╔═══════════════════ Elijah was just exiting his bath when he heard Ezra’s voice echoing through the house. Smiling wide, Elijah quickly wrapped himself in a fluffy robe and toweled his hair dry. Heading straight for the kitchen, he smiled as he walked into the doorway and saw Ezra putting a few things away. Had he stopped at the market on the way home? Stepping into the kitchen, Elijah knew that Ezra sensed his presence as he came up behind him to wrap his arms around Ezra’s waist and rest his chin on his shoulder.
“Welcome home, love…” He whispered, lightly kissing Ezra’s neck, lovingly with a smile. “I missed you…” He honestly hadn’t expected Ezra to be home so soon, but he was happy none-the-less. “I was going to make us some tea after my bath, but you came back sooner than I thought.” He said with a smile, hugging Ezra close.
“Now…tea and biscuits are in order…after that…what shall we do with the rest of our day?” Elijah purred teasingly, he knew full well what they would be doing, but he liked to tease anyway. He was so deliriously happy, that he just couldn’t help it. Elijah and Ezra hadn’t talked about the big steps – moving in together or marriage or any of that, but Elijah had certainly been thinking about it. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with Ezra…
“What to do…what to do…” Humming lightly, he nuzzled Ezra's neck and sighed happily, completely content with just cuddling Ezra for the rest of the day. Elijah loved the closeness and the intimacy shared between them. He loved being near Ezra even more than he loved his books, which was really saying something....With any luck, he and Ezra would spend the rest of their lives together...But only time would tell.

╔═══════════════════ [ - Enter Elijah for New RP Day - ]
Shortly after the graduation ceremony had concluded, Elijah and Ezra made a stealthy exit. While they were both very proud of the graduates and wished them well, Elijah was insistent that they not linger too long. He knew full well that Ezra was far more affected by the crowd than he let on and, not wanting his love to become too affected, Elijah had led Ezra away from the festivities and back toward the housing district.
Some people might think that he and Ezra were becoming something akin to hermits, but Elijah didn’t care. Everyone had always considered him ‘odd’ so this was nothing different. Elijah liked a little bit of solitude…especially if it meant that he had Ezra all to himself. His lover was perfect. They both loved the written word, good tea, delicious food…Each of them could spend hours reading or listening to music without saying a word and still enjoy one another’s company just by being in the same room.
In all honesty, Elijah had been working with a local jeweler on a very special piece. While he wanted to wait, now that he and Ezra were living together and talking about expanding on the house, Elijah found himself thinking more and more about marriage. He wanted to marry Ezra – he wanted to be his husband. All he needed now was the right time, and the perfect ring…
- * -
Cuddled close to his love, Elijah slept soundly and deeply. The couple had spent the evening enjoying a hot bath, some good books and one another. Over all, it had been the perfect day and the perfect evening. Now, nestled in Ezra’s arms, Elijah was perfectly content with just sleeping the entire day away.

╔═══════════════════ [ - Begin Interaction for New RP Day - ]
After leaving the library with Ven the day before, Eli and his best friend had headed to a tavern to talk and have a late meal. That late meal turned into drinks and then more drinks that had eventually left Elijah a bit…drunk. Elijah didn’t remember coming home, or the interaction he and Ven had had with Ezra upon arriving home, but Elijah remembered breaking down in tears – not his proudest moment to say the least – and then being taken upstairs for a bath and then bed.
Now, as the sun peeked through the curtains and landed on his face, he groaned deeply, rolling over onto his side only to feel his head spin and a sharp pain strike the center of his forehead. Moaning like the sick dog he was currently impersonating, Elijah hung over the edge of the bed, his long hair slipping over his shoulder to pool on the floor below his face. “Mmmm…I’m never drinking again…” He mumbled, his eyes only cracked open slightly as he tried to stop the room from spinning around in circles.
Off in the distance, Elijah heard the sounds of hammers and saws. His sensitive situation made the sound seem ten times worse than it was, which only made him groan more. Moving back into the center of the bed, he buried his head under the pillows and stayed there until the pounding in his head stopped. It was only after that that he realized that Ezra wasn’t in the bed with him. Suddenly feeling like the biggest a** in the world, he got bits and pieces of the night before and his drunken behavior upon returning home.
“Oh Gods…Ez is probably so mad at me…” Elijah pouted. He knew he had no reason to pout about the situation, but he couldn’t help it - he hated when Ezra was upset with him. Knowing that he needed to get out of bed and get cleaned up, even if it was the last thing that he wanted to do, he forced himself to get upright. Shuffling into the bathroom, Eli splashed his face with cold water, brushed out his hair, shaved his face, brushed his teeth and then moved to get dressed. Once he looked like an actual human being again, he made his way downstairs to face the music.

╔═══════════════════ The moment Elijah entered the kitchen he knew he’d messed up – big time. Ezra didn’t turn to say anything to him, he merely motioned to the cup of coffee, the glass of water and the medicine that had been placed on the counter. Silent, Ezra went about his task, his back turned toward Elijah.
Feeling like a lost puppy, Elijah approached the counter slowly, a small pout to his lips, his shoulders slumped. Without a second thought he mixed the medicine into the water and drank the contents. Despite the taste, he didn’t grimace or complain – he hated medicine – because Ezra had been thoughtful enough to leave it out for him. Setting the glass back on the counter, Elijah looked to Ezra again.
He knew that Ez was upset with him…they hadn’t fought, not since the falling out from so long ago, but Eli knew that he’d hurt Ez in some way. Whether it was his drunken behavior or the fact that he hadn’t told Ezra what was bothering him, remained to be seen…Regardless, Ezra deserved an apology. Without a word, Eli moved to stand behind Ezra. Wrapping his arms around his lover’s waist, he leaned in a little and rested his cheek against Ezra’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry, Ez…I’ve been an awful brute these last few days…” Eli said with a sigh, closing his eyes to savor the warmth Ezra gave off and his lovely scent. “A lot…a lot has happened…Things that I need to tell you.” If Ven’s reaction was any indication, Ezra wouldn’t take this news very well…and truth be told, Eli didn’t really know how to tell him. They were happy, they were building a life together, but were they safe here? It was a question he didn’t want to answer… ═══════════════════╝

╔═══════════════════ Elijah felt even worse hearing Ezra’s words. His love was right – Eli would have been worried sick if he’d had any indication that Ezra was upset about something and not sharing what it was…So it was only logical that Ezra would be worried too. Nuzzling Ezra’s shoulder a little, he didn’t say anything as Ezra put the omelet on the plate.
As Ezra shifted, Eli had one panicked second where he thought Ezra was brushing him off, but when his lover turned to face him, he felt his panic begin to ebb away. Hearing that Ez accepted his apology meant the world to Eli. Leaning into his lover’s touch, he sighed a little. “Thank you…I…I just didn’t know how to tell you what happened…and being lost in my own thoughts, I didn’t realize that you would worry so much about me. That was idiotic of me…” Tilting his head, he kissed Ezra’s palm lovingly.
Frowning lightly at Ezra’s suggestion, he shook his head a little. “I think it would be best if I told you after breakfast…and after you’ve had a chance to digest a little.” Elijah knew full well that if they tried to eat and talk about what had happened that they’d both lose their appetites real quick. Leaning in, he kissed Ezra’s lips lovingly before resting his forehead against his lover’s. “I promise I will tell you everything, my love…don’t worry…”
And Elijah kept his word. After sharing their meal and tea, the couple adjourned to one of the reading rooms, taking a seat upon the plush couch. Grasping Ezra’s hands, the entire time, Elijah recounted how he’d been summoned to the infirmary to educate Vivian and Merek on the fae. He told Ezra about Silme and her journey home, and the journey back with the wounded Argos. As he recanted what he had seen, the way Merek and Vivian hadn’t been able to heal the poor fae, how Kayl had rushed Lelyna to the Academy…he grasped Ezra’s hands, dreading revealing what he was going to tell him.
Elijah braced himself as he retold Argos’s tale and all that he’d experienced - the attack on the fae village. By the end, Elijah’s grip on Ezra’s hands was so tight he feared ever letting go. Head hung, he swallowed past the lump in his throat. “I…I don’t know what to do about this, Ez…this man, this demon, is…he’s a monster.” They both knew that this one man would threaten the peace and prosperity of Eoana – there was no other explanation for his presence.
“I’m afraid, Ezra…I can’t lose you…” This was Elijah’s truest fear. That this man and his presence would threaten his love. Looking up at his lover, he had tears falling down his face. Elijah was truly at a loss as to what to do...

╔═══════════════════ Elijah nodded a little bit, in complete agreement. He didn’t want another incident like what had happened at the fae village to occur again either. So, they’d need to work toward finding a way to figure out who this man was and what he wanted with Eoana. But, for today, Ezra was right, he needed to relax and try to get his mind off of what had happened.
Moving in close, Eli rested his cheek upon Ezra’s shoulder. Closing his eyes, he released a sigh and continued to grip Ezra’s hand in his own. “I’m sorry that I kept this from you, Ez…I just…I didn’t want to burden you with it, but I needed to tell someone…So thank you, for being so loving and supportive.” Elijah needed to realize that he and Ezra were a team now and as such, they needed to share everything with each other, both good and bad.
Looking up at Ezra, Eli smiled a little and leaned in to place a loving kiss on his lips. “Why don’t you show me the progress with the renovation?” With all of the excitement the last few days, Elijah hadn’t seen what Ezra had been up to with overseeing the addition to the house. He was curious to see what the builders were able to get done and hoped that the addition would be finished by the start of the new school year so Ezra wouldn’t have to worry about it while attending to his class.
Once Ezra was ready, the couple left the sitting area and headed through the house hand in hand. Elijah knew that the best way for him to help prevent another incident was to find all the information he could on what the man had done…which meant scouring all the books he could get his hands on – luckily for him, he had a wealth of knowledge at his fingertips…

╔═══════════════════ For once, Elijah had gotten up before Ezra. Granted, Ezra wasn’t feeling well, so that likely contributed to his sleeping in when he would normally be up bright and early, but in any case, Elijah was determined to pamper his love for once. Thus, Elijah had slipped from their bed and headed down to the kitchen to get to work. Wearing a comfortable pair of pants and his slippers, he stood in the kitchen cooking, his extensive tattoos on full display for Ezra when he walked in.
Elijah heard Ezra’s slow footsteps as he came into the kitchen. Soon enough, he felt Ezra drape himself over his shoulders. Smiling, he glanced at him as he flipped a pancake. ”Good morning…How’s your head?” Ezra’s migraines were not a good sign and he wanted to do everything that he could to alleviate some of the pain. That included drawing a lot of the curtains in the house to prevent a lot of the morning light from getting in.
“I thought we could take it easy today, since you haven’t been feeling well. After breakfast, I’m going to draw you a hot bubble bath and then we’ll adjourn to the library and I can read to you while you relax…and then I’ll cook dinner and then we’ll head to bed, where I’ll give you a nice long massage.” Elijah was very proud of his itinerary. He knew that Ezra would enjoy the pampering and his love deserved every moment. Ezra worked very hard and he needed to relax…
”Have a seat my love, let me pamper you today…” Elijah said, kissing Ezra’s cheek lovingly. “Breakfast will be ready in just a few moments.” Elijah was true to his word – once breakfast was served he checked of each and every activity on his list. By the end of the day, he was happily kneading out the knots in Ezra’s back as he laid face down on the bed, a puddle of relaxation. “Feel better, love?” He asked, leaning in to kiss Ez’s shoulder lovingly. All Elijah wanted was for Ezra to be happy…

╔═══════════════════ Festivals were not something that Elijah and Ezra participated in, at least not willingly. One the one hand, Elijah didn’t like crowded places, and on the other, Ezra couldn’t stand crowds due to his raiment. They were perfectly match, truth be told…Thus, the two had opted for a quiet afternoon at home. After a lovely breakfast, made by his beloved, the two had adjourned to their new addition, the library, for some tea and reading. With Hamlet snuggled in Ezra’s lap, Elijah rested his cheek against Ezra’s shoulder, comfortable and happy. “I love spending these quiet afternoons together…” Elijah said with a happy sigh, shutting his book and placing a kiss on Ezra’s cheek.
“I’m going to go make us some more tea…can I get you anything else, darling…?” He asked as he arose from their couch and stretched a little. Lightly caressing his loves cheek, he nodded at any request Ezra had before heading from the library into the main household. As he stood in the kitchen, preparing the water to boil for the tea, the first explosions could be heard. Confused by the sound, brows furrowed, Elijah headed for the front windows. Peering out, he noticed black smoke rising into the sky. Confused, he had to wonder if there was an accident, but then other explosions began to rock the city…and then there was an explosion just down the street.
Heart racing, eyes wide, he could only stand in shock and fear as he watched the scene unfold. There were men in the streets, cutting down anyone who stood in their way. Feeling his anxiety begin to build, slowly backing away from the windows, he shook his head. “No, no, no…” That was all he could say, over and over and over…

╔═══════════════════ Already in a state of semi-panic, Elijah didn’t object when Elijah took his hand and led him from the living area of their home and back toward the study. Clinging to Ezra’s arm, his eyes wide with shock at what he’d seen through the window, he hardly noticed as the bookcase shifting to reveal a hidden room. Normally, Elijah would have been utterly fascinated by such a thing, but in his current state, he could hardly comprehend the action.
Following Ezra down the set of hidden stairs, they took their time on the steps, the passage dark as they descended and even darker once the hidden bookcase slid back into place. Elijah was reluctant to let Ezra go as he moved around the secret room, lighting candles to light the area, but he was hardly in a state to help. Shock; weakness, dizziness, rapid breathing, enlarged pupils, nausea. He had it all…All it had taken was seeing those monsters cutting down their neighbors, literally.
Sitting in one of the chairs around the room, Elijah leaned forward, his arms curling around his knees as he tried to calm his rapidly beating heart and his churning stomach. “Ezra…” He whimpered, getting teary eyed as he thought of those men invading their house and finding them here. Out of the two of them, Ezra was stronger – clearly, given the fact that he’d kept a level head and was taking charge. Here, in the little room, Elijah felt a bit safer. No one could find them here, right? Rocking forward and back a bit, he hid his face against his knees, his hair falling around him like a curtain as he tried desperately to calm down.
