• 'Crimson red eyes bore a hole through the deep dark fog. They didn't blink. They just were there. Then, as the seconds ticked by a pair of deep golden fluttered to life a bout a foot next to the crimson ones. I felt my breath catch in my throat, they were beautiful, beyond imaginable. The crimson eyes moved, all to look at the golden ones. The eyes looked from each other, and them back to me. Then, as fast as they appeared, they disappeared. I looked frantically around to locate them, but they were no-where to be found, they were gone, dissipated into the night fog' ~ ~ ~ ~ That's when I woke up.

I had been having the exact same dream ever since I'd met Charlotte. She was my best friend and I'd only known her for a bout a month.

She was gorgeous, her hair was bouncy orange curls with speckles of red, like shining stars in the night sky. Her eyes, pure gold, with brown around the rim and pupils. Her skin was chalky, a flawless feature. All the guys wanted her and she denied them all. It was hard to believe she was my best friend.

Then there was me. The exact opposite of Charlotte, or Char, as I called her. I had curly, hard to handle hair, a deep chocolate brown. Charlotte had said I had streaks of orange and light brown in it, but I never seemed to see it. I was clumsy, except when it came to sports, and was lightly tan. The only thing I liked about me was the fact I could eat a cake in an hour and not gain any weight, ( high metabolism ) and my eyes. A dark forest green, layered with golds, browns, and grays. Many people thought they were contacts, but I had never worn contacts in my life.

"Priscilla!" a perfectly tuned voice sang out, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up to who was calling my name, it was Charlotte. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts, a old habit of mine. I sighed, stood up, and pushed my bright red glasses up my nose, Charlotte insisted me on getting them and I couldn't deny her.
    "What?" I asked her.
"What were you doing just now?" she asked, her perfect head tilting to the side.
"Nothing." I lied. I was a horrible liar, and she knew it.
"What-evar." she said shrugging. I took a step forward, almost tripping over the gravity as I did.

Sure I was good at sports and being athletic, but when it all came down to it, and I wasn't having a ball thrown at my face or having to jump into the water from 15 feet up, I was as clumsy as could be.

Charlotte linked arms with me and we walked down the pathway from my house. As we walked Charlotte mumbled something about Tom and Felix. I glanced up at the sky, it was grey and the sun was no-where to be found. Then again it was always dark in Salem, Oregon. Whenever it wasn't was a total surprise, and when that happened Charlotte and her family went camping, because of the good weather. She and her parents lived with 4 other foster children: Felix, Mary-Ann, and the twins, Bill and Tom. They had lived together since they were kids, well so I'd been told.

I felt a slight nudge as Felix and Tom joined us.
"Ahya!" Tom said, his accent awing me every time. He and his brother were both German.

Tom had always been friendly. He was the older twin but defiantly not the more mature one. He had thick, dirty, blond dreadlocks. His eyes were a dark chocolate brown and he had his lip pierced on the right. He was a skater and always wore a baseball cap with a beanie under it, that I never understood.

"and so that's why, you're so annoying." Felix finished his what seemed like a explanation, and I was confused, because of thinking. Tom rolled his eyes and looked at me. He waved a hand in front of my face and I shook my head.
"Allo?" he asked. Charlotte and Felix both stopped to look at me. I blinked twice, re focused in to Tom's face and flustered.
"Huh? Wha-?" I asked confused. Charlotte giggled and looked at Felix.
"We asked you if you wanted to go to the mall, with us." she looked at Felix then at Tom.
"Sure, I've got nothing better to do." I said shrugging. Charlotte clapped her hands together and smiled, then pulled out her phone.
"Whas are you doen?" he asked looking confused and dropping his hand. Charlotte put put up a finger as she dialed.
"Calling Bill. He's got the car." she said as she walked off to talk.

My heart fluttered just at Bill's name. He. Was. Gorgeous. Perfect, flawless skin, tall and thin. His eyes were like little golden suns, coming up over the ocean. But it was his hair that amazed me. It was spiked like a porcupine and it was black as night, streaks of bleach were weaved in, setting off the black. Sometimes it was down, and when it was it was straight and never messed up. I smiled at nothing and stared up at the dark puffy rain clouds.

Charlotte walked back over a grin plastered perfectly on her face.
"Ready to go?" she asked. We nodded together at once, and as we did a sleek red and black convertible pulled up. The top was down and bleached tips sticking out.

I felt the corners of my lips curl up into a goofy smile. Charlotte looked at me and then decided to drag me into the back with her and Felix. Tom sat in the passengers seat and obviously, Bill drove. We clicked our seat-belts and off we went.

As we arrived at the mall, the clouds started to part. Bill pushed a button, making the top go up and over our heads. Charlotte groaned and leaned back in her seat.
"Bill!" she moaned. "Why'd you put the top up?" Bill didn't answer. He was always silent, not much of the social butterfly type. He always had a wild look in his eyes, though. Many girls strayed away from him, because of the way he dressed. Lots of black and silver, many times gold or white. He wasn't goth and not yet emo. . . .Charlotte had always said he was his own style, no-one dared to duplicate. I was, likely, the only girl who thought he was cute, and shy as I was around boys, was too scared to admit it to his face, I hadn't told Charlotte, afraid she'd tell him.

After Bill had parked the car, we got out and headed towards the food court. Oh, yea, another thing, Charlotte, Bill, Felix, and Mary-Ann, never ate or drank anything. . . .period.

Charlotte linked arms with me and took Felix's hand. Many people thought they were dating, but they always denied it. We pushed open the heavy doors and walked into the mall.

The familiar aroma of perfume, soap and fried food wafted through our noses. I looked at Tom, who was eying a 'popular' then looked at Bill. Bill looked at the girl then at Tom, shook his head and rolled his eyes as Tom groaned and pushed out his bottom lip. Charlotte giggled and exchanged glances.

As we wandered through the mall, every store we went in looked at us like we were wearing alien costumes. And then every-now-and-again a few girls would come up and follow Tom and giggle, but when they saw Bill, they were off in a flash. It was weird how they just left without seeing who he really was.

The time passed and soon enough, we got bored. Charlotte and Felix broke off and went a different way. In the back of my mind I'd have to remember to yell at Charlotte, for leaving me alone with Tom and Bill.

Bill looked at Tom, who looked at me. His phone started to ring, and he walked off to answer it. I reminded myself to, not only yell at Charlotte, but now also at Tom. Bill looked at me and shrugged.
"So. . ." he said, his sadistic tone echoed through my head like a drum. "What do we do now?" he asked. I smiled at him. I knew exactly what would make him smile. One of two things. The candy shop or Hot Topic.
"Wanna go get some candy?" I asked like it was no big deal, but a huge smile was plastered on my face. It took him a couple of seconds to register what I just said, and when it did, his face lit up and he smiled.
"Really?!" he asked, like a little boy, "Let's go!" he grabbed my hand, before I could even reply, and took off towards the walkway. I smiled, I knew Bill all-too-well.

As we arrived at the Sweet Cafe, as it was called, Bill dropped my hand and his smile grew, ten times in size. There was no-one else in the store.
"I'll pay." I stated. "Just don't go over $35." as I started to wander towards the gummi section, where he was. His eyes were as wide as apples and he was frantically putting candy into a bag. I giggled, and grabbed a bag and started tossing a couple of gummi bears in, then my phone vibrated in my pocket. I stopped what I was doing and pulled it out of my pocket. I flipped it, to see who it was from. The name read Charlotte, I pressed 'OPEN' and the message screen blinked to life. My eyes scanned the words: 'Knew leavin u 2 alone wus a good idea wink ' I gasped. So Charlotte did know! I heard Bill mumbling and I looked up, while pushing my phone back into my pocket, he had a mouthful of candy and he looked like a little spiky hamster, storing food. I laughed as he tried to speak.
"Primilla? More yow ready to gwo?" I nodded, trying to contain my laughter. We walked over to the cashier, she looked at Bill quizzically but rolled her eyes, and ignored him. I gave her the money, grabbed my bag of candy, with Bill following.

Bill and I wandered around the mall some more, laughing and seeing who could toss a gummi bear into the air and catch it in our mouth. (Bill was way better then I was.) When our bags had finally been emptied, we decided it was time to head home.
    "Hey Bill?" I asked.
    "Hmm?" he answered.
    "Will the car be there?"
"Ya." he nodded, and I followed him. I was a bit confused on how Felix, Charlotte, and Tom had gotten home, if they didn't take the car, but I ignored it.

We walked into the parking lot. The sun had started to just come up over the clouds, in the middle of the sky, it was about noon. I looked around, the car was still there, exactly how we had left it.. I looked up at Bill, who was still smiling. I couldn't take it anymore! His smile was so adorable, that I just had to smile along with him! He unlocked the door, and I got in. He started the car and pulled out.

As we drove he pushed the ON button on the radio. To my surprise, a soft classical Beethoven started to play. I was immensely taken back by this, Bill would've never seemed like the type of guy who would play Beethoven, but hey, never judge a book by it's cover, right?
