• Preface
I stared at the bump in my stomach as silent tears trailed down my face and onto my shirt, leaving wet spots all over. I was pregnant. With Erik's child. And...and I was only 16! I collapsed on the hard ground of the forest floor and cried myself to sleep.

    Chapter 1:: Him
I lazily opened my eyes when the teacher, Mr. Barnes, snapped my name. "Hmm?" I mumbled sleepily. Everyone snickered.
    "Wake up and pay attention!"
I yawned. "Whatever." He grumbled a couple of, 'I hate my life' and some 'I should be working at a whore house instead of this place teaching snot nosed teenagers'.

I rolled my eyes and put my head back on the desk and soon fell asleep again. Ok, so I usually don't fall asleep in class. Seriously. Just last night I was on the computer and was finishing our four hundred gazillion word essay. I finished at 6 this morning and had to be at school by 7:45.

I was dreaming about kissing the amazing Trace Cyrus when I was awoken by a piece of paper hitting me in the face. I opened my eyes and stared at my friend, Hayley, who's face was right next to mine. She was so close that I could feel her breath on my face. "What?" I asked.
"Hi!" she said happily and rather loudly. "Stop bein' a sleepy head!"

"Oh, bite me." I grumbled. She just laughed at me.
"Did you see the new hottie?"
    "No. I've been sleeping."
"Well, stupid, wake up and look at Mr. Fiiiiiiiiiiiine Erik Kedding." she purred seductively. I rolled my eyes and looked where her hungry eyes were looking at. I gasped at Mr. Fiiiiiiiiiiiine Erik Kedding. And he definately was Fiiiiiiiiiiiine.

I blushed when he locked eyes with me. I looked down quickly and Hayley chanted, "Astera is in looooooooooove!" in my ear. I glared at her.
"Did you see Erik's eyes? Aren't they like, vibrant?"
"Yeah. Their like a neon-ish green!" I whispered to her.
    "Oh, I know--"
Hayley was interrupted by Erik. "Hello, you're Astera Bridge, right?" he said in a voice that was sweeter than melted chocolate. I gulped and blushed more like a complete idiot. I was completely silent.
"Yup. She sure is. Don't talk to her, though. She's a freak." Shayla purred, coming up to my desk and looking Erik up and down like he was a piece of work. He totally was, but she shouldn't look at him like that.

"Whatever, Shayduh." Hayley snapped at her. I laughed quietly as Shayduh. Me, Hayley, Shayla, and a guy named Dustin were in math class in 6th grade one time and Shayla said, "2 plus 2 is 5!" and didn't realize the mistake until everyone started laughing. Since then, everyone has called her Shayduh.

"******** off, herpes." she snapped at Hayley. Hayley's eyes welled up with tears at the mean nickname. She got herpes last year from being raped by her brother's friend. I stood up and got up in Shayla's face. "Don't you ever, ever use that nickname ever again or else." I growled. Shayla just laughed.
"What are you gonna do about it, freak?"
"I'll show you exactly what I'm going to do." I said as I flung my fist forward and nailed her in the nose.

Erik laughed as Shayla crumpled to the ground. I ignored him and took Hayley in my arms in a embrace as she cried on my shoulder. Usually she never cried in class unless someone used that nickname. I moved my hand up and down her back and told her it was alright when Erik's hand landed on Hayley's shoulder.

"Hey, ignore her. She's just a wannabe who's just a big slut." he whispered. I looked up and he winked at me.

Then the bell rang and he left the room.
