    As my BFF will be quick to tell you, I'm what she calls a "Jesus freak". I will be the first to admit that is true. But that just scratches the surface of what I feel, to be quite honest. It's something beyond just an obsession about some celebrity or some hobby I pursue avidly. I don't know if people really understand that.<br />

    For most of my life, I was not Christian. When church was mentioned, I, I'm sorry to admit, pictured crazy people bowing to crosses for hours. I suppose I really didn't know what I was missing. Then, because I was in a play that practiced at a church, we had to go to one service to say thanks for the chance to use their stage. And with that, my stereotype of what a church was crashed and burned. The people there weren't crazy obsessives, but a cheerful and joyous bunch. I have to admit, I was sort of jealous. What did they have that I didn't?<br />
    <br />
    After returning to that church many times, that answer suddenly became apparent. These people were so happy because they were surrounded by the love of the Lord. The same all-powerful, almighty God who created the Universe in a week loved THEM! He loved them so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to be tortured and humiliated on a cross so that we would not have to face punishment for things that we have done wrong (and there are a LOT of those, let me tell you!). And He loves all of us the exact same way. He desires to have a relationship with us. To be there when we fall. To give meaning to our triumphs. To spend eternity with us in heaven. All we have to do is say "yes".<br />

    So, am I a Jesus freak? You better believe it. The question is: Are you?<br />
