• I run from the unlighted alley way as I hear the men chase after me, 'What do they want? ' I think to myself, pain corsing through my lower leg muscles, I look down to see my hand covering a large hole in my lower leg. "bastards shot me.' I think, the adreniline fills my veins as my feet hammer on the darkened street. I hear them in their drunken stuber behind me, I have a good lead on them, and normally I am a fast runner for my size, but in my condition I won't be able to keep the lead long if something goes amiss. I turn a sharp left uptowards the main part of town, 'I need to get somewhere with light,' I think frantically to myself, I force myself to go beyond my fastest. I hear their shouts now as they also turn onto the same street as me. Leaves litter the hard wet cement, it had snowed yesterday. I manage to keep myself from tripping on a large hole in the road. I feel dizzy from the loss of blood. I hear them now, their feet beating about as fast as my heart is pumping blood. I stumble again and this time get a mouth full of rocks. I wast no time on my injured lip or cheek, I pounce up and get back in rhythm again. They think I something but I don't. The leader, John, Has caught up to me. "hey baby how did you like your little parting gift." he called out, laughter fills the night as his men hear what he said and find it funny. He flashes me that smile that I loved when we were going out, but he is still more then a little sore about me breaking up with him for a new guy. I don't focus on him, which is my first mistake. He reaches out with his shinny revolver, that catches the moon's beams and reflects them into my eyes and everyother direction. the sudden flash of brightness causes me to close my eyes. He jumps foward and grabs around my waist pullng me up. The momentum in my feet halut as I keep running in mid air. I Kick and go to let out a scream, but instead of smacking me to shut me up he kisses me, on instinct, I relax. The familiar feeling of his arms around me, him kissing me like this, causes me to feel safe and secure when my mind tells me I am not 'what are you doing?! you fool!' I simply scream at myself. He pulls away and looks down at my leg. "now lets take you back to the house and get your leg fixed up, Joeey, sure did a number on you didn't he." he said softly picking me up off my feet. relief comes over me and so does exhaustion. I lay my head on his shoulder lightly. 'It is the pill that he slipped into my water the reason I ran. I have to fight it I can't let them take me back.' I scream in my mind, 'It can wait. i am so tired.' I reason with myself. The constant beat of John's heartbeat lulls me to sleep....((tell me if you like it so I know wheather to bother putting out a sequel or if I am simply wastings space and time))
