• CHAPTER NINE

    Brilliant green eyes opened in confusion. This was not where he had gone to sleep! Where had the trees gone?!

    The owner of the eyes sat up, and looked around. The eyes narrowed.

    "They chopped up my tree and made buildings out of it!" A low growl followed this explination. How dare they! They shouldn't have touched my tree.

    A window opened nearby, and the eyes snapped in the direction of it. Why was someone climbing in the window? How dare they defile the sacred tree?!

    The owner of the brilliant green eyes moved from where they lay, hiding. They wouldn't get away with this.

    When the window was clear, they eyes' owner darted for it, and then leaped out. For a sickening moment, the ground lurched near. But then it was gone.

    Ah... to fly once more...
