The quiet of the room that followed Gannon's reassurance that they would hopefully soon have some answers, was almost deafening... The Fennec Child's ears would swivel in Brageet's direction as the Owl fluffed up her feathers a bit, but other than that, the bird appeared to be asleep...

Her eyes, although focused low because of the way she felt would take in all of what she could see from that angle and it was no surprise that the Court Mage kept his office quite tidy - Of course, there were no doubt papers to be read or signed and books that could be used to pass the time, or for research, but apart from that and the tea and snacks... Jesse's tummy gave a grumble as her gaze fell across the latter and her mind questioned if she had even had breakfast that morning...

"Umm...I might take a biscuit...if that's alright?" She knew the man had offered, but with Rin having accompanied her as well, there was no telling if the Husky had also failed to find something to sate any possible hunger? If reassured that was indeed okay, Jesse would take one of the larger biscuits and snap it in half before offering the larger piece to her friend - It didn't matter if Rin took it or not, but the Fox would take a tiny nibble of her own half before looking back towards Brageet,

The Owl had always intrigued the Fox, but with her size and of course the fact that she was only a little creature when she shifted, Jesse still found her a little intimidating - even after all the reassurance that she was highly unlikely to predate on any student within the Academy grounds... Gannon's sigh made her ears twitch, once again drawing her gaze before dropping to the floor again as they awaited any sign of the female he'd sent for...

The silence by this point had Rin growing increasingly umcomfortable, yet she could not for the life of her think of how to go about breaking it. She already was not good with conversing around people... Let alone initiating a topic. Not to mention her options felt severely limited as the Shifter felt it would be insensitive to try and think of a topic to distract herself or others from what was happening. The girl looked to her friend who had started to actually develop at least a small appetite now... It was better than nothing though. When Jesse offered a half of the biscuit she'd politely shake her head and give the roommate a small smile. As far as the Husky was concerned, she'd worry about herself later.

In a small effort to try to lift Jesse's mood however, Rin took a shot at the partial shifting she had been trying to work on... Her face scrunched up with slight frustration, attempting to shift only a part of herself. This resulted in her nose morphing into the small nose from her Husky form, though without the long jaw it sort of just looked like a large black spot where a regular human nose was meant to be. It was a little embarassing that she could only manage such a small detail right now, but regardless Rin stared in her friends direction, curious to see if there would be any reaction, even it only a brief smile.

Gannon looked up at Jesse and gave her a warm, kind smile and a nod. β€œAs many as you like, Jesse.” He was glad to see that she at least had some appetite. Jesse’s generosity toward Rin was sweet and it warmed his hear to see the two friends looking out for one another. Turning his attention back to the reports on his desk, he sighed a little bit to himself – he hoped Lelyna arrived soon.

Not more than thirty minutes later, a light knock could be heard at the door. Breathing a sigh of relief, Gannon arose from his seat and approached the door. Opening it, he gave Lelyna warm smile and gestured for her to enter. β€œGood Afternoon, Lelyna. Thank you for coming on such short notice, on your day of leisure. I apologize of you were busy with other things.” Gannon said as he closed the door behind her.

β€œGood Afternoon, Headmaster. There is no need to apologize. I had one small errand to run but it is finished now. How may I help?” Lelyna asked as she approached Gannon’s desk and took note of the two shifter females that were seated there already. One looked much like Gin’s sister, who had clung to his back last year during the graduation ceremony. Giving them warm smiles, she nodded to them both.

Grabbing a chair, Gannon placed it to the side of his desk and bid Lelyna to sit before he took his own seat. β€œLelyna, this is Jesse Randall and Catherine Enzo, two of our shifter students. As of late, Jesse has been suffering from some terrible nightmares, of which we suspect might not be a nightmare at all, but buried memories trying to resurface.” He explained with a heavy sigh and a bit of a frown. β€œI hate to ask it of you, but we are at our wits end and you are a Master of Memory, Lelyna. I hoped that you might be able to help us determine if what Jesse is experiencing is in fact just a horrible nightmare, or something worse.”

Lelyna was distressed to hear that Jesse had been plagued with such distressing dreams. Nodding a bit, she looked to the petite girl and gave her a warm, reassuring look. β€œOf course I’d be happy to help.” Shifting her chair closer, she looked toward Jesse and offered her her hands. β€œWith your permission, Jesse, I would like to connect with you and see if I can sort through some of your memories to find what we are looking for. Would that me alright?”

Jesse wasn't necessarily disheartened by Rin's polite refusal to accept the other half of biscuit, but she was perhaps a little concerned for her friend, seeing as though neither of them had really eaten anything that morning...

Although Gannon had granted her the opportunity to take as many biscuits as she liked, Jesse felt quite content to carefully nibble the edge of the half she'd already started on, glancing towards the Husky before smiling as her fellow Shifter attempted a partial-transformation. The result resembled a strange black pebble where her nose should be and it made her smile, if only slightly. Rin seemed to be working really hard on her Raiment and although Jesse was far from that particular stage in her learning, she definitely admired her friend's skill.

When that inevitable knock finally graced the door upon the Diviner's arrival, Jesse felt her tummy tense uncomfortably... She still held Rin's half of biscuit in her hand and although she could very well have eaten it - for she was hungry enough to - the little Shifter suddenly felt less of an urge to want to finish it and so set it back down on the desk...

Lelyna's smile was definitely a pleasant sight to see and the Fennec Child would return it as best she could, but it was as Gannon pulled up a chair for the female and explained the reason for her summoning that Jesse started to feel nervous again... There was no telling if or how they were going to unravel her dreams and with a vivid imagination content to throw up scary scenarios just for kicks, the little Shifter found herself not quite panicking, but definitely rather restless...

It was nice to hear that Lelyna was more than happy to help out and Jesse's eyes would lock with the Diviner's as the female shifted her chair closer before offering her hands... "Y...you have it," She would nod, a tremor of trepidation quite notable in her voice as she granted Lelyna permission to connect with her, "I...just need to know...the truth." She was understandably hesitant, but would gradually offer her hands towards the Diviner's, uncertain as to how things were going to play out following that particular move...

Should she shut her eyes? Hold her breath perhaps? No...that was silly, but surely there was something she needed to do...? What about thinking about her dream...would that help? Or did she have to keep her mind Crystal Clear...? Her ears flicked forward as she mulled over these thoughts, then flopped backwards as she pondered over what was going to happen once Lelyna began...

Lelyna could tell that Jesse was more than a little nervous. She didn’t blame her – sometimes facing one’s memories could be scary. Giving her another warm smile, she gently grasped Jesse’s hands, her thumbs lightly caressing the tops of her hands. β€œBe at ease, Jesse…all you need to do is sit and have patience.” Lelyna explained in a calm, soothing tone.

β€œYou don’t need to do anything other than that, alright? I’ll connect with you and enter the library of your mind, where your memories are stored. It might take me a few tries, but I’m going to sort through your memories to try to find what we’re looking for. With any luck, we’ll succeed.” Lelyna knew that she had a 75% shot at finding the right memory right away, but to help Jesse, she’d try as many times as she needed to find what was plaguing the little shifter.

Taking in a deep breath, Lelyna closed her eyes and slowly let the breath out. Holding Jesse’s hands in hers, she waited for the connection to be established with her. This usually took about five minutes of contact, and in no time, Lelyna’s mind was connecting with Jesse’s.

Standing in the β€˜library’ of Jesse’s mind, Lelyna looked around her, a small smile on her face. The shelves were neatly ordered with a chronological catalog of Jesse’s memories. All the way from her first memories as a baby, to the present, where the current memory β€˜book’ was being written. Much to her delight, the β€˜space’ of Jesse’s mind was clear and warm, with planted fauna and sunlit areas. It was a welcoming mind, neatly ordered, yet a bit wild, given the plants. Stepping along the shelves, Lelyna moved along the shelves until she came to a specific area that was a bit more disheveled than the others. There were memories placed there haphazardly, some were out of order from what she could see and there was a darker area that was highly unusual.

β€˜Curious…’ She thought as she reached out, grasping for a memory that was a bit pressed back in its β€˜shelve’, the book was dark, its title missing. Grasping the β€˜book’ she held it in her hands and frowned. It was locked…and the cover was scratched, tattered, stained. This was a very bad memory…Sensing that this was exactly what she was looking for, Lelyna concentrated with all of her might, focusing her raiment on that memory, working with all her strength to break that seal and reveal what that lock was hiding…Lelyna realized little too late that some locks were not meant to be undone, some memories not meant to be revisited...

Just as soon as the memory began, the first thing that was heard was a echoing shout of a scream that reverberated and echoed through the trees. Just moments before, the young girl had been lightly walking through the treeline, the snow falling all around her, her feet dredging through the untouched path, the trees slowly swaying in the wind as she made her way humming happily. Looking around, her hands would catch some of the falling snow playfully as she moved forward, her voice lightly singing a melodic tune as she got closer to her intended destination. As she drew close, her excitement and anticipation grew, causing her to start to move at a faster pace, until that scream...

The loud scream echoed out through the tree line, a voice she didn't recognize, and Jesse stopped dead in her tracks. She couldn't see anything, couldn't make out anything aside from the trees, and so slowly, reluctantly she started to move forward. At first, there was nothing but silence, even the falling snow and winds didn't ring in her ears after being startled from what she heard earlier, but as she drew closer she could hear the winds pick up, blowing louder and more forceful as the snow started to blow about from the ground and cause a snowy mist that obscured everything around her. "AZURAAAAA!!!!" A much more familiar voice suddenly shouted out, before the sounds of heavy footsteps running forward in the snow could be heard. A voice that she would recognize immediately, the voice of the very person she was there to meet. "N-nanashi?" Jesse's voice would ring out as she started to run forward, dread now filling her heart. "HOW COULD YOU!!!!" Nanashi's familiar voice yelled out again as the winds picked up again, blowing forcefully, much harder then it had before, and Jesse ran forward even harder.

Just as Jesse reached the clearing, what caught her eyes couldn't have instilled anymore fear in her then what she had already imagined from the screams that had echoed out earlier. "HHHHHAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!" Nanashi screamed out angrily as he jumped high into the air, his raiment thrusting him towards a target with weapons in hand as something seemed to be burning in the distance across from them. Jesse couldn't quite make out who Nanashi was fighting thanks to the billowing misty snow thrown about by the rampant winds, but her fear grew with every passing moment, especially when the figure started to move. As Nanashi came down to strike at him, the figure suddenly lifted his hand up, thrusting his arm forward, and before Nanashi even reached him he was suddenly stopped mid-air as if he had been caught in place, frozen, sustained, and held up in the air, his body hanging and struggling as if he was being held up by his throat, even though he was still several yards away from the figure. The sounds of gurgled, muffled breathing could be heard coming from Nanashi as he tried to breath and move, and Jesse gasped as the tears started to flow. Nanashi brought his hands up to his throat as if he was trying to claw and resist whatever was holding him up, but there was nothing there, and his hands met with nothing.

As Nanashi struggled to breath, struggled to fight, struggled to free himself, he lost control of his raiment and the winds suddenly died down, allowing the snow to fall lightly once more, clearing the air, and for the first time the young girl could see the assailant. "N-no..." She would let out as the scene before her suddenly became clear. Standing in the middle of the clearing was their Academy Court Mage, the man who rekindled all of their wonder at the opening ceremony and had been watching over them throughout the year, the man whose magic incited both fear and wonder throughout the school, the Royal Court Mage Rhysian De'Valaer... What was worse, was for the first time she could see clearing what was burning on the other end of the clearing, a corpse that was no longer recognizable, a single hand risen slightly as the flames ate away at the body.

As Rhysian stood in the clearing, his arm held up with his hand in a clawed closing fist, Nanashi's gurgled breathing became more and more intense, and his gasping became lighter and lighter as he tried to breath, his body becoming more and more limp as its struggle was slowly restrained. With the wind having died down, the sound around them returned, and with her shifter hearing what she heard next she couldn't believe. "Take Solace, that your death was nothing personal..." Rhysian would say as his piercing blue eyes narrowed at Nanashi who struggled just to breath. "You were simply in the wrong place, at the wrong time..."

With that, Rhysian closed his fist, and Nanashi would let out the most heart wrenching scream a man could make, his body suddenly shaking violently as his limbs started to convulse intensely, pushing, pulling, twitching, and bending in ways the body wasn't meant to as blood started to pour out of every orifice. Jesse took only one step forward at first, holding her hand out as she tried to gain breath, her voice gone completely silent as her hands shook in fear. As Nanashi slowly died in torment, the dark narrowed gaze of Rhysian upon him put a fear into her that she could bearly comprehend, and when her fear finally overtook her, her body reacted without her mind, and she ran... Running away from the scene as fast as she could, her body seemed to have a mind of its own, pushing her muscles to the brink of exhaustion as she ran the fastest she had ever run in her life. She could barely see where she was running, her eyes full of tears as her lungs gasped for breath. Each step further and further would throw her entire body into disarray as her crying gasps wouldn't let her take enough breath. Soon she felt herself weaken, as everything started to fade around her, until finally her body could no longer keep up. Falling slowly to the snow, her eyes shut slowly as her mind continued to replay everything that she had seen, assaulting her heart and soul as she tried to scream and cried, but just as before her voice wouldn't sound, her breath wouldn't keep, and then....

Lelyna's smile was reassuring and the Fox's eyes would drift down towards her hands as the Diviner took them and explained all she had to do - she watched the female's thumbs as they gently massaged the top of her hands, then lifted her gaze again, noting that Lelyna had closed her eyes, feeling it only best to perhaps do the same?

It was interesting to hear about the Library of her Mind, she had always loved books and so think that her own thoughts were categorised as such fascinated the Fennec Child, still, time would progress and before she knew it, Jesse could see the Diviner as she started her journey, traversing the neatly arranged aisles decorated by wild vines and fauna, glancing past memories she'd thought she'd forgotten before locating a place that seemed...notably out of character...

She watched as Lelyna seemed to focus on one particular book in this darkened recess - it certainly didn't seem to be a happy one as it had concealed itself as far back on the shelf as it could - perhaps trying to hide from them...? Still, the Diviner persisted, prying it loose before attempting to 'unlock' the disheveled tome... Jesse would watch from...wherever she was, maybe her head tilted? She was unsure, but the moment the pages drew apart, she felt herself 'Teleported' to a new realm...one she had been more than a little afraid to revisit...

In reality, the little Fox's ears would flick backwards the moment she recognised the snowy surroundings of her 'Nightmare' and she would subconsciously take the edge of her lip in her teeth - not biting per se, but definitely gnawing at the first layer of skin as she practically skipped her way towards that most undesirable of destinies... Almost like a play reenacted in her mind through moving pictures - of which they appeared to observe from afar - Jesse would watch as her once carefree self reveled in her freedom, humming and perhaps even singing to herself as she made an eager, yet relaxed approach towards their meeting place - even the cold didn't seem to bother her at this point, for she was going to meet her...her...

That scream... The Fox froze - both inside and outside of the pair's linked state, her body would tense and her teeth perhaps bit a little harder, yet not enough yet to draw blood from her lip - It suddenly felt as though the entire world had fallen into silence...there was no birdsong, even the soft hush of the snow falling around her failed to register as she slowly began to inch towards the sound's origin...

Suddenly as the winds kicked up into a gale, Jesse's ears would flatten hard against her head - her closed eyes scrunching up to reflect that her subconscious gaze now narrowed to slits as the snow billowed about her... She knew that was coming and as the little Fox started towards the scene, Jesse almost wanted to cry out and stop her...

There he was, Nanashi... With the winds so strong, there was still no telling whom he was fighting, but it was clear something had happened prior to her arrival to render him so livid... She watched helplessly as he lunged towards his opponent with everything he had, tears falling both within and outside Lelyna's 'link' as she saw the male stop mid-flight before struggling against an unseen force that now held him aloft above the snow...

As his body started to fail him, Jesse would note how the gale seemed to ebb, the dimmed light at the far end of the clearing now becoming more visible as the snow returned to its natural flow... Her eyes settled upon the sight, revealing something that no innocent's gaze should ever witness... Finally, in reality, her teeth broke through the skin of her lip, making it bleed, but as her subconscious sight drew from the flaming corpse, her vision took in a new horror...the revealed features of her boyfriend's true killer...

Before the Elementor's inevitable end, Jesse's ears would flick forward in both realities - picking up on a sentence she had never heard before - "...your death was nothing personal... You were simply in the wrong place, at the wrong time..." The following, gurgling scream almost broke her heart twice-over and with a yelp, the little Fox shut her eyes tight, trying her hardest to pull her hands away from Lelyna's as in her subconscious, her memory-self turned and ran for its life - pushing her little body to the extremes as it tried to put as much distance as it could from the scene...

As the vision finally drew to its close, the Fennec Child would wrench her hands from the Diviner's and twist away, falling from the chair she had been seated upon before falling to the ground in a heap... Her arms barely cushioning her forward descent as they now curled round and hid her face as she started to wail...

From the moment Lelyna had arrived Rin remained silent and had parted from her friend to let the Diviner try to help her with the memory. She was already feeling really on edge as she'd watch the girl and Jesse hold hands and remain silent and still... She wanted to know what was happening. But in truth waiting was the only thing the Husky could do for the time being. Rin shuffled about on her seat and stared in the pairs direction the entire time, unable to look away for even a second, but also struggling to just remain still. If only Rin could be of use right this moment for one of the few people she deeply cared about...

Rin was almost reaching to her friend at the sight of fear growing more and more on her face. "W-what's going on..." She looked to Gannon for some kind of guidance, then back to the two girls beside her. This back and forth repeatedly for only a little longer before out of nowhere Jesse and parted from Lelyna and dropped from the chair to the floor. Rin was now completely panicked. "Jesse?!" Her voice full of pure dread as there she was, seeing her close friend suddenly curled on the floor in tears. Not a second passed before Catherine dropped down next to the Fennec girl and held her shoulder. "Jesse! W-wha..." Pausing, Rin immediately turned to Lelyna. "W-what happened?! What did you do??" Rin could not help the tone she had now, seeming to accuse the girl of doing something to Jesse. Even though the Shifter knew this girl would have no reason to harm her friend it was hard not to without knowing what they had seen... Rins ears had dropped and her expression was distraught while she'd stare down to the wailing girl beside her, trying to shake her out of it out of desperation. She was dreading the possiblility that the Jesse she knew was disappearing...

Gannon had some mixed feelings about all of this. He hoped that Lelyna wouldn’t find anything, that all of this was just some bad dream, a figment of Jesse’s unconscious and subconscious minds – her way of trying to deal with the disappearance of a loved one. But deep down, Gannon suspected that this wasn’t the case. He’d seen these types of nightmares and reactions before, from soldiers who’d experienced war. It was a way for the mind try to cope with something that the person had seen or experienced; something that they just couldn’t handle. Bracing himself, he watched as Lelyna silently activated her raiment and went on her journey. Hands clasped in front of him, he prayed that nothing came of this…

It took no more than eight minutes. Five minutes to create the link between them and three minutes - three precious and agonizing minutes - for Lelyna to locate and extract what Jesse’s mind had been so desperate to hide. In that time, Gannon could see the changing expression on both girl’s faces. Seeing their looks of horror, their tears, he knew – Jesse had witnessed something horrible. As Rin looked to him for answers, he swallowed hard and shook his head. β€œI believe she’s found the memory…”

Lelyna’s whole world, like Jesse’s was shattering around her. With each second the memory became worse and worse. The screams of anguish and agony, the sight of the burning, contorted body…the sight of her mentor – a man she wholey respected and trusted, crushing the very life out of Nanashi like he was just a pest to be dealt with. He words…his emotionless, heartless words, cut into her soul and left her raw and gutted.

Tears streamed down her face, unstoppable. As Jesse ripped herself away, Lelyna took a deep, gasping breath, her eyes going wide for a moment, her mouth agape as she tried to fathom what she’d just seen. Rin’s accusing words and tone did nothing to shake her from the anguish she was feeling…Rhysian had killed Nanashi…and likely Azura as well…

The moment Jesse ripped herself away from Lelyna and collapsed to the floor, Gannon quickly moved out of his chair and ran around his desk to come and kneel at her side. β€œJesse!” Trying his best to check her over, he had to contend with Rin, who was also anxious and worried for her friend. The poor girls shoulder shook as she wailed in pain, her tears evident. β€œJesse…” He whispered, doing his best to sooth her, his hand gently caressing her hair.

In all the commotion, the confusion, Gannon wasn’t keeping an eye on the one person who could give him answers. No, he was too focused on Jesse…So when Lelyna stood up and ran from her seat, bolting for the door, Gannon was too late to stop her. β€œLelyna!” Even as he moved to get up to follow her, he knew that he was too late. Wrenching the door open, he looked down the halls and only saw her retreating form as she bolted down the hallway.

"Rin, Brageet, look after Jesse! I'll be right back!" He commanded, only to bolt from the room and run down the hall after Lelyna. Going as fast as he could, he prayed that she wasnt about to do something reckless...

How could he have done something so horrible? His name escaped her in that particular moment, but he had been a man who Everyone looked up to! Someone who, as a Court Mage was recognised throughout the Academy and most likely Eoana itself and...someone who, although she hadn't seen him much following his inauguration, would have treated him as though he were a mentor to be respected and admired...

She wasn't sure how the others felt around her, it was clear that everyone was upset, but at the very sight of that which she had feared seeing again - re-witnessing in Full Detail this time, a dream which was clearly no longer just that... Jesse had recoiled so swiftly that the initial shouts of her name being shouted in great concern had gone unheard amongst her wails... There was a rush of air as both Gannon and Rin hurried to her aid, then another as the Diviner darted off in pursuit of the female who had taken time out of what could have been a wonderful, free day for her, to try and help get to the bottom of what was clearly so much more than Anyone could ever have expected...

Feeling someone's hand still present upon her shoulder, the little Fox pushed herself back into a half-sitting position, blinking once before reaching out - with both arms - for whom she was relieved to discover was her very best of friends...

Jesse had no idea how much time had passed between the beginning of their session and Lelyna's unexpected exit, but as her sobbing started to subside and she found herself too tired and empty to cry anymore, senses numbed by her anguish would begin to return and the Fennec Child would withdraw her arms from where they had hopefully not squeezed the life out of Rin, before her large ears began to swivel and twitch as though picking up on something barely audible from somewhere distant outside...

"...Rin." With no idea what it could be, the Fox would turn her attention towards her concerned friend... Jesse knew the Shifter was very protective of those close to her, but having been wailing at the time, the Fennec Child couldn't be certain if her friend had said anything to Lelyna, perhaps she could seek out the female again and thank her for everything she'd done to help...? "...It was all real..." her ears would droop at the realisation that what she'd seen had been the truth... "Can...can we...maybe light a candle for him tonight?" It sounded so strange, to go from bawling her eyes out to wanting to light a candle for him, but this was just how the little Shifter was - their search for one such object would have to wait however as her thoughts would now turn towards those who had left the room... "I do hope Lelyna is alright...I didn't upset her...did I?" She looked to the girl hoping for some reassurance, but knew she was quite likely to blame for the Diviner's quick exit...

Jei's day had been one of relaxation around his new home, aiding Gannon with the graduation preparation as he went over papers and whatnot for his boyfriend. The poor man had so much on his plate and he wanted to do as much as he possibly could to aid his partner so he wouldn't be so stressed. After awhile, staring at the written words were beginning to make his eyes ache so he wrapped up his duty, gathering the papers and sticking them neatly into an envelope. He had to drop them off and it wouldn't hurt to check in on his lover. Moopsie seemed grumpy that she had to leave her warm bed but trotted alongside Jei nonetheless.

He thought he heard voices coming from the door as he approached, briefly wondering if he should wait until they were all finished. Just as the thought entered his mind, Gannon's office door burst open and a female student ran down the hall followed soon enough by his lover yelling for his owl and another to watch over Jesse. Sensing that there must have been some sort of emergency, Jei's protective instinct kicked into gear and he immediately entered the office with Moopsie close at his heels.

"Ah...Jesse...Rin." The professor's voice softened when he saw the looks that the girls wore. He set his envelope on Gannon's desk and steadily felt concern as his gaze switched between the students. Of course he would remember who the two were -- he had been helping teach the shifter class for quite some time. "...Are you two alright? I'm sorry for interrupting at such a time -- I just saw Gannon running after another student."

They certainly didn't look alright. Jei reached into his pocket and procured a chocolate bar, breaking off a a few pieces and handing them to the shifter students. "Here...eat this. It will help the nerves." His voice was soft and kind as he felt morbid curiosity rise within him. What happened?

The Husky girl was speechless as the girl, Lelyna, had suddenly rushed out of the Office... Followed by the Court Mage. He'd paused his pursuit only just long enough to till her and the bird to watch Jesse, a request he didn't even need to consider saying... Catherine was not moving from her spot until her friend was dealt with. The next few seconds felt longer than usual during the silent, save for the Fennec girls cries which Rin was unsure of how to help with. All of a sudden Jesse seemed to acknowledge the world around her again and Rin was caught off guard when her friend had clung to her once again. The action alone almost cause Rin to cry openly, almost. She tried her hardest to restrain herself for her friends sake and remained silent until the girl felt composed enough to speak again.

That moment did not seem to take too longer either when Jesse soon pulled away and stated sadly that the things she saw... Were most certainly real. Rin could have almost gone pale at knowing her friend at point blank witnessed the death of somebody she loved. "Oh, gods... Jesse..." Her voice hushed, Rin felt her own tears well up now and took a second to wipe her eyes all while her roommate asked to light a candle... As well as asking about Lelyna. Rins response after a low sigh remained quiet. "N-no... You didn't. And... Yes. Of course we can, Jesse..." It wasn't the most normal thing in Rins mind but now was not the time to care about that.

Her ears flicked in response to the sound of a male voice and Catherines initial reaction was to grow protective, wrapping her around around her friend and leaning just in front of her as if sheltering Jesse. Though turned out the voice belonged to a Professor. One she had seen a few times from classes. "...Professor Chiba..." Her red gaze stared at him, she remained a little cautious. A little more so upon the man handing a piece of chocolate. Though Rin would not stop her friend if she'd accept the offer, the Husky girl personally was not so quickly accepting, especially while a friend was in such a horrible state.

It had been reassuring to hear from Rin that Lelyna's exit hadn't necessarily been her doing - the Little Shifter still felt bad for putting the Diviner through that horrible dreamscape just to find out the truth...Something now wished she'd never sought...but at least it would bring an end to those horrible nightmares...at least she hoped it would...

Hearing the Husky was happy to let her light a candle for Nanashi when they next had the chance made her feel just that teeny bit better - it was only a little ritual that her Father had taught her when she was young and missing her mother, but it at least helped her to feel as though she was letting the male know she was thinking of him... "...thank you..."

Jesse's large ears would swivel towards the Professor as he entered the room, he, like many others would enquire as to what had happened those moments before, but the Fox just didn't have the energy to tell him...Instead, as Rin wrapped a protective arm around her friend, Jesse would lean into the half-embrace, her blue eyes taking in the sight of the Professor's offering of chocolate before a polite shake of the head declined and set the gift that had been handed to her on the desk for later...

"Gannon...and Lelyna, were helping me with my nightmares..." It wouldn't be fair to leave the poor man hanging - seeing as though he'd asked, but she really didn't want to say anything more and just dropped her gaze, not wanting to start crying again...

Gannon sprinted back toward his office, arms pumping hard, feet beating against the stones, breaths panting as he drew closer and closer. He needed to know what had happened in that memory! Given Lelyna’s reaction as well as Rhysian’s he suspected he already knew, but he needed to know for sure. Gannon couldn’t have been gone more than five minutes, ten at the very most, but he knew that a lot could happen in that time.

Racing back to his office, he skid to a halt just outside the door, catching his breath only for a brief moment he looked inside, surprised to see Jei kneeling beside Rin and Jesse. Placing his hand on his chest, Gannon stepped inside his office and went straight to Jesse’s side. As gently as he could, he grasped her shoulder. β€œJesse. Please, listen to me carefully. I need to know what you saw in that memory. It is of the utmost importance…If my suspicions are correct, Lelyna’s life may be at stake.” He knew that that would be terrifying for her to hear, but it was the truth. If Rhysian was the villain in all of this – Gods forbid – then Lelyna was in the arms of the one man she shouldn’t be.

β€œPlease, Jesse…I know this is hard, but I need to know.” Gannon only prayed that he was wrong. Rhysian was supposed to help the students, if he had done anything to endanger them…

The Husky remained focused on the Professor in front of the two Shifters while keeping herself slightly between him and Jesse but not directly intervening with their interaction. Even if Rin did not necessarily have to behave like this... After everything her friend had been through she just wanted to show Jesse she could rely on her. Listening quietly with a wary gaze set on the man in front of the door, Rins ears dropped again once Jesse had told Jei they were here about her nightmares and she would look toward the Fennec girl, noticing her looking down. Without a word Catherine hugged her friend who seemed about ready to cry again, it was horrible to see... And she wished she could help stop it, even if at least for a moment.

It wasn't long before the sound of more footsteps approaching caught her attention and Rin look back in the Professors direction but past him to get a view of whoever was nearing. It was Gannon. But he looked like he had rushed is way over and appeared far more alert then before. Noticing him approaching them Rin would part from her friend but keep a hold of her hand and watched as the Court Mage started to ask about the memory... Though gentle, Rin could tell he was desperate for an answer. And then he'd mentioned the girl from earlier could be in danger. "H-her life..?" The husky stammered without even a delay, her thought not even taking a moment to stay in her head. "What happened??" Her eyes went wide and she had a look of dread on her face now. Though Rin barely knew that girl... After everything that happened the last thing she'd wanted was to find out more people were getting hurt. Catherines focus was set on Jesse now, part of her now wanting to know what she had seen...
