• The day was dreary. Clouds rolled in from the east. Rain poured down from the skies as if God were crying. A young teen, who looked to be the age of fifteen, sat on the stoop of her house wondering if her life could get any worse. Her mother had found out what she was. A vampire is just one of the feared creatures on this planet. That humans know of, of course. As a little girl she had to hide it from her family. No one was supposed to know. She didn’t think that her mother would ever catch her feasting on a human corpse. That day was the most frightening day of her life. Her life was a complete mess. The one person that she loved the most, now feared her. Her own mother did not trust her daughter. The mother was about to call the police when she saw her daughter biting and nipping on a humans neck.

Well how was her mother supposed to trust her? How would she ever trust her daughter again? The only child she ever had, was keeping the biggest secret of her life from her mother. Nothing was going right on this day. Now at this very moment, her mother was calling the police. To the keen ears of her vampire daughter, the girl heard the pleading cry of her mother.

“Take her away! Please!” Shouted the mother.

“Ma’am please calm down” The man said soothingly.

“I can’t live with that monster! How will I know she won’t choose me as her next victim?! How will I know she won’t take me by the neck and suck the life out of me?!” The mother yelled. While pleading as if her life depended on it.

“Ma’am can you give me her name and a description? We will need it just in case she gets loose.”

“Her name is Lucy Ningen. She has light brown shoulder length hair. Also she has blue eyes. Please hurry and come get her!” The mother pleaded once again.

“I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

Lucy silently walked out onto the street and held her hands toward the sky. A semi came rushing toward her. Is this really what she wanted? Yes, she was sure of it. No one love’s me. No one ever will. A vampire should not exist in this world. My life has been condemned to sorrow and hatred. Imagining that the truck was protruding with spikes and stakes, she walked slowly to the semi.

    One-hundred feet… Fifty feet… Ten feet…

A flash of black was what she saw before she assumed she had been hit.

“You idiot! What were you thinking! You can’t be killed by a mere semi. Are you that stupid?” The man sighed and went on.

“All vampires are either killed by a stake to the heart. But a semi? I don’t think so. Some of what they say about vampire’s are true. Only the parts about dying by a cross, going out into the sunlight or being warded off by garlic are not true. You shouldn’t be so stupid as to think that a semi could kill you, a vampire” The man then turned and started walking away.

    “Hey! What’s your name?”

The man turned around. This time she got a better look at him. He had nice brown eyes, brown hair and a nicely shaped face.

“My name is Alphonse. Oh, and what might your name be?”

“Lucy Ningen. It’s a pleasure to meet your acquaintance.”

Lucy walked on the side of the road. She stuck her thumb up to vehicles that pass by her. No one ever stopped. Go figure. People weren’t the same as they were long ago. Ever since the alert for vampires went out, no one trusted anyone anymore. People thought that vampires were all evil. Not every vampire is evil. Although most are. Someday people will see that vampires aren’t all evil.

She walked to the end of the street and stepped out onto the road, and started jogging across.

“Hey baby! You’re sure looking hot tonight” The teen said.

Lucy sighed. “Shut it Josh. I don’t want to deal with your crap tonight. You know you can be such an a** at times” She walked away but that’s when he turned on her.

He pulled out a pocket knife and put it to her throat.
Josh whispered into her ear, “You want to say that again?” He pressed the knife deeper onto her throat. His breath fanned over her ear.

She was so close to a human’s neck. She couldn’t take it anymore. Her body was practically screaming out for blood. As she turned around slowly. Hey eyes grew a faint red. It seemed as if space and time had stopped. It was her time.

She slowly dipped her head above the teen’s collar bone and inserted her fangs deep within his skin. The metallic taste filled her mouth.

Waves of satisfaction went throughout her body. She made a few suckling noises and tore her fangs from his skin and took a gulp of air. Josh’s body slumped to the floor.

The red color in her eyes slowly faded away. She realized what she had just done. Slowly she bent over to check for a pulse. There seemed to be no pulse.

Oh no. This was bad. She had never gone overboard before. Now she had to flee the site. No one would ever know. Hopefully. She pumped her legs as fast as they would go. It got darker by the second. It was almost midnight. The moon was full, and many could hear the wolves howling at the moon. The moon called to her. Begging her to come to join her in the dance of the night.

The street lights flickered. Then all of the sudden the lights went out. The ground rumbled as if an earthquake was erupting. The earth split in two. This was truly an amazing site. Nothing looked as magnificent as this. But what stand before her was the devil himself. He beckoned her to him. Almost immediately she came. She wasn’t afraid. Not in the least. Once she started walking, there was no turning back.

He held out his hand to her. He wanted her to take it. But she couldn’t, no that wouldn’t be right. Taking his hand would be like giving her soul to him. She didn’t know that she would actually end up making a deal with the devil, and it involved her soul. She walked a few more steps, until she was face to face with him.

“Lucy Ningen. Your life has been nothing but nothing but trouble. Lives are at stake, by you living on this world. Everything in your life has taken a turn for the worse. But I am willing to give you an option. You have wished to become a human. Well I am here to grant your wish. But there is a consequence, you must give me your soul and be pure evil. In two years you will be full human. As you die, your soul will slowly become mine. Just be careful with your choice” said the devil.

“I wish to become human. I will become it at any cost. Nothing will stand in my way. So grant me my wish” she said strongly.

    “As you wish my child.”

Her skin started to burn. And her vision began to blur. She let out a screech. Then her eyes turned a violent shade of red. God help me! I can’t take this transformation! Her teeth grew fast; long and pointed. She had never experienced something this horrid. The feeling made her heart pound faster against her rib cage. Ah! My head! This hurts so much!

Lucy was having second thoughts now. Why had she agreed to this? Was it because she only wanted to become human? Or to be accepted by her mother when she grew older? No, it was for her. She needed this to prove she could handle something like this. But she knew that she would be killing innocent people day in and day out. All she needed was to become human. She could have found a better way to become human. She cared darn it!

“Lucy! Hang on! Everything will be okay!” Shouted a voice.

“Leave me alone! I’m a monster! Stay away!” Lucy bellowed at the top of her lungs.

Alphonse walked over and put his hands on Lucy’s shoulders. “Lucy. Listen to me. You’re not a monster.”

Lucy got in his face. Breathed in deep and knew exactly what he, this creature, was.

“You’re… you’re like me… You’re a vampire. I thought that I was the only one. I guess I’m not alone after all” she smiled faintly.

She choked out another scream. The pain was getting unbearable. She struggled against the transformation. Nothing could take away this pain that she felt. A sob racked through her body.

“Stay with me, Lucy!” shouted Alphonse.

“Alphonse, I need you to kill me…. I can’t take the pain that is rushing throughout my veins. Do this for me. Please. I will kill without mercy if I live. But if I die, no one will suffer."
