• A/N: I’ve realized that I don’t have the metal grounds of boundless creativity so I’m just going to stick with one-shots.
This one is Sora and Kairi in KHII after they return home and this what I think should have happened. Haha, yes! I reject that reality and substitute my own, mwuhaha! Just kidding. I don’t own KHII- just my little idea for this story.

    Enjoy! whee

    “Sora?”

Kairi and Sora sat side by side on the sandy beach, the sunset painted in the sky with bright reds, yellows, oranges, and pinks. The waves silently drifted across the sand as the soft breeze blew by them and the distance sound of birds singing filled the air. Kairi hugged her knees closer as Sora continued to lie on his back staring up at the sky.

“Yeah, Kairi?” Sora glanced at Kairi who now wore a sad expression and he slowly sat up, worried.

“Do you think…we really exist? I mean, why are we here?” Her voice cracked, “I’m so confused! Why…why is Namine with me? Is she real? Is she really me too?”

Kairi felt despair as she felt Namine’s sadness and longing inside her. Kairi knew it was hurtful, but she wanted to understand.

Sora looked into Kairi’s eyes. He felt Roxas’s anger and sadness at Kairi’s words. He knew Roxas was, no is, a person with the same burning desire to understand as Kairi.

“Kairi…I don’t know. Even though I’ve seen many worlds I still don’t understand. Why are we here? I think it’s better not to think about it.”

Kairi stared back in disbelief, “Sora! I-I-I can’t believe you! How can we not think about it?! What have you been fighting for?! Do you know h-how…How worried…I was!”

Kairi flinched at Sora’s silent touch as he brushed away her tears. His eyes were tense as he watched her, but his gaze softened and a sad smile formed on his child like-face.

    “…Sorry.”

Sora turned his gaze to the ocean,” Kairi, I’m not saying we shouldn’t care about why we’re here, it’s just..why spend the time we have now worrying about why we exist-we just do. It’s as simple as that. We should just be grateful that we do exist and that we can live.”

Kairi stared at Sora. He seemed so serious now, like he had seen things she had never seen. When did he start acting like this? she wondered. Kairi followed his gaze to the sunset and smiled. He definitely wasn’t a goofy kid now.

“So, you’re saying that…we should be grateful to be alive no matter why we’re here or for what reason?”

    “…Yeah.”

“I see.” Kairi burst out into laughter.

Sora glared at her as she continued to laugh. “Did I say something funny?”

“No, Sora. It’s just…I guess, maybe, you’ve grown up a little.”

“A little?” Sora’s face was now in disbelief, but he pouted and stood up, placing his hands behind his head. He mumbled, “Whatever. I did save the world after all.”

“That’s why,” she laughed and pointed at Sora who turned his head away in a childish manner,” but I think the hero deserves an award for protecting everyone.”

    “What-?”

Kairi grabbed Sora and hugged him tightly, “Thank you, Sora. Really.”
Sora was shocked into a momentary silence, but he hugged her back, grateful for this special moment. “You know, Kairi, there’s something I want to tell you,” he blushed slightly and she smiled.

“I know, you lazy bum. I missed you too.”

They both kissed, awkward and bashful at this action, but then they both burst into laughter the moment they looked each other in the eyes. In the distance, behind a tree, Riku chuckled quietly to himself at the scene in front of him,” I guess even the greatest warrior can’t always be cool,” and Riku walked off to the leave the two to some alone time.

A/N: Aw, fluff- how I HATE it! Godness, how can something so cheesy be so cute? Thus, this how I write- fluffy! Ah, the cursed blessing.
Well, I love games like KH and final fantasy and fatal frame because they make you think. Omg, THINK?! Yeah, I know, right? Why think when computers can do it for you? (but, really, I give many thanks to the person who created spell checker- its saved me millions of times from the red marks of the English teacher! Oh, just the very thought sends chills down my spine! >.< )

Anywho, I hope you all enjoyed it! Please look forward to more of my cheesy fluff. o////o
