She frowned. He was so rude! How could he just insult her like that. He dropped a black rose onto the cold sidewalk and turned, clearly done with this girl. She watched him walk away, his hands balled into fists. After he had disappeared into the sun rising out of the young horizon's pocket, she bent down the rose. A angry thorn broke her skin and a droplet of crimson fell. That's when she had an idea. A slow, knowing smile spread across her lips.
