, the two where at Makato's girlfriend's house baking a lovely apple pie. Upon slicing the apples, Makato casually brought up his feelings of how one sided things seemed to be recently. He was the one showering her in gifts and affection. She was the one to demand more stating if he truly loved her, he would give her more to show his love. A small fight began between the two. She felt hurt and felt attacked by his sudden statement, her anger rose and Makato finally told his feelings and a hand was swung onto his face. Makato couldn't believe his girlfriend would slap him. He would stand in shock, rubbing his cheek lightly as his girlfriend demanded he apologize for what he had done. She would begin crying continuing with how hurt she felt. Makato begged for forgiveness.
The two entered into the academy together. Nearly three years into their relationship and Makato had learned not to disagree with his girlfriend. It was his fault of course, he should make sure her needs are kept and she was happy. After all, he is a man and a man takes care of his girl. Having friends in the academy was hard as Makato's girlfriend would get angry easily over him making friends, especially female friends. Getting slapped had started to become the normal thing now and he believed thats how relationships where suppose to be.
Not many friends indeed. Makato was rather odd, he got quite scared when fighting. Every hit that was given to him during practices came with a flinch and his heart racing. It started to become rather regular and soon the academy wondered if he was fit enough to be apart of the Gotei. However they believed that Makato was going to pull through this phase and join the ranks, just like the rest of them. Becoming more lenient on Makato when it came to physical training, Makato spent much of his days tending to peoples cuts and bruises and learning how to block attacks through kido.
Going through the academy his relationship with his girlfriend remained. It also remained violent. Every time Makato would do something wrong in his girlfriends book came with a slap, punch, pinch, hit, and now knifes and lighters where a punishment. She demanded a lot out of him. Physically, mentally, spiritually. It was taking a tole on him as his body began to show extreme signs of abuse. Through his whole back scars of fire, small cuts, bruises where evident on it. Hell bent on loving this girl no one could get through to him.
Graduation day was going to be the day he stood up to her.
Nine years of torture and abuse and Makato finally had enough. He needed to break free. He was tired of being tired. Sick of being sick. The last year of their relationship he kept telling himself he deserved something better, a better life without her. He was petrified of fighting, of relationships, of a lot of things now because of her and it was preventing him from accomplishing his goals. Graduation day was the day. It had to be.
Graduation was a joyful thing for everyone except Makato. His nervousness was obvious but what wasn't obvious was the reason why as everyone assumed it was because of graduating. After the ceremony the two wandered off to talk alone. His girlfriend could sense something was off as for once he demanded to talk to her rather than beg. Already on edge, the women started to get angry. She spat out quite a few vulgar words to Makato on how he's hogging her time and wasting it. He spoke those few words out in a rushed, worried, and frantically before he raised his hands to cover his face. Silence came first as his girlfriend, ex girlfriend, stood shocked. The silence lasted for only a moment as Makato watched as rage filled her eyes as she started to vigorously beat Makato with anything and everything.
He deserved it, he thought, until someone finally stopped his ex girlfriend from beating him. Facial fracture were nothing new to Makato but this was the worst beating yet. He could feel the red fluid coming out of his hears, nose, mouth, and possibly eyes. His nose was crushed, a tooth or two chipped, scratches down a side of his face. Over his body large lacerations from a broken bottle she had cracked on his head, and many upon many bruises.
It took nearly a month to recover from all the injuries that she had given him. His nose never went straight again but thankfully the doctors treated his other wounds with care and left only light scars that would fade in ten years or so. In that month Makato had gotten close with a lot of the division four members and soon was accepted as a division four member where he learned the trick of the trade even better than before. Through this all only the physical wounds healed, he still had quite a while till his mental wounds healed.

»Released appearance: Dear old mother spirit, she herself, becomes gigantic and stands behind Makato, standing a good 19 feet up in the air. She hold an soft glow that any mother naturally gives. As she appears out of his blade, a great mist covers the two as she slowly starts to grow into the size stated above.
»Abilities:
Mother Spirit carries the ability to block attacks. Mother's Spirits hands, not fisted, move swiftly directly in front of Makato. Forming a barrier with her hands and arms. Due to her size, both hands of Mother Spirit can cover Makato fully. Her arms and hands act as a barrier or armor of sorts. It can block against physical attacks such as a slash of the hand and can handle the force of kido's no higher than #70's. Mother Spirit will retract her hands the instant a powerful kido hits her hands, leaving Makato exposed to the kido. For any physical based attack, Mother Spirit can protect from Shikai based attacks five [5] times. She can protect from Bankai based attacks two [2] times. Mother Spirit can protect Makato from non-shikai/bankai based physical attacks seven [7] times. Once her limit is met, Mother spirit will no longer block with her hands nor body at all, she will simply remain behind Makato and scream loudly when he is injured. Mother Spirit herself cannot be hurt, however any damage inflicted onto Makato becomes present on Mother Spirit and can hinder her. Take for example if Makato got his right arm scorched by a kido, Mother Spirits arm would resemble what Makato's arm looked like. The same goes for if Mother Spirit, if she's hit, Makato get's damaged as well. In relation to mobility, the two are limited. Mother Spirit being nearly four times the size of the average Shinigami, her steps are slow and drag, thus using techniques like Shunpo are useless if Makato wishes to use Mother Spirits barrier. If Makato is forced to leave Mother Spirits arm's reach, she will slowly follow behind him and takes a few seconds [one post] to get behind Makato.
This ability is active when Makato raises his hands to cover his face as he becomes petrified by what is coming to him, attack wise or kido. In a fit of rage, Mother Spirit raises her massive hands, balled into a fist, and slams them down on the ground sending a massive pressure wave that can deflect an attack, deflect an opponent, and possibly cause damage if the opponent happens to be right where the hands swing down. Due to the sheer amount of force a crater of 200 feet deep and 500 feet in diameter.

In times of need, Makato can ask Mother Spirit to protect those around him. This ability allows Mother Spirit to conceal over 2000 feet of land in her arms, protecting them from harms way. This takes a tole on Makato's Reiryoku, thus he can only use this ability 5 times. This ability is typically used when he needs to protect those whom he's treating. People cannot enter this force field that Mother Spirit has created unless Makato states they're allowed to enter. This dome protects every attack up to the 90's in kido. When it comes to physical attacks, you could compare the strength of Mother Spirits protection as a bunker that can protect a nucular bomb. [10 post duration, 5 post cool down, only allowed to use it 5 times ]
In order to continuously heal people, Mother Spirit blesses Makato with a kiss on his head, allowing him to heal fatal injuries up to 80%, making them simple flesh wounds, all minor or moderate wounds heal instantly. Mother Spirit can only offer Makato this kiss once.
