• On Halloween, a girl named Grace was trick-or-treating with her friend, Anna. "The Haunted House." Grace said looking at a torn old house. There were rumors about the haunted house but Grace never believe in them. "Grace, wanna check the haunted house?" Grace's friend, Anna asked. "Maybe later." she replied. "Why? You afraid?" Anna teased her. "I'm not." Grace replied looking mad. "Okay, then let's go." Anna said as she walked up the pathway that led to the haunted house. "Anna, wait!" Grace yelled to her as she tried to catch up. Then they were inside the house. The inside of the house had spider webs, broken windows and crooked pictures. "Let's go outside!" Grace said to Anna. "I agree." Anna said then they ran outside. They opened the doorknob but it broke! "Oh no!" Grace yelled. Then a shadow came across the room. "I didn't know we had company." a voice said behind Grace and Anna. "Company?" they asked each other. Then they turned around and saw an old woman wearing a dark black apron with black clothes. "Come, have some tea." she said. "My name is Rose." "Hi, my name is Grace and this is my friend, Anna." Grace said. Then they went into her kitchen. Then everything instantly was bright. "What happened?" Anna asked Rose. "What?" she asked. "Everything is now... bright." Grace finished. Rose did a worried look and then interrupted. "More tea?" she asked. "No thank you. But we heard rumors that this house was haunted." Grace said to her. "Haunted? No that's a mistake." Rose lied. "Well can we get any candy?" Anna asked. "Sorry, but I think I don't have any, bye!" Rose said and pushed Grace and Anna out the door. Then the kids started going down the pathway. They turned around and saw the old woman. "Come back soon. Real soon." Rose said closing the door. "Did that woman looked and seemed strange too you?" Grace asked Anna. "I don't know. Don't you think she was lying about the haunted house?" Anna said. "I don't know too. But I have a strange feeling she is like not us." Grace said looking back again.
