- Description: Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist. So named because of the automail appendages, he is the youngest state alchemist in history. He and his younger brother Alphonse, who lost his body and had his soul bound to a suit of armor in the same failed human transmutation that cost Ed his arm and leg, travel the world looking for the philosophers stone. The philosophers stone is the only object powerful enough to return what the siblings lost trying to resurrect their mother.
