Personality: Marion often tends to be quiet with anti-social qualities, hardly expressing any emotion while keeping her signature neutral expression that it seems to be difficult to know what she's thinking.
You can say that past trauma made her really introverted and avoid people at most times though she still has managed to make a few friends over time surprisingly. Perhaps they share something in common that she feels comfortable around them. Sometimes she'll use a doll possessed by a spirit to talk in her place if she wasn't feeling up for it. Though over time she has managed to overcome some of her anxiety.
Bio: Marion's childhood was... to say the least not a time she remembers fondly of. Imagine growing up being told you're cursed or a monster that shouldn't be born and being blamed for your father's death at the young age of four and having that being held over your head for over a decade. To be born with something she had no control over.
She was born in Marseille France to her parents Abella and Matthieu de Noire, a coastal city by the Medeterania Sea with a population of 1.6 million. It is also known as the oldest city in France and possibly one of the oldest cities in Europe. One of the only positives she remembered growing up was probably going to the beach with her mother- she was still sensitive to direct sunlight but when she was younger, she actually enjoyed going out.
Things began going downhill when she was a toddler, though the memories are kind of a blur to her from that long ago and things were still steady. But she kind of remembered how other children would avoid her. Adults mumbling behind her back saying that something was wrong with her. Something like she gave off a strange aura. Children tend to copy adults but were crueller; such as throw rocks at her and calling her names like witch or fiend. One of the reasons she became anti-social and reclusive.
Things took a steep drop when her father got seriously ill before passing not long after when she was only four years old. Now it was just her, her mother, and the house workers. At least they were kind to Marion though because, since the passing of Matthieu, her mother struggled a lot to mourn while raising her daughter at the same time. So the nannies helped and raised her for a few years to let Abella process and grieve. Though the bullying got more severe, not only were other children picking on her; adults too. Boys would throw rocks at her and girls would purposely trip her a lot. By the age of ten, all she did was go to school and go straight home, she either stayed inside or in her room with her dolls. Her mother tried helping Marion's confidence by inviting kids her age over but all they'd do is hit her or shove her around when Abella wasn't looking and even if she noticed the bruises on Marion; all she'd say was that she fell.
As she got older, was when she began to take notice of something. There was a whisp, it always floated just a bit out of her reach. She didn't know what it was but it gave a weird comfort feeling, a familiar feeling. And that's when she heard it, it sounded like... her father? Was she imagining it or was it real? That was when her mother walked in on her daughter staring at nothing. Marion asked "Do you not see it? There's a floating thing over there, it sounded like fa-" though she was cut off as her mother hushed her. There panic in her eyes, her child was already treated like a Salem witch with a lack of evidence but this? If they knew that Marion could do. She'd never know peace. After that Marion would continue communicating with this whisp, it turned out to really be her father's spirit. Though it brought her mother slight ease whenever Marion passed on messages from her late husband; it brought her more worry for her daughter's well-being if word spreads.
She went to study abroad, perhaps get a fresh start where she doesn't have to cower in fear of being bullied or picked on. Despite being in a new environment with people who probably don't know much about her, but the anxiety was still there. Though to her surprise, she has actually made friends. It was probably the first time she genuinely smiled.
After graduating high school, she decided to go back home with the little courage she managed to gain from the time she spent away though now that they're all adults it seems the whole cursed thing was forgotten? Well, she was still given strange looks but that was it. Was she finally free from all of that? Though she returned to study abroad again as an undergraduate while also in medical school. By the time she finished medical school she began studying to earn the medical licence she needed. And after she got her licence now she needs to complete her residency which was when she stumbled across a gentleman by the name of Emelius Baines, a medical examiner.
