Lelyna beamed hearing Rhysian’s agreement to become her mentor. She was so pleased to know that he would take time out of his busy schedule to help her further her studies. Positively gushing with excitement and gratitude she looked from him to Ishitari and back. There was so much she wanted to say but she understood that now wasn’t the time.

Nodding at his proposal to speak the following day, she followed his guidance to the empty section of his office. “Thank you ever so much, Professor. I’ll see you tomorrow.” While Lelyna had expected to walk to class, it seemed that Rhysian had other ideas. Seeing the mist beginning to form around her, she was alarmed for a moment, but realized that it was the same mist-like substance she’d seen when he’d entered the classroom the day before. Before she knew it, the room was obstructed from her view. In the next moment, she stood in the center of the Observatory, the mist dissipating slowly around her…what a way to travel!

She must have interrupted something pretty important, as directly afterwards Rhysian would ask her to wait which she did. Entef would cast his gaze on Lelyna as the professor spoke about something or other with her and then used whatever power he had. He spoke in some language and in an instant Lelyna was gone. Ishitari was getting interested in this position of his. From what she had seen he could either teleport people somewhere or keep them in some sort of dimension similar to what he had done with Entef. There was a lot that was unknown, and at best these were just guesses. With the empty spot the man motioned for her to sit down. The bahtavan youth obliged and sat where the cute black haired girl had once done. Hopefully she wasn't somewhere bad. Lelyna just looked vulnerable was all. Nope. It had nothing to do with those eyes of hers. Not at all.

The floor was hers to speak and Ishitari let out a long exhale. "I came because..." she began but stopped. Too stereotypical. It needed to be genuine. Something that Rhysian would know that she meant it. Time to wing it. "We got off on the wrong foot, as they say here. I am sorry for Entef's distractions in class the other day." The culprit bird would look at Rhysian and c**k his head, continuing to laze about on his owner's hand while she would begin to stroke him. Just a normal thing she did when anxious.

"All my life, I have been fighting and fighting. A constant struggle just for the ability to wake up the next day. I don't take authority well and never have." A part of her wanted to smirk. She never really did have much of a side of her to follow orders back home. Thankfully her expression was still very indecisive and Ishitari was somewhat glad for it. "I came here to start again. To be better than I once was." Her throat felt warm and tight, struggling to even swallow now.

"When you took Entef away, I just... remembered having nothing. Being powerless to fight whatever fate had in store for me. I came to the academy with nothing but Entef. He's all I have in this world." Ishitari looked at the ground as her fingers stopped showing affection to her bird and then crossed her hands. "I came to the academy to learn and yesterday, my display was uncalled for and not something I wish to be held against me." There was a lengthy silence as she slowly willed her head to look up at Rhysian.

"I'm not good at apologizing so...Please forgive me for yesterday. I want to learn more about my raiment and you seem like the one person that can help."

                                                                                  OOC NOTES [x]

Listening to her words carefully, Rhysian's eyes narrowed slightly as he leaned back in his seat. At first, it was a simple set of words describing her wish to give a proper impression. But as she continued to speak, Rhysian started to take note of little hints that gave further insight into her past, and soon a realization had come that she had not listed in her transcripts. "Hmmm, I see," He said while leaning forward and looking her in the eye. "Perhaps 'spoiled brat' was a bit misjudged, but I am honestly surprised that you are even alive to stand before me if you truly had such a demeanor back home..."

His words might have seemed odd to anyone else, but if she understood their deeper meaning, then she would know that her very past was at least for him, no longer hidden. He didn't blatantly spell it out, or speak of it, knowing it was likely a very sensitive subject for her. After all, living a life like the one she seemed to have survived, was truly no way to live. One of the many reasons why Bahtavan was on his list. Shaking his head for a moment, he leaned back as he brought his hands together, his fingers interlacing as he spoke, "Ms. Ishitari, I do not hold grudges, if you are truly here to learn, then I will teach you. You are feisty, willful even, both qualities that will only help you overcome the many obstacles this life will through at you, but it would be wise to learn to give respect were respect is due. In most parts of the world, especially here, it is the simplest and most direct way to gain said respect in return."

Rhysian gave her a moment to reflect on his words, it was likely something she had wanted and perhaps even fought for all her life, but living the life that she had in the past, it probably was not something she ever truly considered. Now he was giving her the chance to understand that here, she could be equals. Here the students, the staff, everyone would accept her. "What's done is done, if you come to class eager and prepared to learn, then there won't be anything to forgive," he said with a smile before standing and stepping around his desk once more, escorting her to the door freely. "Now if you please, I have much work to get done, unless there is anything else?"

The two seemed to be at an impasse, with Rhysian sitting silently as she finished spilling her guts out to him. Her gaze had drifted from him and back towards the floor at which both of them had shared during the course of the discussion. Ishitari would only raise it at the man's declaration. "...I am honestly surprised that you are even alive to stand before me if you truly had such a demeanor back home..."

Her eyes widened. Heart racing. Did he know? Or was it just some coincidence that he assumed her people were like that. Her back would begin to ache just thinking of the memories. She began to rub her wrists out of habit. It was almost as if the chains that had bound her had returned in full force just like her nightmares. At the very least, Rhysian appeared to be all for putting the events of yesterday behind them. Entef appeared to have felt her distress and went to pick at her hair some. It helped bring her back into reality and focus on his words.

"What's done is done, if you come to class eager and prepared to learn, then there won't be anything to forgive."

"Thank you, Professor." Ishitari returned the smile with one of her own. At least it was an attempt. She honestly felt as if she had forgotten how with all of her perilous travels. She stood up and allowed the door to be opened for her before turning back to him with a confident smirk. "I'll be the star pupil of your class, I can promise you. I...won't waste this opportunity fate has given me." The girl then began her walk out of the office, offering a wave to him as she went on her way to class. Her thoughts began to focus on what Rhysian knew. Could he have found out about her past by some other means? She didn't outright say or imply it back there. The girl let out a troubled sigh and went on her way to whatever class was present.

                                                                                  [EXIT]

    [ - Begin Interaction for RP Day - ]

“Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me, Professor…I know how precious your time is as a Court Mage. I’m sure you have much more important things to be doing than meeting with me today.” Lelyna said as she fidgeted in her seat a little bit. Hands clasped in her lap, she looked down at them for a moment as she gathered her thoughts.

Looking back up at Rhysian, she spoke. “I just…I wanted to thank you for everything that you’ve done for me. You saved my life. I know that for certain. I don’t know how you did it, but you were able to find me in the labyrinth of my memories. Through all the libraries and endless doors you found me and brought me back, That alone puts me heavily in your debt.” Lelyna said clearly, happy to have finally said the words. “And then…you gave me my sight back.” She said in a soft whisper, looking him in the eye as she said it, driving the point home.

As Lelyna held his intense gaze, she found herself getting a bit teary-eyed. She couldn’t fathom why he had done all these things for her, why he’d cared so much. She’d been warned by her brother to be wary and cautious of Rhysian – he was a De’Valaer after all and for all she knew the moment he found out who she truly was, he’d want her dead. But…despite the danger, she felt drawn to him. She wanted to know him, to learn from him. Yes, she was risking her life, but technically, she owned him her life. So why not risk it?

“I know that you don’t owe me an answer as to why you did these things, Professor but I hope that you will tell me…” Rhysian was the only one that had the answers she so desperately sought and she hoped that he would at least tell her something to shed some light on the questions that persisted in her mind.

Rhysian just as soon waved off Lelyna's words as she had spoken them as he stepped around his desk. After leading her to her seat and helping her like the gentleman he was, he listened to her words and felt more then ever the gentleness and kindness in her heart. A warmth he had not felt in a very long time. "Please, do not worry over such things, as your mentor, my time with you is equally as valuable as any other," He would say while seating in his chair and leaning back lightly as he got comfortable. He was about to ask her a question of his own, however she cut in and started to thank him for everything he had done for her, laying it on a bit thick. She was very determined to let these feelings off of her chest, and it was that sheer determination that kept Rhysian at bay, allowing her to fully unveil what was in her heart. For a brief moment, even Rhysian went silent as he contemplated what to say next, and then came the question that seemed to be burning in the core of her soul. Why?

Of course Rhysian knew this would come eventually, although he hadn't thought it would be so soon. With all that Rhysian could do, and all that he had done for her, there wasn't any real rhyme or reason for any of it, other then 'out of the kindness of his own heart'. But Rhysian could tell right away, that she wasn't convinced by such a thought. No, even those with good intentions had reason for their actions, and it seemed she had already started to sense a connection. Rhysian had to wonder, what she was thinking, what she was feeling. With all that had happened in his own family, he wondered if she stood before him blissfully ignorant, or willfully prepared. There was no mistaking the nervousness she was trying to suppress, the brave face she kept up as she spoke within, aside with an even more powerful yearning for understanding, and so he couldn't help but wonder. Was this unfazed bravery, or in this moment was she all alone, standing firm despite any fear she may have before him. "Oh, Lelyna..." He said just before taking a breath and narrowing his eyes lightly as he brought a hand up to the side of his face, leaning lightly against it as he leaned back in his chair. Again, he knew this would come eventually, and as he spoke his next words, his eyes would fall upon her with both concession and emphasis.

"In this world, and in the next, nothing is more precious than family..."

The smile on Lelyna’s face slowly faded away at Rhysian’s words. A cold chill of abject fear slipped up her spine and gripped her whole body. Her hands, previously gently clasped in her lap, gripped hard as her body began to lightly tremble and her gaze, once warm and adoring, filled with fear and tears.

He knew who she was. He knew what she was. Rhysian Fuerlain De’Valaer, a prominent member of the De’Valaer family, knew who she was. Swallowing past the lump in her throat, Lelyna tried to think of something to say. Some excuse. Some word to convince him that no, she wasn’t what he thought she was. But Lelyna felt such abject, paralyzing fear that she just couldn’t think straight.

“I-I..Y-You…I’m…n-not…” Body trembling, lip quivering, she didn’t know what to do. Her instincts told her to run, to escape, but her body wouldn’t move. And what good would that do anyway? He could teleport anywhere he wanted to! There was no escape for her…Kayl had tried to warn her to stay away from him, to be careful, but she hadn’t listened and now, it was all over for her…

Just as soon as the words left his mouth, the entire atmosphere in the room suddenly changed, cold as ice, a terrifying chill in the air. As Lelyna's face changed from the pleasant and kind expression she had come into the room with, to one of fear and dread. Rhysian's eyes narrowed deeply at her response and as she tried to stammer out some words that were incomplete, Rhysian let out a sigh as he came to understand at least in part, that she wasn't just removed from the family, but 'hidden' from them. Something was wrong in his family, and that wouldn't do.

"Lelyna, please, ease your mind..." He said while standing and stepping around his desk, coming closer to the frightened young girl, and sitting next to her in the other guest chair. "I'm not going to hurt you, I'm not going to hurt you..." He said calmly, in the softest of voices. He tried to ease her mind and her senses. "...and neither will anyone else while I live and breath," He followed up as a momentary expression of disconcerted anger, not at Lelyna, but at whatever had put her into this predicament took hold. Looking down at Lelyna, his expression softened as not to alarm her farther. "You look so much like your mother... you, and your brother," He said while bringing a hand up to her cheek, caressing it lightly before sitting back once more.

"Since the moment I met you, I thought it strange..." He started to say, continuing to speak as to calm her nerves, and try to help her believe him. To give her his understanding of her situation. "...why a child of the De'Valaer family, most high and prominent in the greatest kingdom in Eoana... was living under the name 'Thaniels', under a different house," He said with not only disappointment in his voice but distress at the mere idea of it. Who would dare take from Lelyna her birthright? "Especially when it seems, she knows who she is, and so must her brother..." He said before taking a deep breath and sighing once more. "Much has happened in my absence it seems, so much I have missed. Tell me, Lelyna... what happened?"

She heard his words and saw the concerned expression on his face, but it was hard to banish all of her fear. Logically, Lelyna knew that Rhysian had saved her life. He’d drawn her out of her coma and then restored her eyesight. And if he’d known who and what she was that whole time, he could have just let her die, he could have left her alone. If his intent toward her was malicious, then he would have already acted against her. But he hadn’t.

Even still, as Rhysian came around the desk to sit next to her, the rate at which her tears fell down her cheeks intensified, and she whimpered a little bit. Rhysian took the seat next to her, assuring her that he wasn’t going to harm her, his voice soft and soothing, much like how a father might calm his child… Lelyna looked up at him to see his look of anger. She swallowed hard, glad that that look wasn’t directed at her but rather toward someone who might threaten her.

‘ You look so much like your mother…you, and your brother…’

His touch was soft and reassuring, just like his tone of voice. Lelyna had to know how he’d known her mother. Had they been close at some point? Had he thought Nora had died upon giving birth as so many had been told? How would he feel knowing that she lived? Luckily for Lelyna, he didn’t ask her any questions…rather, he continued to speak.

Unclasping her hands, she reached up to wipe at her cheeks and eyes, listening as he spoke. It seemed that he’d known from the start, who she and Kayl were in relation to the family. They’d thought no one would notice – few people knew they were actually siblings even though they looked so much alike, especially now that her eyesight had been restored. But the more Rhysian spoke, the more he seemed to show disappointment and confusion – he wondered why Lelyna hadn’t been embraced by the family…Wasn’t the curse/superstition common knowledge?

Rhysian’s tone held so much emotion – distress, disappointment, sadness and concern. It was all for her and that was what amazed her most. He didn’t want to harm her. In fact, he seemed very concerned and upset by the fact that she had not grown up alongside Kayl. Much of the tension and stress left her, her fear slowly seeping away.

When he beseeched her to tell him what happened, she looked down at her hands. “Well…I only know what my mother told me and what I’ve seen from Kayl’s memories.” Lelyna said, looking up at Rhysian. “But what I do know, and what my mother was very adamant about was the fact that the De’Valaer family would kill me if they ever found out I existed.” She whispered low, her heart clenching and her throat tightening as she spoke.

“When Kayl was born, his father, our father, Eldyn, was so happy…He had a son! An heir. A beautiful baby boy…but when he found out that I was born, a twin…He was horrified. Not because he didn’t want me, but because…well, I guess twins are a curse to the family…? I don’t know why, but…” Releasing a heavy sigh, Lelyna looked at her hands. Eldyn ordered that I be killed. He quickly retracted the order, not having the heart to harm me, once he saw me and how much my mother cared for me…but he knew that if the rest of the family knew about me that my life would be forfeit. So, my mother ran away.”

Looking up at him, she gave him a pleading look. “I’m not supposed to exist! I’m not a De’Valaer. I’m Lelyna Thaniels.” Lelyna said a bit firmly, her lips thinning as she held her composure. “My mother risked her life to save me. She gave up everything, including the love of her life and her son! You cant tell the rest of the family, please! Lelyna said, reaching out to take Rhysian’s hand and hold them in her own. “Please…I’m begging you…”

Leaning forward slightly in his seat, Rhysian listened intently as Lelyna told the story. Initially, Rhysian felt a pang of anger at the thought of the De'Valaer family daring to kill this young woman just for being born. He couldn't fathom what could have brought this on, but kept his anger to himself as he listened to her story. Eldyn, second son of the De'Valaer family had at first given the order, horrified because of the second birth. 'They would be endangered because they are twins? Does this mean the family has killed twins before?...' Thinking about the likelihood of the scenario he had imagined, he stood up as his anger forced its way through and started to pace back and forth as Lelyna continued her story. Eldyn couldn't go through the act, he loved his children, both of them, and Rhysian stopped to look at Lelyna once more until she spoke of the curse of the twins 'They would dare!...' He thought again as Lelyna spoke of her mother running from the family to save her children's lives, leaving Kayl to be raised as an only child in order not to raise suspicion.

When Lelyna spoke of not being a De'Valaer, of not being allowed to exist, Rhysian felt his blood boil a bit and was about to tell Lelyna not to forsake herself. However she quickly took his hands, and begged him not to forsake her, not to reveal her, endanger her, not to kill her. "I'm begging you..." Rhysian closed his eyes as he took a breath, and then looked back down the young terrified girl in front of him. He would hold back the fury he felt in his blood, keep from her the intent that boiled in his soul. Pulling his hands from hers he brought them to her shoulders as he knelt in front of her. "Do not fret child, I will not tell a soul," He said lightly before standing and starting back towards his desk. "Why don't we take a break, I'm sure you've had your fill of dread today, and I of shock and disappointment. Go, rest, we can talk in the morning before class," He said as he reached his chair and sat back as if he was exhausted.

In truth, Rhysian was furious. He covered his face with a single hand only to cover his anger. As he thought about what Lelyna had told him, he clenched both his jaw and his fist as magical energy started to build within him. 'Baba!' He thought with ferocity as his mind reached out to the world. 'Yes, My Lord...' A voice echoed back from the reaches of empty air as Lelyna stood to exit his office. 'I want a full record of every birth brought about in the De'Valaer household in my absence, every birth, AND EVERY DEATH!...' His inner voice and thoughts rang out furious at the thought that started to plague his mind. 'That might prove difficult, there might not be complete records for eve...' The voice started to ring back, but was cut off immediately by Rhysian's thoughts. 'I don't care, Baba, make it happen...' He thought vigorously as he heard Lelyna open his office door. 'As you wish, My Lord...' The voice echoed through his mind once more as he sat back up in his seat, and looked up to Lelyna who had started to exit through the office door. "Lelyna..." Rhysian called out just before she closed the door behind her, catching her attention for just a moment more, "Your secret is safe with me..."

Lelyna was surprised when Rhysian pulled his hands from hers. She took it as a bad sign until he grasped her shoulders gently and knelt in front of her. Looking into his eyes, she nodded at his words, believing him at his word. Breathing a small sigh of relief, she felt a weight leave her chest. “Thank you, Professor…I appreciate your consideration and apologize for this…” It seemed that their meeting, which had been meant for her to convey her gratitude had turned into something so much more intense – he knew her secret after all. But considering that he was on her side and willing to protect her, Lelyna actually felt safer than she had before. Now, she didn’t have to be as careful around him.

As Rhysian moved back to his desk, slumping down as if exhausted, she frowned a little. For whatever reason, this whole ordeal seemed to have taken an emotional toll on him. Swallowing hard, Lelyna arose from her seat, straightening her skirts about her for a moment before heading to the door. As she opened it, Rhysian called out to her again. Stopping, she looked over her shoulder, her hand poised on the handle. “Yes, Professor?”

Smiling a bit at his words, she nodded her head in understanding. “Thank you…I’ll see you for class tomorrow. I hope you have a pleasant evening.” That being said, she stepped out and closed the door behind her securely. It seemed that she had a lot to discuss with her brother, once she saw him again…

~ Philia entered on New Day ~

After learning of Camillas situation the previous day, the woman was for the most part curious as to the background of the young girls family "Umbrawalker," spending some time checking her own resources for information to no avail. And it appeared today the man in charge of the Grand Library would be absent. This left her with next to nothing to start with today. It was kind of disappointing really. While naturally as the girls Professor she was looking for some sort of information to make sense of the Fathers apparent behaviour she was just as intrigued as of what kind of background the family had to be capable of such damage as what was seen in the Training Grounds. Given the current restrictions though Philia had to postpone her research. In exchange she was able to sum up another possible action for the day... Hence why today she would be standing just in front of the door of a single person whome she both respected and was intrigued about... Lord Rhysian.

She had been keeping an lookout for signs of a number of different people that were expected to arrive here in Eoana, making notes for the Court Mage. It seemed like a good time to pass on her current information, with any luck this will also show her usefullness as well as loyalty to him and Baba... Perhaps it will even lead to her discovering things she otherwise would never know about, a possibility with almost any connection that is established with another individual. Once her thoughts were composed Philia would raise her hand to the door, knocking it twice and awaiting a response inside, be it the door opening or permission to enter. It would be a bad idea to relay her information from the outside, with the possibility of it reaching the ears of anybody that is not involved. Gossip is a dangerous weapon, especially among students.

Sitting at the large desk centered at the back of the room, Rhysian was sitting ever so slightly leaned forward, looking at what seemed to be a very old scroll or document of some sort. The imagery and words decadently written upon the ancient document were in a language long lost in the world and Rhysian was scrutinously overlooking it when a sudden knock came at his door. "Come in," He would say lightly while slowly rolling up the scroll and placing it at the side of his desk. When Philia entered the room, Rhysian nodded subtly and stood to step around his desk. "Ms. Maksimov, where do we stand..." Rhysian would ask immediately, getting straight to the business at hand while stepping over to the side of his office and grabbing a decanter to pour the teacher a drink.

Once she heard the voice from the other side of the door, the Professor gently pushed the door open and made her way inside, her eyes locking onto the man seating in front of her and the emotion on her face seeming to fade near immediately. "...Sir." She would state simply, bowing her head quickly as she pushed the door shut behind her. The woman then stood up straight and spoke once more. "Lord. Pardon the interruption." The woman maintained her gaze on the man through her bangs. To no surprise he was straight to the point. Seemed to be fully aware of why she was here. She looked to her papers, a checklist to be specific, and walked to the front of the desk to take her seat. "So far... Most of them appear to have made it to the Docks. Just within the last day or two a few of the nobles have arrived." The Enhancer looked back to Lord Rhysian briefly, watching him pouring a drink as the woman continued. "Umbrawalker, Malxarra... As I assume you are aware were already long present, my Lord." It was no hassle for the woman to keep note of people going in and out of Eoana... Especially those of noble blood. Word travelled fast throughout the streets and the raised security within the Docks often made their arrivals clear as day. She'd been keeping track of how long each name had been in Eoana... In case it was required information.

The woman cleared her throat and proceeded to continue the list. "There have been some recent arrivals within the last 24 hours. Notably the lords of the following families." She paused for a second to take a breath before going through the names, crossing one leg over her knee to lay the paper at an clear angle for her to read."Lord Kuevaal... Al'Beveron... Andeste... Barathyr... As well as Lord Echsarte and Lord Nemont..." The womans eyes narrowed and her tone seemingly disappointed for her final words. "There is still no sign of the Lords of De'Valaer, Brarlea and Lady Caertyrne" With her report concluded for the moment Philia straightened her posted and rested the papers flat on her lap, allowing a low sigh out. "Otherwise, it appears almost all of them are present, as expected." The woman reached to her chin, scratching it lightly a she would wonder... To be frank, she was curious. But noted to be wary of her words so as not to potentially offend the Court Mage. Or even so much as result in him doubting her loyalty in any way. "...My Lord. Might I be so bold as to inquire..." The woman paused to confirm the choice of words she would use. "...To... Inquire... The purpose of all of these families gathering." At this point her eyes were observing the man carefully. She was watching for any possibility of him disliking her question. Any small detail. Information was golden to the woman, but certainly not worth endangering her reputation towards Rhysian or Baba as a valuable resource.
