• I gazed at the ready-lit match as it burnt down, scorching my fingers. I snapped out if the trance as I flinched and gasped with pain. Looking back at the letterbox the stench of petrol soared through my airways. I wasn't going to regret tonight. Tonight was my escape, from all the rage I felt. I was angry at the world around me. It has nothing left for me. Everything I ever had has been taken away from me, every friend I never had, every piece of happiness I nearly felt, had been destroyed by bullies.
The small town was empty, I saw the time was 3:30am as I glanced down at my watch. The air was cold. I struck another match and walked to the letterbox inside the block of flats. I closed my eyes tight as I slipped the match through. Everyone in the flat was asleep. I had tipped petrol through the letterbox and across the halls. I walked out of the block and threw another match in before shutting the door and setting the deadlock. This was only the start. I walked away, grinning. For tonight the city would sleep in flames.
