• Chapter 23 The Problem:

Steven sneered at the creature and signaled for Shonic and Order to circle around. As they circled around Steven slowly crept toward it. The creature let them surround him as he laughed.

“Is this you’re big idea? To surround me?”

The creature quickly lunged at Order, who was on his left close to the house, and smashed him into the side of the wall with his shoulder. It backed up and order fell over and lay on the ground trying to breath after having the air completely knocked out of him. The creature picked him up and threw him at Shonic who caught him and was knocked over. Steven saw an opening and took his chance with a flying tackle. He hit it in the stomach, but it only stumbled back a bit. It quickly kneed him in the chest and elbowed his back at roughly the area on his back that his knee hit him in the chest. Steven collapsed to the ground wrapping his arms around his chest.

“Is this all you humans can do? I thought I came here for a fight not slaughter. I almost feel bad about this.” He picked up Steven by the throat “Almost feel bad.”

It tightened his grip and Steven couldn’t breath. Order finally got up and Shonic did like wise. Shonic grabbed Order’s forearm and Order did the same to Shonic. They spun for a few seconds then Shonic threw Order at the creature. The creature, being surprised, could not react and merely got hit in the rips by Order’s knee. It dropped Steven to the ground and stumbled back in pain holding it’s rib. Steven stood up with his hand messaging his neck. Steven took the opportunity of it being stunned to run up to it and bring his heel down on the back of its head. It dropped to the ground. The creature slowly stood back up. Steven, Shonic, and Order all stood ready to fight.

Amy heard a lot of noises outside when something hit the side of the building and made a loud bang. She hesitated, but got up from the bedside.

“Now don’t you go anywhere Arc… I’ll be back in a few minutes.” She then walked slowly to the door.

The creature looked around at the people standing in front of him.

“You think you can stop me that easily?” It quickly ran at Steven.

The creature used its claws to swipe at Steven. Steven barely dodged the swipe by jumping backwards. He got three tears in his jacket from the three claws. The creature quickly followed up with a kick, but the door flew open and Amy punched it in the gut in the air.

“Steven, what did I just hit?” She asked jumping back beside Steven.

“I don’t know, but I’m glad you did.” He said regaining his fighting stance.

Amy looked toward the creature. “Steven I’ve got an idea, follow my lead.”

Amy ran directly at the creature and Steven quickly followed keeping pace with her. When they got almost within the creatures arm length Amy jumped high and quickly signaled for Steven to jump low. He did and looked up at Amy who was quickly brought both her feet down onto him. He put up his arms in an “x” shape and was shot down onto the creature’s head with both his feet. Amy flipped and spun in the air so she landed gracefully facing the creature. The creature, however, wasn’t ready for this and received two feet to the top of its neck where it connects to the head as a consequence. It fell to the ground and didn’t move.

“Amy! What was that?” Steven shouted

“It worked didn’t it?” she pointed to the creature “And besides, I knew you’d get your arms up in time.” She laughed a little.

A dark figure quietly made it’s way toward Arc from the door way of the room. Arc stirred a little and opened his eyes.

“Hey, who are-“ he was cut off by a hand covering his mouth.

The figure picked him up and left, quickly and quietly, through the window. Amy walked back into the room with Steven a few minutes later.

    “Hey, where’s Arc?!”
