╔═══════════════════ [ - Begin Interaction for RP Day - ]
“Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me, Professor…I know how precious your time is as a Court Mage. I’m sure you have much more important things to be doing than meeting with me today.” Lelyna said as she fidgeted in her seat a little bit. Hands clasped in her lap, she looked down at them for a moment as she gathered her thoughts.
Looking back up at Rhysian, she spoke. “I just…I wanted to thank you for everything that you’ve done for me. You saved my life. I know that for certain. I don’t know how you did it, but you were able to find me in the labyrinth of my memories. Through all the libraries and endless doors you found me and brought me back, That alone puts me heavily in your debt.” Lelyna said clearly, happy to have finally said the words. “And then…you gave me my sight back.” She said in a soft whisper, looking him in the eye as she said it, driving the point home.
As Lelyna held his intense gaze, she found herself getting a bit teary-eyed. She couldn’t fathom why he had done all these things for her, why he’d cared so much. She’d been warned by her brother to be wary and cautious of Rhysian – he was a De’Valaer after all and for all she knew the moment he found out who she truly was, he’d want her dead. But…despite the danger, she felt drawn to him. She wanted to know him, to learn from him. Yes, she was risking her life, but technically, she owned him her life. So why not risk it?
“I know that you don’t owe me an answer as to why you did these things, Professor but I hope that you will tell me…” Rhysian was the only one that had the answers she so desperately sought and she hoped that he would at least tell her something to shed some light on the questions that persisted in her mind.

╔═══════════════════ The smile on Lelyna’s face slowly faded away at Rhysian’s words. A cold chill of abject fear slipped up her spine and gripped her whole body. Her hands, previously gently clasped in her lap, gripped hard as her body began to lightly tremble and her gaze, once warm and adoring, filled with fear and tears.
He knew who she was. He knew what she was. Rhysian Fuerlain De’Valaer, a prominent member of the De’Valaer family, knew who she was. Swallowing past the lump in her throat, Lelyna tried to think of something to say. Some excuse. Some word to convince him that no, she wasn’t what he thought she was. But Lelyna felt such abject, paralyzing fear that she just couldn’t think straight.
“I-I..Y-You…I’m…n-not…” Body trembling, lip quivering, she didn’t know what to do. Her instincts told her to run, to escape, but her body wouldn’t move. And what good would that do anyway? He could teleport anywhere he wanted to! There was no escape for her…Kayl had tried to warn her to stay away from him, to be careful, but she hadn’t listened and now, it was all over for her…

╔═══════════════════ She heard his words and saw the concerned expression on his face, but it was hard to banish all of her fear. Logically, Lelyna knew that Rhysian had saved her life. He’d drawn her out of her coma and then restored her eyesight. And if he’d known who and what she was that whole time, he could have just let her die, he could have left her alone. If his intent toward her was malicious, then he would have already acted against her. But he hadn’t.
Even still, as Rhysian came around the desk to sit next to her, the rate at which her tears fell down her cheeks intensified, and she whimpered a little bit. Rhysian took the seat next to her, assuring her that he wasn’t going to harm her, his voice soft and soothing, much like how a father might calm his child… Lelyna looked up at him to see his look of anger. She swallowed hard, glad that that look wasn’t directed at her but rather toward someone who might threaten her.
‘ You look so much like your mother…you, and your brother…’
His touch was soft and reassuring, just like his tone of voice. Lelyna had to know how he’d known her mother. Had they been close at some point? Had he thought Nora had died upon giving birth as so many had been told? How would he feel knowing that she lived? Luckily for Lelyna, he didn’t ask her any questions…rather, he continued to speak.
Unclasping her hands, she reached up to wipe at her cheeks and eyes, listening as he spoke. It seemed that he’d known from the start, who she and Kayl were in relation to the family. They’d thought no one would notice – few people knew they were actually siblings even though they looked so much alike, especially now that her eyesight had been restored. But the more Rhysian spoke, the more he seemed to show disappointment and confusion – he wondered why Lelyna hadn’t been embraced by the family…Wasn’t the curse/superstition common knowledge?
Rhysian’s tone held so much emotion – distress, disappointment, sadness and concern. It was all for her and that was what amazed her most. He didn’t want to harm her. In fact, he seemed very concerned and upset by the fact that she had not grown up alongside Kayl. Much of the tension and stress left her, her fear slowly seeping away.
When he beseeched her to tell him what happened, she looked down at her hands. “Well…I only know what my mother told me and what I’ve seen from Kayl’s memories.” Lelyna said, looking up at Rhysian. “But what I do know, and what my mother was very adamant about was the fact that the De’Valaer family would kill me if they ever found out I existed.” She whispered low, her heart clenching and her throat tightening as she spoke.
“When Kayl was born, his father, our father, Eldyn, was so happy…He had a son! An heir. A beautiful baby boy…but when he found out that I was born, a twin…He was horrified. Not because he didn’t want me, but because…well, I guess twins are a curse to the family…? I don’t know why, but…” Releasing a heavy sigh, Lelyna looked at her hands. Eldyn ordered that I be killed. He quickly retracted the order, not having the heart to harm me, once he saw me and how much my mother cared for me…but he knew that if the rest of the family knew about me that my life would be forfeit. So, my mother ran away.”
Looking up at him, she gave him a pleading look. “I’m not supposed to exist! I’m not a De’Valaer. I’m Lelyna Thaniels.” Lelyna said a bit firmly, her lips thinning as she held her composure. “My mother risked her life to save me. She gave up everything, including the love of her life and her son! You cant tell the rest of the family, please!” Lelyna said, reaching out to take Rhysian’s hand and hold them in her own. “Please…I’m begging you…”

╔═══════════════════ Lelyna was surprised when Rhysian pulled his hands from hers. She took it as a bad sign until he grasped her shoulders gently and knelt in front of her. Looking into his eyes, she nodded at his words, believing him at his word. Breathing a small sigh of relief, she felt a weight leave her chest. “Thank you, Professor…I appreciate your consideration and apologize for this…” It seemed that their meeting, which had been meant for her to convey her gratitude had turned into something so much more intense – he knew her secret after all. But considering that he was on her side and willing to protect her, Lelyna actually felt safer than she had before. Now, she didn’t have to be as careful around him.
As Rhysian moved back to his desk, slumping down as if exhausted, she frowned a little. For whatever reason, this whole ordeal seemed to have taken an emotional toll on him. Swallowing hard, Lelyna arose from her seat, straightening her skirts about her for a moment before heading to the door. As she opened it, Rhysian called out to her again. Stopping, she looked over her shoulder, her hand poised on the handle. “Yes, Professor?”
Smiling a bit at his words, she nodded her head in understanding. “Thank you…I’ll see you for class tomorrow. I hope you have a pleasant evening.” That being said, she stepped out and closed the door behind her securely. It seemed that she had a lot to discuss with her brother, once she saw him again…

Once she heard the voice from the other side of the door, the Professor gently pushed the door open and made her way inside, her eyes locking onto the man seating in front of her and the emotion on her face seeming to fade near immediately. "...Sir." She would state simply, bowing her head quickly as she pushed the door shut behind her. The woman then stood up straight and spoke once more. "Lord. Pardon the interruption." The woman maintained her gaze on the man through her bangs. To no surprise he was straight to the point. Seemed to be fully aware of why she was here. She looked to her papers, a checklist to be specific, and walked to the front of the desk to take her seat. "So far... Most of them appear to have made it to the Docks. Just within the last day or two a few of the nobles have arrived." The Enhancer looked back to Lord Rhysian briefly, watching him pouring a drink as the woman continued. "Umbrawalker, Malxarra... As I assume you are aware were already long present, my Lord." It was no hassle for the woman to keep note of people going in and out of Eoana... Especially those of noble blood. Word travelled fast throughout the streets and the raised security within the Docks often made their arrivals clear as day. She'd been keeping track of how long each name had been in Eoana... In case it was required information.
The woman cleared her throat and proceeded to continue the list. "There have been some recent arrivals within the last 24 hours. Notably the lords of the following families." She paused for a second to take a breath before going through the names, crossing one leg over her knee to lay the paper at an clear angle for her to read."Lord Kuevaal... Al'Beveron... Andeste... Barathyr... As well as Lord Echsarte and Lord Nemont..." The womans eyes narrowed and her tone seemingly disappointed for her final words. "There is still no sign of the Lords of De'Valaer, Brarlea and Lady Caertyrne" With her report concluded for the moment Philia straightened her posted and rested the papers flat on her lap, allowing a low sigh out. "Otherwise, it appears almost all of them are present, as expected." The woman reached to her chin, scratching it lightly a she would wonder... To be frank, she was curious. But noted to be wary of her words so as not to potentially offend the Court Mage. Or even so much as result in him doubting her loyalty in any way. "...My Lord. Might I be so bold as to inquire..." The woman paused to confirm the choice of words she would use. "...To... Inquire... The purpose of all of these families gathering." At this point her eyes were observing the man carefully. She was watching for any possibility of him disliking her question. Any small detail. Information was golden to the woman, but certainly not worth endangering her reputation towards Rhysian or Baba as a valuable resource.
