The third troll she came across was down for the count, out cold as far as she could tell. Tsarzi stepped forward quickly, keeping her wits about her should the troll awaken and startle, but they hardly moved. Testing for a pule, she found it weak but there. Tsarzi retreated back topside to call in an emergency aid team.

This was proof what a serious risk this event was. and this was publicly sponsored and approved. Ridiculous.

Not only ridiculous, but highly irresponsible. It wasn't her business if trolls wanted to try to kill themselves at public events, tho it did lead to her wasting her time digging them out of the snow.

The contestants were buried deeper and deeper it seemed. She'd found a path leading deeper in the snow, but part of the tunnel had collapsed. Limbs ached with cold and exertion as she cleared the blockage, finding a thankful and desperate troll behind the snow, their own shovel lost somewhere deeper in the avalanche.

Most of these trolls seemed pretty desperate to get back to the surface and for good reason too. More reason to find them faster.

After that long under the snow, they're sure to have learned a lesson. Tsarzi took a moment to check the moons for how much time had passed.

Tsarzi kept tracking, heading for the steeper areas and beginning to clear some of the area, listening for survivors.

Tsarzi doubled back after a moment. Just there, she could hear something and feel the snow shifting.

Freeing the fifth lost soul, Tsarzi could only minutely shake her head as Lupos huffed a question about how trolls could be this stupid. It was basic survival instincts to not engage a natural disaster like this, and these trolls were paying the price for it now. Cold, dark, and lonely, the time spend under the snow was sure to be an unpleasant one.

Even for intense training, this could barely count for anything. The actual risk of death for a trophy was just idiotic.

Sifting through the snow, Tsarzi found another cave in. She began to clear it when her shovel struck something more solid than packed snow. Calling Lupos down to help, they cleared the snow from the body quickly. With some finagling, the unconscious body found a place on Lupos's back, Tsarzi holding it on board, as they rushed back to the surface.

It put the pressure on, finding trolls in such dire situations. How many were passed out under the snow?
