He became skilled enough to even create his own jutsu the chidori, which was imperfect because his eyes couldn't see well enough at the speeds he was traveling at, in till he received the sharingan from a fallen comrade as a birthday gift.

@ Paladin598 not when he's using the sharingan, his head is tilted to cover up his eye it's straight when he uses it.

- in the avitar creater it puts it on the other side, and you used to be able to chose which side it let you face in the arena but they "fixed" that, and the headband is only tilted when its covering up the sharingan eye
