At some point, she pokes it too much with her nose while it's distracted, and it squeaks and seems to cuddle her back. Wow, that was unexpected, she thinks, and concludes hey, whatever helps!

It violently switches gears tho when she manages to poke a wound that she can see is hidden under its neck near it's face. The bite sucks, but hey, at least she's sure now that she's seen everything. She gasps a little in surprise and ducks away to give it some space now.

A gigantic, black bear shifts out of the swamp then with a low snarl. It's massive, something that Fowl has never seen before, and she shrinks away in fear, instinctively delivering a kick. It's weak, given her shaken alarm, but it's something. It's clearly interested in the injured pangolin - maybe it smelled the blood. It takes a nasty swing back at her in response and she feels its claws.

She makes another rough kick and takes another nasty swing of some long bear-claws. This was going to be particularly dangerous.

She rears back for another kick, a rather nice clocking in the face, and takes a claw to the leg - ouch!

She slams it hard, and notices that it seems to have almost shattered into black sand. What IS this thing?! It nails her again with its massive claws, and she thinks she's pretty lucky having avoided its teeth thus far.

She takes a final swing at the beast and watches it dissipate under her hooves in a puff of smoke. It startles her, and she leans back as its last act is to rush past her face and injure her again. But now, it seems to be dead... and the pangolin is safe. For now.

She concludes the pangolin is no longer safe and that it's time to move. However, the first path she decides to investigate looks a little dangerous... No harm no... FOWL.... she concludes, as since she's already here, it doesn't really set her back very far. (You see that Thy? [8 )

She determines she'll try the path next to it and see where it goes. She sets the pangolin in a large turtle shell by the brook nearby, and sets out. So far so good.

They travel along for a while, seemingly in peace, and the pangolin seems to enjoy the little ride in the shell. It squeaks rather happily and curiously at things as they go by.

She wiggles the shell back and forth as they continue to travel along and it seems to find it amusing and squeaks louder at her. She smiles around the small vine in her mouth as she tugs.

It really seemed to enjoy the ride and before long, she finds a cave they can duck into next to a beaten path. There must be someone nearby she can ask for help. She tugs the pangolin in who is squeaking excitedly now - she'll have to remember this for when she gets home and if she finds a companion. She smirks.

Fowl travels the road a bit asking for help if anyone knew any salves or where to find them, and learns they're across a grove of trees on the other side of said path. She hurries along and... wouldn'tcha know? It's full of nasty thorns. She's loathe to attempt to bite then and instead rears up for a kick instead. One way or another, she has to get over there! They sting as they claw her a bit but not too bad.

She rears up again to clear some more thorns as the sting isn't so bad as the bear's claws from earlier. She shakes it off and powers through.

The sting hurts a bit but she concludes it's still nothing compared to the bear and swings again.
