  • Artist Info: Eh... Memories taste like tears; who can survive on saltwater? We're encouraging the ignorant, we gave them bliss. Hope is a dream that fades as quickly as it comes. Three things you live for: -The past -The present -The future Simple enough, though each is different. Your desire is different. The past is a collection of memories, personal memories. Things you've accomplished, people you've met, everything that has led up to you being you. You take pride in your work and feel complete knowing that what you've done has made a significant impact either to yourself or your friends or to the world as a whole. You no longer expect to make anything more with your life, you've done the best you could and you've come as far as you can go. Life is complete, but it's still worth living. You reap the benefits of your work. The present is impatient, jumping from one distraction to the next. You don’t want to remember the past, you don’t want to think of the future, and so you distract yourself. Gossip, television, the internet, sports and the like are all forms of distractions. Ignorance is bliss, and so the longer you stay ignorant the longer you can stay happy. There's no reason to dwell on the past, you just go on missing the people who've left and wondering why now cant be then. There's no reason to think ahead if what you have right now works. Live life to its fullest, experience everything the world has to offer. The future is a hope, and thus because of that it's flimsy. It doesn’t last, and often times it changes leaving you to cope with your new reality. Again, it's a distraction, this time from the present. You hope for love, for wealth, for prosperity. It could be all, it could be one thing, and often times you'll find yourself day dreaming about what would be different if you were successful. You have a goal to work for, never reaching it fully because then that hope would go away, but tasting it. You may be rich, but you want to be richer. You may be loved, but you want more love. You want something to work for, trying to avoid losing what you already have but pushing forward none the less. You dream of college, of a job, of a family, of grandchildren, and on and on the cycle goes on. You're satisfied because you know what you're capable of and because you always have a focus. You know what you're supposed to be doing, and that makes you content. They're each a form of avoiding reality, and just depend on the direction you look at. But then, there's a fourth life view. Reality. It's the hardest to describe, because the world really is full of pain and suffering [and happiness and joy, but what joy is worth more than a lost life?] and so, by instinct, we turn away. These people know the true shape of the world, free of bias and loyalty. They understand that nothing will be worth hurting another, and that people will be hurt none the less. Some try to lessen the pain, start charities and expand the horizons of others. But no one likes to listen. Others watch, and pray. The cycle of pain cant be broken, not as long as everyone lives in their fantasies, but reality is harsh. Happiness is scarce, pain is everywhere, and the only way to survive is to remember that kindness exists. But like I said, when is joy ever worth more than a lost life?<br />
