• Chapter 1: The Hunt Begins

A cool breeze blew through Bridgette's window - a sign of a good day. Bridgette acknowledged this by throwing back his blanket and rubbed her eyes sleepily. It was the first day of classes. And this is her senior year so she is more than reluctant to start this school year. Bridgette looked at her bedside mirror and examined her black, wavy hair, her white skin and slender body, and thought, "I'm looking beautiful this morning and I'm feeling perfectly ready. This school year's going to be a fresh start for me."

    .oOo.

Brrrrt. Brrrrt. Brrrrt. The desk vibrated with Lance's alarm on his cellphone, but the teenager snored loudly. Lance was sprawled on the sofa and a few moments later, the inevitable happened, he fell down. Awoken with a start, Lance started his day with handful of profanities before reaching out for his cellphone. It was just then that he realized that he had a message. After reading a message, Lance smiled, "This gotta be the best year of my high school." With that he hurried to get ready because he is already ten minutes late for class.

    .oOo.

Brrrring! The bell rang, signaling the start of lunch period. Bridgette and his friends left their classroom when he bumped into a guy. "Sorry," the guy apologized with a weak smile and quickly resumed walking towards the hallway.

"Who's that guy?" Bridgette asked Nicole, one of friends.

"Uhmm, I think that's Lance. Also a senior, he's in one of our class, History i think."

"So that's why he seemed familiar," Bridgette did not understand why she became curious about him, 'Something is definitely not right about Lance. His smile, his eyes. Everything. just don't what," Bridgette thought as she and her friends entered the cafeteria.

"Don't mind him Det, he's one of those loner type," Anna exclaimed when she noticed that her friend is in deep thought.

"Yeah, I guess so," Bridgette replied as they began to order lunch.

    .oOo.

Lance quickly walked out of their room and even bumped a girl, but it did not delay him. He walked up flight of stairs towards the rooftop of their building, and when he arrived, three people were already there.

"Hey, you're late!" one guys with long hair said as Lance walked towards them.

"I had class," Lance said, looking at all three of them, "are we good?"

"Yeah," the smaller guy replied, "let's get going then."

The four of them gathered together in a circle and the smaller guy stretched his hand forward. His eyes then turned white as his iris disappeared and the area in front of him seemed to tear apart. The space in the center of them began to be distorted and a swirly white portal began to form.

"Let the hunt begin then," the long haired guy said as all four teenagers approached the portal. A flash of bright light and they were gone.
