• part I
i ran as fast as i could, looking back over my shoulder every other minute. i gotta hide or something. i thought frantically, but the only civilization within miles from where i am, is the place i'm trying to get away from. i clutched the sack i was carrying tighter, i could feel my heart race faster and faster, if that was even possible. the katana hanging on my side started to slow me down, it just started to get heavier with every step i took. my legs ached and i was hungry. faint voices began to catch up to me. oh-no, they can't find me. i'm not going through that hell again. i listened as closely as possible but didn't slow down.
"we've got to find her! if we let her go the lord'll have our heads!" came a deep and breathless voice. he sounded worried but serious at the same time.
"which way do you think she went then?!" a fustrated and very lanky voice shouted. they began to get in a small quarrel with a bunch of awkward pauses for breaths.
"just keep running!" came the deep vioce.
"don't tell me what to do! It's your fault she was able to grab the sack and escape!"
"my fault?! i suggest you run faster because if i get a hold of you, the sun won't shine upon that ugly little face of yours!"
"oh please, you wouldn't be able to catch a sloth at the pace your going." came the very lanky voice.
"ENOUGH!" this time it was the sound of a very big and broad man. "we have to keep running and work together! the rest of you KEEP UP!" he shouted and they're steps began to grow more frantic and closer. kind of like the sound you get when a bunch of people run along a track field. that's it no more running i drew out my katana and turned around embracing myself. were pretty far enough so they won't be able to call back up. i can handle them. i hope. i hid the sack behind a near by tree and stood there, ready. the chilly wind swept my hair tangled hair in front of my face. i swiped some of it behind me and began to hear their voices grow even louder until finally their angry faces came into view. the guy whom the broad voice belonged to smirked. He pulled out two switch blades. they don't seem like much next to my katana but in his hands they're worst. i tried my best to give him a threatening smile, he didn't react instead he looked at me with python eyes, whispered something i couldn't hear to his "Crew" and without warning came charging at me with such intense speed blade pointing right at me. i acted fast twirling around him before he could get to me and began to swipe with my own Katana. soon i was moving with lightning speed swishing and swiping in every direction and hundreds, well that's what it felt like, of steel blades of every kind came pointing at me. my mind was racing until i was finally knocked off balance. A sharp point sticking right under my chin. i could feel the cool metal and it had such a relieving touch to it.
"where's the sack?" he demanded. i didn't say anything. i just looked at him and he seemed to understand what my message was loud and clear. he put his sweaty face against mine, he smelled like rotting fish but i tried to ignore it. "okay darling, let me make this a little clearer," i could see everyone behind him stareing down at me, there eyes full of curiosity. "you tell me where the sack is or," he glanced at the blade sticking at me but surprisingly putting down and swiftly put a hand around my neck slightly chokeing me, "i behead you with my own bare hands." his smile began to broaden. yeah you'd like that i was to tired to throw him off, i was to tired to even think. i just continued to stare at him when finally i whispered,
"i hope you have fun burning in hell" he looked at me and began to laugh a hearty laugh, but it was cut short when suddenly someone jumped right over me and began to swing two daggers in every direction. the man who was holding me captive was puzzled but finally regained himself and began to fight back. the stranger was to much for him though, he was knocked off his feet stareing at the clouds above, then he took care of his followers. the lanky man shrieked as he was fighting. i couldn't help but let out a slight laugh. i was awestruck as he mastered every move perfectly. "amazing," i whispered. finally they were called to retreat and as they were running back i could hear the familiar deep voice yell,
"oh my god!! oh my god!!" the stranger first stared at some of the trees around him and began to chuckle. i was befundled. he looked at me and flashed me the most gorgeous smile i had ever seen.

"are you alright?" he said gently, and offered me a hand. i didn't take it, i didn't want him to think i was helpless and week because, i wasn't. i dusted myself off and looked at him. i gave a him a good look up and down, the first time i had saw who he was, and i had to admit he was HOT. i shoved it off. no he isn't, i am not falling for another man like him you know what happened last time it was hard to resist though. he had short dark hair hair, and dark eyes that could easily get people thinking they were looking upon a vast ocean at night. his clothes were tattered, and was ripped through the middle, which enabled me to see his broad chest. he was about three inches taller than i was. i nodded as he took his hand back.
"i'm fine thanks, but i could have tooken care of every single one of them myself."
"let me guess you have telekenesis and could pick people up and drop them with your mind!" i just glared at him. he then began to inspect me as i had done before to him. "you look like you were raised in a cave by wolves." he said as he ripped a piece of cloth hanging from my sleeve.
"gee thanks," i mumbled. i heard my stomach growl and i clutched it. "damn, i got to get food." i said to myself. he seemed to have heard me for he offered his arm waiting for me to grab onto it.
"i know a place where you can get food. it's my hideaway. my clan and i hide in there, besides your not in any shape to say no. we have food and everything." i wasn't sure if i should go or not. he's a stranger, he could be a trap or a lure or something but i nodded. he seemed way to nice, and plus, he saved my life.
"well alight....i mean if it isn't any trouble," i said slowly. he flashed me another gorgeous smile and said,
"nope in fact i'd be offended if you didn't." i reluctantly took his arm but before we could take another step, i let go of his arm and ran for the sack. it was still there. i quickly grabbed it, as a sigh of relief escaped my lips. then i quickly ran back to his side and he held out his hand once more. he knew better enough to ask but i said,
"i'll explain later," and he nodded.
"oh hey," he said suddenly, "i don't think i ever got your name. i'm Damen Louis." he said with a comforting look in his eyes. i smiled and said,
"it's nice to meet you, Damen," i said his name rather reluctantly, "my name's Tiarah Kingsly"
"pretty name he said, and it's nice to meet you to." and with that we walked, the wind of the night rushed through us as we made our way along. and even though i tried to shove the "condemned" feeling away, i felt as though the beam from the moon shined on us like a spotlight, and i felt safer then i've ever felt in my life.
