Divine Beginnings
In the beginning of all time, there was the One Plain. A vast field growing into the darkness,
looking forward into time and gazing back at history. It was here that the powers that were
created the ancient Gods: Ochgma of Air and Wisdom, Asmodeus of Flame and Night, Matius
of Water and Honor and Bekerr of Earth and Day. The Gods were united and sculpted the
plain making great mountains, vast oceans and the many constellations all to their own
liking.
But soon, The Gods grew tired. Their world was empty and without life. So, they created the
many animals of the world and placed them in their habitats. The first creatures were the
birds made by Ochgma and the last were the dragons which were made by all The Gods
and were few in number. For a while, this pleased them, watching their creations flurish in
their world. But again, they grew tired. This is when The Gods did what is considered their
greatest achievement (sometimes seen as their greatest mistake): They created the
humanoids.
Contrary to popular belief, Man was made first by Bekerr. They were given the
power of being his steward, ruling the land and living by day. Strangely, they interested
Ochgma more than Bekerr. Even so, they would only see Bekerr as their own God.
So, Ochgma created his own people: The Elves. However, there was great trouble in doing
this and is where this account of the Drow begins.
The dissection of sects
In Ochgma's admiration of the uniqueness of every human, he tried to duplicate this in his
creation. If anything, he made them too unique which brought into existance the four
types of elves;
The High Elves who are considered the 'perfect' sect. Adept at all things and are largely
considered greater than man in pretty much every aspect.
The Fair Elves who are much like the humans only they appear much more beautiful and so
are much more vain.
The Sylvan Elves who, to Ochgma's disappointment, choose to seclude themselves away
from all other humanoid races and instead reside with the animals of the forest.
The Drow Elves who were created last. They are good fighters and even better magic
users. With this great use of their wisdom, Ochgma pushed them to learn more about their
magic. This was ultimately their down fall.
Betrayal and isolation
The three other sects became jealous of the Drow with their superior knowledge of magic
and their gods' favoritism. When night fell (which was at the time known as Asmodeus'
domain) the sects marched to massacre the Drow. The Drow barely escaped . They immediately fled to Ochgma's altar, a great step leading
up into his domain of the sky, and pleaded for help. But, because they did not fight back
and use their magic, Ochgma instead banished them to forever live by Asmodeus' domain.
Any attempt to disobey their god by stepping out of that domain would be punishable by
death. But the Drow could see past Ochgma's trick.
To be banished to night was to be condemned to death. With no shelter, they would be
exposed to the day which, not being Asmodeus' domain, would lead to death. If shelter
was made, the other sects free of domain restriction could destroy the shelter thus leading
to their death again. Shelter for the Drow had to be made safe by a god and there was
only one able to offer it.
The Drow fled to the Great Mountain of Bekerr. Being the first creator of all humanoids, he
opened his gates to the Drow and presented them with the many gifts of the earth like he
did with his humans. This angered Ochgma greatly as it was a loop hole he himself could
not see. The race he favored among all others had betrayed him. Betrayed him, and
gave their service to not one but two gods.
The First Fall
Ochgma declared war against Bekerr and all his creations. His elves were happy to wage
war for him against the forever favored Drow and the humans who they equally despised.
(The elves and humans had never met. What caused the hatred towards them was that
the god that made them is the one who was aiding the Drow).
The end result was that no creature met or battled. Instead, a council of The Gods was
called. At this council, it was decided that, to their creations, The Gods can give one service
which would be granted without question. It was also decided that The Gods cannot stay
on the One Plain and must instead make their own plains to reside in.
Immediately after this council, the Drow called upon the service of Bekerr. They asked for
complete safety on the plain until they are powerful to rise against their former brothers.
The action made was that Bekerr locked the Drow in the mountain and made from the earth
around the mountain the Dworves to serve the Drow until they are ready to arise from
the One Plain's backward gaze into history to get vengence and wreak havock on the
race that attempted to destroy them. Not only were the Dworves there to serve the Drow,
they were also there to take the title of 'Mountain Dwellers', the former title of the Drow,
to ensure that the Drow were truly forgotten and lost through time.

Also please note that my writing style has changed a lot since I first wrote this and aspects of the story have changed too. Who knows, maybe if enough people are interested, I might even start writing this story again.
Hope you enjoy it! - Date: 11/28/2008
