  • Description: Taken last year on Labour Day. It was cool and wet, the stores were all closed and it really gave Winnipeg this really... Desolate feel to it. Especially when this isn't one of its nicer areas, either.

If you're wondering why all the lights are red, its because this is a one way street. They do in fact exist. 8|

  • woah... it's like I just stepped into a book. o.o
    That's really cool looking. Awesome.
(and one-way streets... the ones I DO have around here don't have lights. lol! But still, way cool.)

Unfortunately, this part of the city is very desolate and impoverished. Most of the businesses and houses in this area can't afford to do proper maintenance on their property and eventually it all just starts to crumble and fall apart. Not to mention the amount of violence, gangs, addicts, etc that fill the area. It's really tragic. =(

  • This is lovely. I stared at it for the longest time; I write a lot and this perfectly captures a mood I was going for but could not find the right words for. Beautiful- I really hope this wins.
