Yuna pulled away quickly, gaining her composure back and a degree of confidence after that pity party. "Anyway enough about the past. What you planning for the future?" She asked, having nothing to do since she had also missed the tournament, but her excuse was more of realizing how unprepared she was compared to others.
๑๑๑๑"Well..." Hideo started before he trailed off a bit. "....Uhhh. Huh." For once Hideo found himself a bit stumped, all this time away from home training for some apparently looming dangers and he'd never thought about what to do with himself after. "I guess I haven't really thought about it. I've been so caught up in clan affairs I haven't really had a chance to. Maybe a bit of combat training, but other than that I don't know. Hey, maybe I can teach you some jutsu of a new element if you're up for it."
Yuna smirked. "What did you learn Mokuton in Konoha?" She teased, not sure which element he was talking about. "You ever think about learning some different skills like smithing or cooking?" Yuna asked, it seemed not a lot of ninja were taking advantage of the training classes for non-ninja skills.
๑๑๑๑Hideo's expression fell back to it's regular flat nature as she teased him. He smirked slightly though muttering, "Hey, I might have a water technique or two up my sleeves you don't." As she mentioned two trades, Hideo nodded. "Actually, when I was in Konoha I grew used to the Hyuuga smith who was there simply to keep everyone's gear in perfect condition, and the intricate weapons he could create. If I'm going to be any use as a swordsman, I'm going to have to regurlarly upkeep my katana, and that can cost more and more with the better the sword is. Plus, I'd like to make a weapon to truly call my own one day. What about you?"
"I might try and make a weapon or two, I really want to try and craft some armor. Something to help tank a little more then just this shield and body." Yuna said, she might have browsed a style or two that needed armor. "I just feel safer with something made by my own hands you know? When you know something in and out, you can trust it more...Also cooking seems fun." She trailed off because cooking god tier food sounded like a dream.
Katherine couldn't help but smile a bit as the leader of her village regarded her. The smile was one of innocence and maturity in kind; someone whom she'd held in the same regards people hold legends had just proven herself to be... human. Well humanish. She didn't like being formalized as such? That was fine, the curtsy was almost entirely for show anyway. Still the woman reached for a headband and Katherine smiled at it. This wasn't eactly what she was here for, but regardless she wasn't going to turn it down. "I thank you," she spoke in a voice almost reverent. She held the black headband, looking upon the symbol with what could easily be confused as pride. In truth, she was again, going to that place in her mind where she kept her ideas. It took her a moment to do so, tying her head band in place around her waist, somewhat restraining her outfit like a very thin obi. She took a moment to look over herself, ensuring that everything was where it was supposed to be asthetically, and allowed the Kazekage to finish speaking before she did. "Ah yes, training. The never ending journey to become strong, to become... recognized. I think this chance encounter, in all it's serendipity, is likely a sign that it is mine, for now, to do a bit of training, familiarize myself more with the aspects of combat I specialize in. To that end, I bid you farewell for now, Kazekage," and without another second she nodded respectfully and turned on her heels.
For something to catch her eye, usually it has to fit into one of a few drastically volatile criteria. One day she may be searching for inspiration in the bland, the dull, the easily forgotten or overlooked, and in the very next she would find only the beautiful and striking even the most basic level of interesting. Today, it just so happened she was looking for things that stuck out. Buldging veins were definitively in that category, and so were the pale, almost opalescent eyes that they crawled into. Katherine watched as another approached him, speaking to him of something she couldn't hear over the buzzing noise. She took careful steps as she approached the pair. She caught on to the last few words of Yuna's talk regarding making things she would be able to trust and determined that was the moment she would interject. She had walked almost passed the pair without speaking, trying to be unassuming. At that, she turned to them.
"I was thinking something along similar lines, actually, at the graduation from the ninja academy. Puppeteers are a dime a dozen, but what makes us special is the tools we use. What better than something we ourselves have created?" she mused a bit. She would flash white teeth, smiling as much with her mouth as her eyebrows and cheeks. A trick she learned to not allow the blocked eyes to confuse people, and a skill every actor knows: emoting with your whole body, in addition to your words. "I'm terribly sorry, where have my manners gone. I am Kay, and I am also green as grass in the ninja world." She tapped the head band at her waistline. "Actually I was only now given the go ahead to begin training while we wait for more missions to flow in, but I don't know exactly where the training grounds are. I should, I know, but a busy life has allowed the knowledge to slip. I don;t suppose one of you minds pointing me on my way? Ninjutsu and kugutsu don't teach themselves,"[/b' she concluded. A small lie, but hopefully a way to slightly endear them by harkening them back to their time as new genin. Small fish in big ponds. Something about the pair was standing out among the sea of gray faces, and the girl's slightly intrusive nature was getting the better of her.

__ Zhi came barrelling into the observation deck's room place at full speed. Well, she had to try to stop at the door. WHAM! "Gak!? Owwy!!" THUMP. The girl had to pick herself up after the brief crash, but that was okay. It only stung a little. Maybe her papa would kiss the booboo on her forehead later if she told him about it? That'd be nice. "Gosh darn doors. Always slowing people down and stuff..." Zhi grumbled aloud as she entered the room. Looking around, she'd spot a whole lot of people. Some she knew, others not so much. Still, it was exciting! This was where the rest of the tournament was being watched? 'I wonder if Taylor is still in the roster?' Before she could pursue the thought about her friend of sorts she got this impulsive desire to make herself even better noticed than running into doors on the way into rooms. An introduction would probably do just fine. Zhi took a deep breath, cupped her hands over her mouth and shouted with abundant cheer, "HEEEEELLLLLOOOO EVERYBODY! I'm Zhi Zenshin, but everyone can call me Zippy! It'ssowonderfultomeeteveryone! Ihopeweallgetalonganddolotsoffunstufftogether!!!!!" To fit the rest into one breath she fell back into her habit of talking as fast as possible.
Sure sure, yelling indoors was bad. Mama always scolded her for it. But these were people she had to get to know 'cause they were her comrades and maybe one day even close and dear friends. Who had time to be prim and proper when it was so much easier and more efficient to say what you meant and felt all in one go? NOBODY, that's who. At least, Zhi definitely didn't. The little girl just smiled brightly after making her announcement and skipped around the rest of the way into the room. She wanted to meet and talk with people, but there were so many here that she didn't know who to go to first. Maybe someone would come her way instead? That'd save some time too. Mhmmmm! If not then she'd just have to make an actual choice and hope that nobody felt left out for it.

As Bast swallowed the last bite of a fairly tepid burger, she started to note the conversations throughout the room. Tetsuhiko had gone off to fight and seemed to be intent on being heard even from the arena; she silently wondered how intent he was on damaging his hearing if he was sitting that close to a walking pipe organ. There were also a couple of ninja who'd been in the Chuunin Exams milling about in the observation room, talking about their futures. A new kunoichi introduced herself rather formally to the Kazekage; Bast approved of the show of respect, though the opposite was true of the roundabout way of talking the girl employed.
And then there was Zhi. With the lungs that girl had, Bast had to wonder if she could use Fuuton. She know of a couple techniques in that category required extraordinary lung capacity, but this girl already seemed to exceed that requirement. Despite Zhi's complete lack of decorum, Bast approved of her straightforward nature and sympathized with her dislike of doors, good as they were for improvised weapons. Bast looked at her for a second, then turned her attention back to the fighting.
๑๑๑๑"Mmm," was Hideo managed to get out before a girl who had just passed by them turned and began to speak to the pair. He'd spied her on the other side of the room speaking with the Kazekage earlier, however his attention had been too occupied with the arenas below for him to have caught anything of importance. Her manner of speach was...flowery to say the least. The way she smiled after injecting herself into the conversation at first seemed genuine, however as his vision telescoped into her face there was something about the muscles under her cheekbones. It reminded him of a Kitsune. The smile may have been genuine, but the intent behind it could teeter in either direction. As he blinked a couple of times readjusting back to attempting to focus his attention towards the newcomer's direction so his eyes would seemingly meet hers instead of all around to ease the strain on his vision, she introduced herself.
"Hideo Anzai Hyuuga. It is nice to meet you." His tone was rather subdued, although the ups and downs of the inflections behind his words lent themselves to being a genuine greeting. He tilted his head just slightly as a greeting, tilting his left eyebrow slightly upwards. "As for your inquiry, it seems like you never took a moment to explore behind the academy. The ninjutsu training area is there. However, the dojo is a bit farther away in a more civilian part of town. As far as Kugutsu....I'm afraid I'm unsure if there is an entirely separate area for the art. Yuna here and I were thinking about maybe dipping our hands into smithing first, however to be honest I've yet to meet a kugutsu specialist personally. I'm open to being a live target for your training when the time comes, I need to keep up with my recent regimen anyway."
Hideo had never put himself against a puppeteer and was intent on doing so if anything to learn the ins and outs. How puppets move, what movements indicate what, and even more importantly how to breach such an inventive offensive and defensive line. Besides, he never did get to fully start that 2 on 1 match during the exams. He wanted to see how well he could do alone against seemingly two opponents, perhaps more. It was then that Hideo's attention shifted quickly towards the door as it banged open. The girl who'd just come in was boisterous, an oddly timed complete character foil to the girl whos acquaintance he had just met. He couldn't help but smirk slightly. He had to give it to the girl now known as Zhi Zenshin, she made an entrance and had no scrupples of making herself known.
Not too quick yet none to slow, Hideo's right hand raised up above his head, waving once and nodding. Placing his hand down he turned his attention back to Yuna and company. He'd see Zhi again, and probably hear her coming before she was in view, but right now he had some matters to discuss.
Yuna stood by as Hideo did the talking, he was better at these discussions then her. "Excuse me." Yuna excused herself and walked over to Zhi. "Hello I am Yuna, did you need help with anything Zhi?" She asked as the young girl seemed new as well and Yuna being a more senior genin was looking to try and help. She remembered being new and being lost if Hideo didn't help her. Yuna hoped to return the favor to someone else.
__ Zhi eagerly watched the others. While she did opt to stand around and wait for someone to say hi to her, she felt that impatient itchy tingle running up from her feet and along her spine. God she hated waiting, stopping, and everything like that. For a while she just hopped in place. People would be afraid to know that she didn't even have any sugar or caffeine in her system right now. Zhi saw that the got a glance from a lady who had been watching the matches before, but the greeting wave of Hideo's hand also drew her attention. Ooooh, which did she go to? The boy seemed busy talking to two other kunoichi. She didn't want to get in the way of one's Springtime of Youth, so she just waved back to Hideo. Instead, she'd pay more mind to the former who shared even a shred of attention. 'Wait... isn't that...?' Now, even though Zhi was a really novice ninja, she was still pretty familiar with celebrities in the village. Not like she could ignore the Kazekage being here, but the former Kazekage was present too!? Zhi could feel that star-struck wave of excitement roll over her again. However, before she would make a daring approach a female's voice pulled her back down to earth. "Help?" She repeated back distractedly while still staring at Bastet from afar. Yuna's offer finally clicked into place and Zhi replied, "Oh! Uhmn... n-no. I don't think so." The hyperactive child gave her kohai the properly deserved attention now. "Nice to meet ya though!" Zhi offered Yuna a friendly hand shake, "I came to meet people and make friends with my peers. If you'll be my friend then I think that'd be just dandy!" She grinned stupidly and kept her hand available for the hand shake if it were to be accepted.
Yuna shook her hand with a smile. "I think I can do that, if you do find yourself needing anything. Just come find me, I'm always available." She said as she returned to her group, not wanting to be too baring on her new friend. Though she was open if Zhi wanted to come over and meet more people.
๑๑๑๑Hideo's attention drifted slightly as Yuna made her way towards Zhi, his vision widening to include the interaction. Zhi seemed as bubbly as she had been since she got here, certainly in good spirits. And as he watched Yuna accept the handshake, Hideo figured Yuna might have just found someone more prone to boredom than herself. As Yuna returned, Hideo tapped her with his elbow. "Made a new friend I see." As Hideo thought more and more about his surroundings, he noticed something rather peculiar. There weren't very many men up here, the only other one he saw was a man who seemed to emanate prowess, a suspected jounin who had been speaking with a girl who may have been his pupil.
It wasn't an oddity in Suna for there not to be a disparity of kunoichi like there was in some of the other villages. The desert was a harsh place, and one had to be strong to survive. Since its foundings, Sunagakure relied on the strength of all of its people to prosper and thrive in a place most quite frankly could not. One of those founding females in fact, a household name and somewhat of a village hero, former Kazekage Bast was in fact in the room as well. Hideo had heard tale after tale about the woman, however was apprehensive to approach someone of that stature. Sure he was prone to speaking to the current Kazekage frequently, but she was his reporting officer and leader of the village. He had to see her as a shinobi. Bast however had retired, although her reputation had yet to do the same. She was someone Hideo could never see himself being face to face to much less in conversation with unless she or the current Kazekage willed it. For now, he admired the woman from afar.
__ Zhi took her hand back after sharing a little moment with her newest friend. "She's nice." She sighed appreciatively while Yuna went back to the rest of her company. Tempting as it was to follow, Zhi couldn't let the opportunity sitting right in front of her pass her by. The girl directed her attention back to the woman who quietly paid her mind when she arrived. Sure, the Hero of Sunagakure was preoccupied watching the ongoing matches, but didn't mean she couldn't spare a moment or two... right? Zhi meant to find out for sure. One moment, she was where she was but in the blink of an eye she had moved to stand near the former Kazekage. Fear not! As impulsive as Zhi is, she knew what personal boundaries were. She stopped just out of her newest idol's arm reach. Those three seconds of courage melted away and her voice became shaky, "U-uhm... ex-excuse me, Hero-sama- I mean, Bastet. No, no. To informal! Ah!" Zhi groaned despairingly. Why was this so hard!? Sure... this woman was the epitome of epic, but that didn't mean she wasn't just another person. Zhi scolded herself under her breath, "Get it together me!" Afterward she looked to the woman again only to perceive a rosy image of Bastet. "Oh my gosh... please let me breathe the same air as you..." What she blurted out didn't even register in her mind as she gawked like the star-struck idiot she was.
Hideo. He even had an interesting name. She allowed the name to write itself into her memory, and matched it with his voice. Not as melodious as what she typically tended to... well to pine over but it was uniquely his. She didn't know the particulars of his occular prowess, so unknown to her, he was able to see that her eyes rolled over his arms, chin, back to his own behind her shades. She wasn't sizing him up, not really anyway. In her mind, he was already auditioning, already a part of the cast, and now he was rehearsing lines. He spoke of the traning field behind the school and she opened her mouth as if to go "oh!" Indeed, she had neglected that area of the academy for the most part. Too busy to stop there as it were. She nodded to what he was saying about smithing, and that's where she intended to inquire further.
Until an outburst caught her attention. Zhi had made her way into the room, and made quite a bit of noise. Now that's a character, Katherine commented to herself as the one who had opted out of speaking walked away. To Zhi, Kay offered a single handed wave as well, though hers was a bit reserved. Her sleeve fell down her arm, and for a second, a scare few insects could be seen burrowing away from the light. She turned her eyes back to the one named Hideo, and regarded him as she planned to. "Smithing, huh? I've been warned by my father that puppetteering is an expensive job, and I'd likely be better off learning to make all my own tools. I haven't begun to dabble in that one of the many arts, but I assuredly do plan to. As for fighting kugutsu users... that's a ball park few have a lot of practice with. When I get my bearings, I'd be happy to give you a show," she remarked, putting her hands together, feeling the insects within her respond to the small bit of excitement, moving to feed on the minutely increased chakra production. She neglgected to say that he would be a part of the show, one of the key players in fact. Oh how the thought of turning ninja into actors excited her, much less than the brand of puerile joy that came from imagining an entire battlefield, all held captive by her ability before being eaten alive by her children.
